Dr. Lief is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He takes his time during visits and carefully explains his findings and suggestions. It gives me great peace of mind to be in his care.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Lief for 10 years, since I was in my mid 20s, and always find that he is thorough, responsive, and available for questions. I like how they do the ekg and full round of tests for every annual. While I don’t live in nyc anymore, I still go to him because I trust him and appreciate that he always knows my history and listens/takes action to my concerns. I have and continue to recommend him!

When my PCP re-located, he recommended Dr. Lief. I saw him twice. Both times I found him abrasive, sometimes even sarcastic. The first time was what he called a "meet-and-greet." He answered questions; it was brief and perfunctory. The second time was my annual physical exam, which was cursory and rushed. He doesn't take phone calls or emails; everything is on the Patient Portal. Nothing ever appeared after a month, despite my urging. Finally I chose to switch physicians and requested that he fax my file. Several months have elapsed, yet he hasn't. I found him lazy in every possible way.

Dr Lief is fine as a doctor but he's always consistently late (15-20 min if you're lucky) and then in a hurry to move on to the next patient. Several times my appointment was shorter than my wait time. It is common that I have to call his office multiple times until I get a prescription refilled. After seeing him for a few years as my primary care doctor, I'm tired of his poor bedside manners

I have been using this Medical Group for 15 years, and my family has for 30 years (all different Doctors). When they (MHMG) were acquired by Caremount, the service started to steadily decline, and then rapidly. The Doctors spend increasingly less and less time listening to their patients, as well as explaining diagnoses/going over the various tests results they order. My whole family (7 people with 7 different Doctors) is leaving after 30 years, due to the increasing lack of time/attention/& care. It's a shame, because the Doctors themselves are clearly good/well credentialed. But its no coincidence that all my siblings/parents who see different Doctors and found them reliable and thorough for years, now find them all to be rushed, inattentive, rude, and impersonal. It's become a factory of insurance collection, and not a medical service, and doesn't inspire confidence that the Docs will notice or attend to potential illness. I'd been afraid to leave because I value continuity of care. But clearly there is no longer any continuity from year to year. Is this where the whole industry is going? I don't know, but I'll have to try my luck with another Medical Provider. Caremount is not on the level. What a shame.

Not rushed, flexible in talking through health care options, knowledgeable.

Highly recommend. Great doctor and always remembers details about you. You get the feeling that he cares.

Seems more interested in money than health

Dr. Lief is great, but his office workers are a disaster. When you call, the phone rings and rings and rings and rings. When someone DOES answer, you get put on hold, sometimes being put directly into voicemail. The staff at the front desk are not friendly, or helpful. They act as if you are inconveniencing them when you call AND when in person. I say this not based on just one or even two experiences. This is now my 5th experience like this. And honestly, all I'm requesting for them to do is to forward my medical lab results to a specialist. I'm a new patient and I think I'm going to find a new Primary Care Physician. Also, the Murrey Hill Medical Groups computer system is so antiquated. I see another physical in their network and when I wanted to make an appointment with Dr. Lief (also in their network) I waited for 15 min while the receptionist manually imputed my information into another system, just to check another physician's availability. I've been seeing Dr. Lief for the past 7 years. He is so kind and understanding. Easy to get appts with him.

Would not recommend. He was late, then demeaning, then almost totally unable to answer my questions or just explain my situation and contradicted himself verbally and by his actions. From the other numerous and contradictory reviews it seems he's just erratic so not dependable.

Dr Lief is a very personable, highly professional and deeply caring physician. I have complete trust in him and would recommend him without reservation.

Dr. Lief has been my primary physician for over six years and I would absolutely recommend him to family and friends. Over the years I've come to him with a variety of ailments that he and his team have dealt with gracefully and courteously. When I had to have a surgery overseas in the UK he was remarkably flexible and helpful with British National Health Service and ensured that all of my records and tests were communicated properly.

I saw Dr. Lief recently for STD screening and starting PrEP. The waiting area is pleasant and quiet. Dr. Lief was patient and answered all of my questions. The woman who drew my labs was great. Dr. Lief then called me personally with my results. As well, unfortunately because one result was positive he took the time to review both the treatment and any other questions I had given I was a little upset to put it mildly. But Dr. Lief was very reassuring - everything you want in a doctor.

Dr. Lief has been my primary care physician since 2011. He is incredibly smart, caring, compassionate, and gives me great advice, not to mention excellent care. I never feel rushed during the consultations; he listens to my concerns, answers all of my questions, and provides several treatment options when appropriate. I recommend Dr. Lief highly, and am fortunate to continue to be under his care.

Dr. Lief has been excellent ever since I chose him as my primary care physician more than 5 years ago. He is very friendly when receiving me, and always remembers to ask how my wife is doing. I am always satisfied with the care I receive and our related discussion, and after each visit he sends a detailed write-up by mail indicating anything I may need to follow up on. He was also very helpful and supportive when I was diagnosed with lymphoma. I very highly recommend him!

This was my second visit with Dr. Lief. I had an annual physical which was great - he sent me a really detailed writeup of my results. This was unlike my previous doc who never contacted me and said "no news was good news." This past visit is what motivated me to post however - Dr. Lief was suggested to me by a friend who told me he's always is available for his patients. I was skeptical but despite being booked up he saw me the SAME DAY I called for an urgent matter. It was a lifesaver.

My first visit to Dr. Lief, on 6/16/16, was for a routine physical. A few days later, I experienced dizziness when standing up. I was on several medications and became concerned. I left a message for Dr. Lief and got a callback 3 days later. In a somewhat sarcastic tone, Dr. Lief expressed surprise that I had called so soon after seeing him. No apology was offered for the delay. On 10/31/16, I asked my pharmacist to call Dr. Lief and request an Rx for an inhaler. No response received to date.

my 2nd time going to dr. lief. I waited 30min in the waiting room with no indication of when I would be seen. I walked out and will find another doctor that respects people's time.

He spend 3 minutes with me, never read the copy's of my past medical records, I was at the office for an annual physical .This was my first time and my last time with this " Dr "

Complete lack of regard for patient time. Scheduled two visits with him first time waited 40 minutes then was told he was going to be late- fine one time it happens. Then scheduled a follow up, second time waited 30 minutes and then only after complaining was told he was delayed and u should reschedule! I'm here at his office why can't he! Also no apology, no excuse, no call to follow up- unprofessional at best unethical at worst- use a different doctor unless you have hours to waste
