dr martyn was very through. he diagnosed and explianed in detail why i was having dizzy spells. he explained the procedure and how its done. he then performed the procedure. he told me that if the dizzy spells returned i could do the procedure myself. knock on wood i havent had a spell since my office visit. thank you. signed ld

It has been 14 years since I had my thyroidectomy at Riverside with Dr. Michael Martyn. He had the best bedside manner . He took extra time to answer all my questions. My scar is not noticeable. During my first surgery he removed my left thyroid that had a large goiter. He was conservative due to my age being 25 at the time. Only to find out my pathological results came back that I had thyroid cancer. He called me to inform me of the results and took me back to surgery.He removed my thyroid lobe on the right side and some lymphnodes that came back clear. I was very lucky that my Endocrinologist Dr. Angela Bucci referred me to him. Since the surgery I became a RN myself and I work in surgery in my hometown. It truly is amazing I was able to get a second chance at life and have a family. I own this man a huge thank you! Dr. Martyn took excellent care of my son! He had surgery at the Ohio Surgery Center where the entire staff made my son and my husband and I feel completely at ease. Dr. Farina ( anesthesiologist) was amazing! They go out of their way to make children comfortable and they make them feel so special! I recommend Ohio ENT & Allergy Physicians and the Ohio Surgery Center to anyone...

Ugh! I went in because I had a cold and sinus infection which caused my right ear to be plugged for over 5 weeks. I scheduled an appointment with Dr.Martyn. They recommended a hearing test PRIOR to examining my ears (which is odd). The audiologist noticed I have accumulated ear wax in my left ear. She wanted the Dr to remove it first before the unnecessary hearing exam. He examined my right ear and said I have fluid behind my ear- which makes sense. Then he proceeded to mention the wax in my left ear and was surprised I didn’t have hearing issues in my left. I had no issues with this ear what so ever before seeing the doctor. He told me he is going to remove it. As he was doing so, I felt sharp pain! I told him it hurts but he proceeded to scrap away anyways. AND he didn’t even get all of the wax! I literally left the appointment with throbbing pain in the unaffected ear! He prescribed ciprodex ear drops, levofloxacin, and Medrol dosepak. The ear drops made my both ears worse- I cannot hear out of both ears. I called them a day later and expressed my concerns. They said they will call me back by the end of the day and never did. Well, reading the other 1 star review, I can say I had exactly the same experience. The difference is that I did sit for another hearing test on my second visit. After a year, I had had no change in my ear pain (and no change in my hearing which is perfect). He wanted to prescribe exactly the same protocol as the year before which I declined. I reminded him I have a history of head cancer so I insisted on an MRI. I had my MRI on July 12th. It is now Sept. 8th. I have called his office SIX times for the results. I have spoken to his nurse SIX times. She has assured me that she has given him my messages in writing and in person, even marking them urgent. Still, I have heard nothing. I found out that ProScan sent him my results on July 18th. Luckily, they gave me another copy of my scan so I could have another radiologist read the results for me last week. So I still have ear pain with no explaination and zero response from Dr. Martyn. I would never recommend this doctor. Waiting time is horrible. It's always far past our appointment time.

Absolutely the best ENT in Columbus! He is both knowledgeable and professional. Dr. Martyn put tubes in for my child just before his second birthday and he has been ear infection free since that surgery. In addition, I've seen him for ongoing ear pain and he was quick to understand the issue and come up with a solution. Making appointments is a breeze and I've never waited longer than 10 minutes to see him. His nurse is very friendly as well and the location provides easy parking and a clean atmosphere. After a year without a diagnosis, I finally had an MRI (at my insistence) on July 12th. Since then, I have called Dr. Martyn's office 6 times and left messages with his nurse asking for the results of my MRI. Each time she has assured me that the message has been forwarded to him both in writing and in person. Still, I have not heard from his office. I found out the my results were delivered to him on July 18. It is now Sept. 8. He has had my results the entire time. Still waiting.

Dr. Martyn's staff took me for a hearing test initially. I had scheduled this appt. due to swooshing sound in right ear. After the test, Dr. Martyn came in; NEVER introduced himself; NEVER provided test results; read my chart and prescribed a steroid. Said, "if it doesn't go away in a couple of weeks, come back." It did NOTHING but make it worse. Went to 2nd appt.; nurse took me to hearing test AGAIN. I explained that I had one recently. She didn't care; was cort and rude. Told her I wasn't having another one without speaking to the Dr. I heard the nurse say to the Dr. out side the door; "I tried!" Dr. Martyn came in again and questioned why I wanted no testing. I explained I had nothing from anyone as to why I was back in there. He gave some feeble reasoning and I then stated that swooshing sound is worse. He then had an ingenious idea: LET'S LOOK IN THE EAR! Well, he says then...."there isn't any water in there" really? An ENT who doesn't even look in the ear? Unreal...gave me some mumbo jumbo and out I went; NEVER TO RETURN and hopefully, neither will you! Dr. Martyn's staff took me for a hearing test initially. Our first appointment for our son was a little awkward because Dr. Martyn didn't introduce himself, but he is a phenomenal doctor and is great with both of my boys. There have been a few scheduling errors on the staff's part, but Dr. Martyn himself is great.

Dr Martyn is an awesome doctor that did my thyroid cancer surgery when I was 26 years old. I'm 39 now and you can't see the scar at all. I'm so grateful for him and he also just did another surgery on my lymph node and you can barely see That scar. Such a caring and attentive Doctor.

Dr. Martyn did an excellent job with my tonsillectomy. He and his staff checked up on me several times during the recovery process (it is a little painful at 27!). I can no longer see the scars and I feel so much better. He is a very caring and extremely knowledgable - I would recommend Dr. Martyn to anyone!
