Dr. Michael S. Murphy

I have been a patient since 2006! The office is well run and have the finest group of kind and caring doctors. Would not go anywhere else: Dr Murphy is my Doctor and his kindness , compassion and expertise in the field of orthopedics is beyond belief!

Dr Murphy is an excellent Dr. He is very knowledgeable in his field and is upfront with patients on what to expect throughout his care for you. Highly recommend him for any orthopedic problem

Very gentle and patient with this cry baby patient. (forgot how those needles hurt!) Explained everything very clearly.

He has for years treated my hand/bone issues due to Ollier's disease. Professional and congenial.

The absolutely worst experience. He was late, the reception said he was in surgery, when he finally got there an hour late he said he was running late not in surgery when I asked. My 89 yr old mom broke her wrist in a fall and we went to the ER. They told us to see a dr. My goodness I thought he was a dr but whatever. So we received a disc of her test results and then took them to Murphy. His office re exerted her wrist. When we went in to review all the info we asked if he wanted to see the disc from the hospital. He said they were a Mickey Mouse operation and he would use his own. Ok. He said yep it’s broken, sent her upstairs to get a removable cast and that was that. His attitude was condescending and offensive. He was patronizing to my mom and treated her like she was an imbecile. Very unprofessional. He couldn’t even figure out how to use the laptop to show us the results of their own tests. He had to go get help for that. Now she has a bone sticking out in the side of her wrist.

I had a severe wrist injury skiing Dr Murphy fixed my wrist and he was awesome My motion is great. He is wonderful and does tons of work in third world countries. Thank god for doctors like him

He is an amazing dr. He cares about his patients and takes whatever time needed to do the job right.

Dr. Murphy is very caring and knowledgeable . He explained my condition in great detail so I was left with no questions regarding my treatment plan and proposed surgery. Great sense of humor too!

Visit was great! Not one to push unnecessary surgery as I felt my other doctor had been. Definitely made the right choice with Dr. Murphy

My 6/15/2017 visit was simply the last straw. He refused to run the same x-rays as a prior visit (5/15) and this was the follow up visit. I was both stunned and outraged. He claimed he didnt want to run the full series to save me "the radiation" and that based on his years of experience he was sure the finger was healed. In the first visit he did what was normal, he showed me the xrays and where the two injururies were. One this visit he did not visually r and refused to run matching xrays

Doctors are great but I would never go to this facility again if I could help it. I have waited I've 1 1/2 hours every time I go here I have a 930 appt I get taken back at 1056 just to wait 20 more min.unnecessary to wait that long at a hand clinic , it's not an emergency room

Have been waiting over an hour to see A dr and still haven't been seen. , finally went back to see Dr Shear and must say he really is an excellent Dr! Great bed side manner!

I saw DR. MICHAEL MURPHY at Union Memorial Hand Center in 2013! The man is an absolute miracle Dr. My hand hurt me so bad and the pain was through the roof!!! I was not able to do any thing!!!! This Angel took care of my problem so well that here it is going on 2017, and I have not had pain since I saw this wonderful Dr. He is the greatest I've ever seen! Thank you Dr Murphy for your kindness and help!!!! I would not of made it, had it not been for you! May God bless you in your profession! I waited over an hr to see him & he spent less than 5 min with me. It's a good thing I have health insurance and only had a co-pay. He wasn't even worth the $40 co-pay. What a complete waste of my time and money spent to see him. I could've found out more researching online. In fact I got absolutely no helpful information at all from him. He might as well of been just a stranger off the street sitting with me for 5 minutes. He was sarcastic & not patient friendly. Don't waste your time.

Dr. Murphy is unequaled as a surgeon, but he is not so good with patient follow-up such as PT and after surgery care and splinting etc. or with answering patient questions. For instance he does not usually show you the x-rays and discuss them with you. He is very short with his answers to questions and is opinionated with his way of doing things. I had to ask about PT when I obviously needed it.
