Dr .Lypka is a great plastic surgery!!! Very caring . He has operated on two of my kids multiple times. Would Not go to anyone else. Only wish he did adults also.

Our child has suffered from frequent, severe pain for years. We kept getting bumped to different specialists for this issue, and when we scheduled an appointment with Dr. Lypka, our child was finally hopeful. However, from the moment he entered the room, Dr. Lypka acted as though he was angry at us. He was terse and ready to walk out the door within a few minutes. I was shocked. We have had experience with several CM specialists, and he was the worst. He was not interested in our experience with the issue or much of what we had to say. Our teenager left in tears, and there is still no relief in sight. Our child has suffered from frequent, severe pain for years. Dr.Lypka is AMAZING!! I’m not easily impressed (& I’m in the medical field) so I feel I know when I’ve found a competent doctor. Dr.Lypka is HIGHLY skilled & takes his time. He did 3 procedures on my daughter & A LOT of swelling & bruising is normal however, he was so gentle that she has had NO bruising at all!! She also didn’t need ANY narcotics afterwards other than in recovery right after the 4 hour surgery which is also unheard of & AMAZING!! That tells me he was very careful & gentle during the procedure. His nurse Natalie is amazing & so kind. The entire staff at Children’s Mercy was wonderful. I saw other reviews online about Dr.Lypka that said if their child needs further surgery they would drive from Houston Texas (where he used to practice) to KC. That sentence says it all. We’d drive anywhere to hv Dr.Lypka be our daughters doctor also because, he’s most definitely the best of the best. There’s not a better surgeon out there!! Thanks so much to Dr.Lypka & his team!!
