Dr. Michael S Jacobson

Five stars are not enough for this gentleman and his staff. Amazing to watch him at work in the office. You won't find a better doctor if you are diagnosed with a detached retina. Wife was diagnosed with proliferative diabetic retinopathy about two years ago. She was essentially blind when she first visited the office. After surgery on both eyes, she is gradually getting her eyesight back, and was able to read to her grandchildren last month. Dr. J is like your dad in the office and your big brother before a surgery. Like a dad, he will let you know pretty quickly during an office visit if you are doing anything that will interfere with your recovery--like wearing eye makeup! If you are unaccustomed to going to an eye specialist, you may think that wait times are long. They are long because your eyes are not ready for a thorough exam until they are thoroughly dilated. We look forward to visits because everyone is so friendly, and we always learn something new from Dr. Jacobson.

Dr Jacobson is an expert in his field; his facilities (he's the founder) focus specifically on retinal disorders. I suffered a detached retina while I was in Atlanta for business and I feel very fortunate that I was referred to Dr Jacobson. I would recommend Georgia Retina in general (and Dr J in particular) to anyone needing a retinal specialist. If I lived in Atlanta, he would definitely be my doctor of choice.
