Dr. Mangelson is a great doctor and a great person. He takes the time to answer questions in detail, making sure that you completely understand his recommendations. Very happy that I came to him for a 2nd opinion.

The doctor has a great way about him and I related to the information he gives me about my health.

Dr. Mangelson has great “ bed side” manners. He explains things very clearly and never seems in a hurry.

Absolutely the worst doctor I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. This character had no interest in helping me with my urology issue; no introduction, no eye contact (just stared at his computer), badmouthed another clinic, and got me out of his office asap. This is my experience. Dr. Mangelson was overconfident in his abilities from the start. He failed to keep me locally anaesthetized throughout the entire surgery causing a lot of pain. The vasectomy took a little over 2 hours from start. He failed to find the vas deferens so he made an irreversible cut to the epididymis. One of the incisions is about 3 inches long because he was very invasive with the surgery taking out and reversing my testicle and making many cuts. All of this was done without consulting me at all. The stitches left were very messy and uneven. After the surgery he left immediately while the nurses continued cleaning me. We had to call him 2 hours later due to continued bleeding and he told me to meet him at a nearby ER. At the ER I learned he forgot to stitch one of the incisions and he said, "I don't know how that got there". Running out of characters so I'd like to say, I could not walk for 6 weeks and am still recovering 3 months later. Find a doctor that will care

I do not recommend this doctor for many reasons. This is my experience. Dr. Mangelson was overconfident in his abilities from the start. He applied the glue with no pain relievers at all in a very rough manner only to get his gloves stuck to the incision after 5 minutes of squeezing. Being stuck he roughly removed his gloves from the incision and opened it back up making it necessary to reapply glue and squeeze for 5 more minutes. He then sent us off. I got infected from the large incision and had to go to urgent care and found it necessary to get a second opinion from a different urologist. After that visit I was assured this was not normal and there were many mistakes made during the surgery. After all of this the ER I went to at Dr. Mangelson's request tried to charge me and I had to dispute for 2 months. In the end I could not walk properly much for 5 weeks, had pain walking for 2 months, had extreme stabbing pains for 2 months, and am still recovering 3 months later with some soreness and at any touch. Frankly, I do not recommend this doctor for anything. Stay safe and find a doctor that will know when to quit.

Brilliant doctor with a personality! Very rare. Outstanding listener and explainer. And Michelle is pretty great as well! Highly endorse and recommend.

Was in a bit over a year ago for a reversal. Was in the E.R. with in 8 hrs of getting home. Had to get 3 stitches on my right side. When it was time to remove stitches only 3 were there. The E.R. doc didn't remove any and there were 3 on the other side. We called the emergency contact before with we went back to the hospital. The recorded message informed us to go to a hospital. Dr M took an extraordinary amount of time with me, going from one set of labs to another to determine whether or not i have chronic disease. He used a number of 1.1 to refute what a previous physician had said to me. she said i i have moderate CKD. Dr M gave me a rectal exam without my asking. the previous physician hsd to be requested by me to do such a check Dr M's exam result was quickly conveyed to o me: my:prostate was small, smooth on one side and a bit bumpy on the left side. there was no sign of my prostate impleding flow of urine.perhaps my major complement centers on his thorough knowledge ob labs and the relationship some results have with others have with others (linkage, i presume.) what follows is a lighter moment. Dr. Mangelson helped my fiancé with exercise induced hematuria - my fiancé and his parents both said this Doctor was the coolest person they have ever met. We want to thank Michelle for scheduling us so perfectly and professionally- Anna for being one of the best nurses in the world - beautiful inside and out - and of course Dr. Mangelson - the best urologist there is- his amazing bedside manner - and the thorough TIME he gave us- we are so blessed to have visited this office!!! Salt Lake City is lucky to have this amazing Doctor!!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Front office staff is completely rude and condescending. After a horrible 4 minute call with them, I decided to go to another provider.

I had surgery quite a few years ago for bladder neck suspension from Dr. Mangelsen. He is absolutely a fantastic urologist a fantastic surgeon and I would refer him to anyone

My vasectomy was quick and easy. The process was simple and straightforward. I appreciated the fact that didn't have to have a psychological evaluation before scheduling my procedure - "Mr. Jones, are you sure you understand the implications of having a vasectormy? Yes, I won't be having kids. I get that part." Additionally, I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Mangelson's bedside manner. I wouldn't necessarily say I'd do it again. So far the first is working out just fine, but I would certainly recommend Dr. Mangelson. My vasectomy was quick and easy. The process was simple and straightforward. I was disappointed with the care and treatment given to me by Dr. Mangelson. I've had many Kidney Stones in my life and I needed some help with some stones that were causing me pain. Yes they were up high in the Kidney and unobstructed but still causing pain. Dr. Mangelson discounted my input and told me the pain was likely caused by a back pain and would refer me to a Spinal Clinic. He told me he could get some "Monkeys" to come in and do Lithotripsy, and that it would not do me any good. I was able to see a Urologist in Provo who spent some time with me, explaining the difference between a colicky Kidney and back pain. We opted for the Lithotripsy and I'm once again pain free. Excellent doctor. Very knowledgeable and experienced. His office got my husband in fairly soon and didn't give him any problems.

His office got me in quickly; he was professional and knowledgeable; he scheduled me for a procedure much sooner than I would have expected. I would absoluely recommend, and have already recommended, him to friends and family.

Gives excellent time and attention to me. One time my urine was reddish blue. He got me right in, scoped me, and then I remembered I had eaten a quart of blueberries that morning. That's what made the urine go reddish blue! We laughed, but he has taken care of prostate removal, and kidney stones. Very attentive, and his bedside manner is outstanding.
