Dr. Michael I Harris

I was a patient of Dr. Harris when I was a baby 20 years ago, and I needed to write this now, for the benefit of other patients out there in the Marin County/Bay Area. I have Turner Syndrome. I was diagnosed LATE at 10 1/2 years old by Dr Harris. He never put the diagnosis together, even when I demonstrated the classic symptoms of this disorder, including many severe ear infections, short stature, and puffy hands, and hypothyroidism. I should have been genetically tested years prior by him as my pediatrician, and never was. I missed out on multiple years of being able to access growth hormone, essential for height and other key issues. Please, to those out there reading this, DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR. Find a doctor who will go beyond and actually read some medical journals to keep updated and educated and will be willing to put in the time to find and connect the dots about what is truly going on for your child. He was clearly not and I am forever affected because of this pediatrician. I hope for the sake of others, in the 10 plus years since I last saw this doctor, he has continued to learn and educate himself about rare genetic disorders and other rare conditions in order to not misdiagnose/late diagnose another child.
