Dr. Michael Sheldon Horney

I found Dr Horney in a search for a hypnotherapist to treat my cyclic vomiting syndrome. Without going into too much detail, CVS was for me a debilitating condition that left me vomiting violently, unable to get out of bed or look at any kind of light, completely incapacitated, for up to a week a month. There is no cause or cure for it, according to traditional medicine. My online research showed that some people had found relief through hypnotherapy, so I contacted Dr Horney to see if he could help. He was very honest with me and said he had not heard of or treated CVS before, but he listened carefully to my story and followed up with his own extensive research. I had to cancel our first session at the last minute because of a CVS episode, and he was very understanding and rescheduled for as soon as I was feeling better. We had one session, during which he thoroughly explained every aspect of the process. He taught me methods for self-hypnosis that I can use daily and to prevent episodes. Using these techniques, I have successfully staved off the vomiting for three months and counting. I still get nauseous sometimes, but I have the tools to stop it from progressing. I am confident that one day soon, the nausea will stop as well, and the last two years of debilitating CVS will be a memory. Dr Horney is an exceptional practitioner of alternative medicine—caring, thorough, patient, and responsible. Unlike so many in the field, he does not drag out treatment or create issues to generate income for himself. He believes, as I do, in the body’s ability to heal and balance itself, and he is able to help “flip the switch” for that to happen. I worked out in the morning and really hurt my back badly. Worst yet, I was scheduled to take a vacation the same day. I called up Dr. Horney and asked him if he would see me. He went out of his way to ensure I got an appointment. He was very compassionate and sincere. A true professional. He assisted me and significantly improved my condition. Dr. Horney is by far one of the best people I've ever met. I started out as patient going for low back pain issues. After about a year I got the opportunity to work at his office on staff so I have been able to see both sides. I have seen time and time again how many people Dr. H has helped and how many people have expressed how wonderful and compassionate Dr. H is. He is a popular guy! He truly listens to his patients and makes everyone feel informed, heard and comfortable. Dr. Horney is the best person I have ever met as a human being and a GREAT chiropractor. I consider him a friend not a doctor. He is the only person I would tell anyone to see.

I would highly recommend Dr. Horney. He is treating me for chronic neck and back pain and is making a real difference in the quality of my life. Before going to Dr. Horney, I was suffering from a bad case of sciatica. I have definitely benefitted from his treatment and his advice about exercise, posture and general good back health practices.
