Dr. McDonald has helped me to take care of my skin for over fifteen years. He has a friendly and caring manner and always clearly explains the procedure and what to expect. I highly recommend him.

If you are looking to get your nose done, I recommend going to Dr. Mac. I was very self-conscious of my nose growing up before my surgery and was so shy that I would always try to hide behind my hair. During the consultation, Dr. Mac took the time to thoroughly explain the whole procedure to me and answered any questions I had in detail. Keara, the manager, also was very kind to me and answered any other questions I had as well. I had never had any type of surgery before my rhinoplasty and Dr. Mac reassured me and my mom (since I was only 18 at the time) the whole time and made me feel at ease before my surgery. Additionally, the staff that works alongside with Dr. Mac at the location where the surgery takes place was also so wonderful and kind to me and my mom as well. Dr. Mac truly cares about his patients and he and Keara, both took the time to call me throughout my recovery to see how I was feeling after the surgery. I had my nose done back in May 2022 and it's been about 9 months since I had my nose done and I am in love with the results so far. Every day it just keeps getting better. My confidence has grown so much that I no longer feel self-conscious about my side view and I am obsessed with my nose. I truly appreciate everything that Dr. Mac and his staff did for me. Dr. MacDonald is an exceptional surgeon with true kindness and a big heart. He also has an amazing staff. It’s hard to find doctors that show they truly care and I felt that from the minute I first spoke with him. I highly recommend Dr. McDonald for any cosmetic or corrective surgery you may need. Plus, he’s a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to the surgery which is even better for me.

Oh how I miss Dr Macdonald so much. I'd ended up moving to another state, and unfortunately I haven't found a surgeon who is as awesome as Dr Macdonald. He does the BEST botox job, really opening up my eyes, to an almost alluring look. Now my eyes are constantly beady. My naso-labial folds are more pronounced, the surgeon using 4 FOUR syringes for my whole face. Unbelievable, I don't recall Dr Macdonald ever using more than 2 on my face. Dr Macdonald and staff were nothing short of wonderful! His office is warm and welcoming and I immediately felt comfortable. Unfortunately the TMJ botox treatment I received was not as successful as I was hoping for as I'm still experiencing considerable jaw pain a week after the procedure. Dr. Macdonald has been my go-to plastic surgeon for aesthetic treatments and procedures since 2019. I've had liposuction, a submentoplasty, regular botox injections, migraine preventative botox injections, subtle fillers, and recently began a chemical peel series. The doctor is always kind, personable, professional, and down to earth. He always knows what to recommend to give me what I'm looking for, but is also not afraid to put some guardrails on my expectations. He prefers his outcomes to look natural and undetectable. I was referred to Dr. MacDonald by my friend and am very glad I found him. I had a lip lift done overseas in 2013 which resulted in big scar on my upper lip. I went to see a surgeon in Beverly Hills in 2015 which removed big scar but had upper lip that did not line up. I pretty much gave up any hope of getting this fixed until I met Dr. MacDonald. After meeting him and saw so many testimonies from his patients in a big binder in his office, I decided to proceed with surgery. It has been 3 weeks since surgery and my upper lip is looking better and better every day. I have faith in him and trust him completely. I am really looking forward to getting my upper lip looking more natural as it heals more in the next few months. It has been 6 months since my surgery. The scar around the upper lip border is very minimal and looks more natural and I am no longer self conscious about my upper lip scar. Dr. Macdonald is my hero!! I suffered with ugly calcium deposits around my eyes for 10yr due to side effects from thyroid disease. After years of being told there is no way to correct it, or that I was too dark for surgery. Dr Macdonald reassured me he could help. I received nothing but excellent service. Dr Macdonald is very personable, honest, listens to what you want, makes suggestions, but is not pushy. It was an enjoyable experience and I would recommend Dr. Macdonald to anyone interested in a freshen-up. :-)

Dr. McDonald is one of the best plastic surgeons in the bay area. He recently did an eye surgery for me and it looks beautiful. His staff members are very professional and are always ready to help in any way they can! I will continue to use their services snd products as the years go by!

I work in healthcare and I am 51. I was greeted by wonderful staff starting with the front desk to the nurse then Dr. Macdonald himself. I have received several laser treatments here and was always pleased with the results. My skin is not perfect but I prefer laser for fillers or microneedling. I decided to get Botox this time around and was worried I would get too much and look frozen.. The Dr assured me and I left pleased. I am 1 week from laser and botox. I feel the difference with botox as my forehead feels "stiff" which isn't a bad thing. I tend to over express in this area. I have a couple of small areas that I feel need more attention but the Dr. assured me I could return and he would add to those areas free of charge. As my skin was peeling I could see all the "dead" layers not a pretty look because I used a ton of Zinc to protect myself from the sun. My skin always feels smoother after laser. I was NOT a patient of Dr Macdonald. However, I had a procedure done while living in the bay area almost a decade ago. Trying to find out if his office was the one that did my procedure (so I could get copies of my medical records) I called and spoke with his office. He called me back HIMSELF to explain it wasn't him or his office, asked about what I had done and spent his valuable time on the phone with me trying to piece together the clues to identify who it was that did my procedure and where. I had a Septorhinoplasty done by Dr. Michael Macdonald. I’m very happy with my results. Dr MacDonald has a manner that is direct and engaging, and he went above and beyond to ensure I was able to have the results I was looking for, insurance coverage and all. At the one month follow-up when I expressed how happy I was with how it looks and how much better I breathe, he seemed just as thrilled as I felt. Dr. Macdonald is the best i have ever seen in his field. His is a kind and caring surgeon that explains everything he will do clearly and is with you every step of the way providing warm care following your procedure. I had nothing but the best care that I have received by him even though I had kept bothering him with questions and was scared throughout the check ups. He was always patient and took his time to explain everything in detail to make sure I was comfortable. His bedside manner was flawless. I had always had issues growing up with my nose and when it was broken it had always become a self conscious issue of mine. Dr. Macdonald himself is extremely defensive when I have expressed my concern. He has a leave it to the master attitude lacking the typical compassion a doctor should have. His staff reflects his attitude as well, after hearing them talk about me over the phone when they thought I hung up I have cringed/ dreaded going back which leaves a possibility for proper aftercare/ revision if needed impossible. My search for a plastic surgeon for my belly liposuction ended after my consultation with Dr. MacDonald. Let me start by saying that the entire process was so smooth, professional and just outstanding. Jodi, the coordinator is very prompt and helpful right day 1 through the entire post operative recovery period. She provided all the information step by step and left no Qs unanswered. My zoom consult with Dr. MacDonald, extremely professional and best. Doc gave all his time,asked for my goals,went step by step and what I would expect from my goals. Please consider researching other doctors in Bay Area who possess a higher skill set and utilize more up to date practices and technology . I had three procedures that require follow up but due him/ his offices attitude, unprofessionalism and overall disregard for patient safety, comfort and care I am left with botched surgery and no hopes or trust in him for a revision of botched surgery.

Dr Macdonald so knowledgeable and professional. The place is very welcoming and you are always greeted. They truly listen to your concerns and targets all the areas you want to work on. They have a wonderful front desk as well Ms Jodi and Ms Diane, and Dr Lamai was excellent! I am definitely recommend this place to everybody!

I had a really great experience getting a nano laser peel at Dr. Macdonald’s. I learned about his Center and the treatment via GroupOn and went in not knowing what to expect for either. I found the Center to be very nice, clean, and professional. The doctor who did my laser treatment did a great job of explaining what I should expect, both during the treatment and after which basically was: a bit of burning during the treatment, a bad sunburn feel for the day after, a lot of tightness for the next day, and then lots of peeling for about 4-5 days. The final result is absolutely amazing though. Totally worth it! My skin looks years younger after just one treatment. I’ve recently tried a plethora of chemical and enzyme peels and nothing compares to the results I now have. I am absolutely going back again as soon as I can to get another treatment. Nano Laser is amazing I have fair skin with freckles. I started going here 6 years ago and I am glad I did. Today my skin is supple and tight and without any deep wrinkles. I went to Dr. Macdonald for blepharoplasty. The consult was easy and informative. Setting up the surgery with Jodi was a breeze. The day of surgery I had a bit of nerves but was assured that Dr. Macdonald does these procedure alot and is really good. Thank goodness I didn't stress because the surgery was quick and without any complications. The pain was very minimal and I was able to take advil after procedure. I am 35 and my eyelids were extremely droopy. I am so thankful I got this procedure done. After surgery I slept sitting up for a few days because I really didnt want any brusing and I never got any brusing. On a scale from 1-10 my pain never got over a 4 and my result has been amazing!!! I would reccomend this surgery to anyone that feels like there eyelids are droopy. Mine were being held up by my eyelashes and now they are high and perfect!! I had purchased a Groupon for 1 NanoLaser Peel. The office is easy to locate, but need to give extra time to find parking depending on time of day. The office is bright, clean, professional, and welcoming. The front desk receptionist was very quick to welcome me and inform me of the paperwork to fill out before my peel. I was seen within 5 minutes of arrival and completion of my forms. When I called to schedule it was very easy and she did make sure I did not use any active ingredient face products for a week prior to coming in. Although Dr Macdonald did not do my procedure himself, he definitely stopped in the hallway and asked me my thoughts and welcomed me as well. One of the better experiences I have had in a professional medical office! The procedure itself was basically painless, the laser just felt a warm buzz as it passed but after the cool air moved away that’s when you start to feel the sunburn feeling I was told to expect. The sunburn feeling lasted about an hour and a half after procedure was done and has some redness that lasted about the same time. I would consider this a minimal downtime procedure if any at all, I personally continued on my day even with the mild redness and tingly sunburn feeling. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed for the lack of a clear explanation of services. i had received an $250 off offer to purchase injectables. I made an appointment to see Dr. McDonald who was friendly professional and courteous. He explain what I needed and his technique of using a combination of products to achieve a better more settle look which is exactly what I was looking to accomplish. I also clearly remember him saying that if I wasn't happy .with the results and needed any "adjustments" that I could come back. However, no one was careful to explain the fine print on the offer. Aso, Dr. McDonald happens to charge by the area and not by the unit as most places do. Long story short, I ended up with a $1,200 bill for botox and fillers which INCLUDED the $250 dollar discount. Although I was confused and a little surprised when paying, I couldn't say much. The treatment had already been done. I contacted the practice twice over the phone and twice via email. My 11's were starting to show not even 3 months into the treatment. I was turned down and told that the adjustment had to be within the first 3 months of the treatment. This wasn't explained clearly to me otherwise I would have called immediately. In summary, this isn't my first rodeo. I know that treatments don't last a year or even 6 months for some people but they do definitely last more than 3 months. My mother worked for a prominent plastic surgeon for 15 years. I am familiar with the treatments; I felt very deceived. I don't think there was a clear explanation of services. I also don't think it is worth the money considering you can get the same exact treatment anywhere else for half the money without "coupon" . I am sure Mr. McDonald is an amazing surgeon. I wasn't having plastic surgery tho. This was cosmetic work. I saw Dr. Macdonald for lip implants. Maybe we just had a personality clash, but I did not care for his rude comments and short temper. During my initial consultation we discussed the lip implants and I did not inquire about any other services. However, he suggested it would be easy to get rid of the fullness under my chin and neck at the same time. I was completely offended and gave him a look that conveyed that he quickly apologized and said a doctor should never do that. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt because he was the only dr willing to put in implants. The day of the surgery I was asked to come in 30 mins earlier to take some medicine that would calm my nerves and help with pain. I arrived at 9:30am as my appointment was at 10am. I was quickly ushered into the surgery room and given meds. However, after a few minutes Dr Macdonald came in and asked me to go to another room while he prepared. I sat in another room for about 45 mins. After 45 mins I came out of the room and asked about getting Botox that day as well. He accommodated and administered the Botox quickly. Afterward we started talking about my lips. He asked me about 5 times if I really was sure about the size, which was frustrating. In addition during the original consultation I had told him I was getting filler that evening. I reminded him that I had done that and seemed to get frustrated with me for doing so. I reiterated that during the consultation I had told him I was getting filler that evening and it didn’t feel that there was much in there. He snapped back at me saying a syringe of juvederm was not nothing and asked if I knew how much more difficult this would make his job. Had I not been sedated and payed I would have walked out of his office after that incident. He left the room and brought in a rep for. Surgisil to help him measure the implants. Again asking me if I was sure about the size I wanted. I’m pretty sure the rep could pick up on the tension in the room at that point. It was now 11am, my appointment was at 10am and we just start numbing. The dr administered a dental block, but only one quadrant of my mouth was numb. I went to tell him that and I looked down and he was coming at my face with a large needle. I turned my head out of fear and anxiety of a needle coming directly at my face and he said “just let me test it!” Again I told him I can feel my own face and I am telling him only one quadrant of my face was numb. It took him several attempts to get me fully numb. He commented that he did everything right and my nerve passages must be laid out strangely. At that point I think he could tell I was upset. He left the room again and came back in and apologized for losing his temper and being short. But, I should be glad that He was self aware enough to recognize it. I was beyond the point of offended at this point and really just wanted to get the show on the road. Around 11:30am he took me to his surgery room and asked if it was okay for the surgisil rep could be on the room. I really did not want her to be there but I was so annoyed I said I didn’t care. The procedure itself probably took 20 mins. As he was cleaning my face...after the trauma of the surgury and telling him I was sore. I asked him to do it more gently. He said he would have someone else do it, dropped the washcloth on my face and left the room. The people in the room were all uncomfortable. I basically sat up grabbed my purse and left. The nurse said she would give me a call the next day. Overall if the work he did is great,then fine. But, I do not even want to see this man for a post-op visit. Maybe our personalities were not a fit, but this was a terrible experience with a doctor who was condescending, and a complete jerk. I saw Dr. Macdonald for lip implants. from my first visit and through the whole process of fixing my deviated septum Dr Macdonald was great through it all. My procedures were non cosmetic and strictly functional in nature and in completing my time with Dr Macdonald my quality of life was markedly improved.

I have been a patient of Dr. Macdonald for over twelve years. The non-invasive procedures I have received over the years have kept me feeling young and beautiful as I approach the big 50. I had a Halo treatment July 2017. The results were great. Smooth skin, pores greatly reduced. Age spots reduced. Overall, a glow and youth to my skin. The results are visible-friends and family have commented on how well I look. I had a second Halo March 2018 as a follow up and the great results are repeated. I can go out without makeup. The treatment also reduced my rosacea. Overall, I look younger, my skin is smooth and there are barely any lines, I am 60. I plan to do Halo again and again.

Wonderfull just pain and simply wonderfull

Best service and care I've ever received at a doctor's office. Staff is sweet and knowledgeable. Dr. Macdonald is genuine, enthusiastic, and very skilled at his craft. Highly recommended!

Dr. Macdonald is a BRILLIANT SURGEON! He gave me a chin augmentation (male, early 30's) and he noticed flaws in my profile I never thought of. He picked a stellar implant for me, and my face has never looked better! Not only is my side profile great, my front profile looks masculine and strong without looking too big (no Jay Leno chin here!). I'm ecstatic about my results and significantly more confident in my face :D He is also very kind and very precise and smart. Surgery was pleasant (IV Sedation) and I healed very fast, no infections or anything. His entire staff is super kind, especially Jodi, who is great at scheduling and highly articulate and intelligent. Everyone cares about you and checks up on you before and after surgery, its very nice! I have a molecular biology background (its kind of relevant) so I can tell you, Dr. M knows what he's doing, he's skilled, knowledgeable, professional and kind. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Macdonald. When it comes to your face, especially plastic surgery, don't just trust anyone! His prices are good for the skill he has. He's also very proficient and you are unlikely to suffer complications or infection under his care. His skill and aesthetic acumen will alter your face and life forever! One suggestion when you see him. Be sure to ask him as many questions as you want, don't hesitate, its your face here! Make sure you know all your options. Also, note that for chin augmentation, if you are debating two sizes, you can always swap implants after a few months, and it only costs a few hundred extra I think, its a more minor procedure. One star rating because he did a laser blemish removal from my face but the blemish didn't get removed like he said. That's fine I don't expect perfection, but he didn't stand behind his work by offering to do it again or do some alternative. I called the office about it but never got a call back--just ignored me. I was hoping I wouldn't have to write such a bad review if they had responded. Seems like a very money-oriented operation in my opinion, with little concern for the patient. I just cannot believe that this Dr. get's 5 Stars....I have BEFORE pictures (I had to have reconstructive surgery) to prove that anyone who is thinking about using this Dr. to perform plastic surgery should NOT LET HIM TOUCH YOUR FACE. Don't let him..,.please...don't let him touch your face.

AH, I love waking up looking like I've just been on a vacation, when in fact I got four hours sleep and am running around like a crazy woman for the end of school ruckus. I made the drive into downtown Oakland(Cosmo Spa & Lounge) to have Dr. Mac give me some Dysport aka "wrinkles be gone." Between Soon Jin(owner of Cosmo) updating my information on her computer, handing me some bubbly water and Dr. Mac applying the numbing agent while taking a few notes, I was in and out in about 20 minutes? He is still the most painless doctor around. He is an expert in the area of Botox/Dysport. I have never had anything but fantastic results. Dysport takes 3-5 days to "work" fully but yes, there was an immediate change in my wrinkle status one day out. Happy Camper! I would tell everyone who wants to roll the clock back on their face, without undertaking any big and overly noticeable procedures, that this is the go-to doctor. PS. He insures that you can still smile and laugh because really, a frozen face is so not pretty. Excellent Skin Care professional. What I especially like about Dr. MacDonald and staff is their follow up. I will continue to seek them out for my skin care needs.

Dr Macdonald is very kind and caring. My face was swollen from an allergic reaction and went to his office for help. Dr Macdonald and his staff were very sympathetic and informative. The staff called me a couple days after my visit to see how I was doing. I would highly recommend Dr Macdonald.

Having now walked thru his doors a total of 4 times!!!! I'm hooked Though I can't remember the names of his staff, sorry people, I mos def know his name. Dr Macdonald has a great 'bedside manner' and his suggestions are all relevant. We've even had a chat that was unrelated to his work but was spot on for a problem that I was having (as was his mother). The results from the fillers, per his placement suggestion(s) have been shall we say liberating.
