We requested a letter from Dr Happel stating that my mother had dementia and that he had been treating her for several years. Dr. Happel was called almost daily and received multiple messages for a period of 2 weeks. He never answered me even when his nurse asked him to do so. Finally, we showed up at his office. He said he would do it for 50.00 . We had no choice. This is a man who treated my mom for years. The messages were read back to me when I called his company. I highly recommend Dr. Happel to anyone going through something neurological. He cares for his patients, is a great listener, and has a wonderful bedside manner. Lana, his receptionist, is a beautiful human being as well! Love them both!

He diagnosed me with a condition I did not have and then over medicated me for 10 years. Instead of finding the reason I was not responding to medication, he kept increasing medication dosage. I was made to feel that I was perhaps faking since I wasn’t responding to treatment. Tests and procedures were often ordered incorrectly and office did not respond to calls from providers he referred me to when treatment issues occurred.

Dr Happel takes his time with you. Office crew are very nice.

I gave this doctor 5 stars. He deserves more. He really listens to your concerns and sits with you for quite sometime.

Dr. Happel is very kind and my dad likes his very much. However, we have had serious issues with lab work not getting ordered correctly or orders not sent in to the lab or a problem with Quest lab on Cleary. No follow up by the doctor's office as I requested even though it has been two weeks since the last appointment. My dad's medication level in his bloodstream has therefore not been monitored for the last several months. I do not know if this problem is with the office or the physician or the lab.

I love Dr. Happel, he takes his time and listens. He cares about his patients!!!

He's the best neurologist in town. The office staff is very friendly and waiting room is comfortable and clean. I recommend Dr. Happel. He's wonderful, kind, and he listens to you. A++++

I have been seeing Dr. Happel for about 4 years now and every time I go to his office, I am treated with the utmost respect by his staff and him! He is very caring, listens to your issues, he ALWAYS asks how I’ve been doing and if I’ve experienced anything new or different from my last visit. He’s an AWESOME doctor! Very soft spoken, kind and Always greets you with his hand out and a smile!! ?? I have to say I’m doing MUCH better since I’ve been seeing him! I will continue seeing him as my Neurologist, never experienced a long wait to see him either. ?????????? Great doctor with a Great staff!!

Dr. Happel is the best. I feel this doctor cares about his patients, like few do these days. I never feel rushed during an appointment. He answers all of my questions and addresses all of my concerns. He has helped me to a tremendous amount and still strives for a complete cure. I will send any family or friend to him without hesitation.

I have been seeing Dr. Happel for over 5 years now and can't say enough good things about he and his team at Northlake Neurological.

Dr Happel is very knowledgeable, wait time is usually no more than 15 to 20 min, takes his time with you, does Botox for migraines which has been God sent and his bedside manner is incredible. Super personable.

He is thorough, compassionate, and dedicated. He not only knows what he is doing, but cares about his patients and the quality of their care. Have been seeing Dr Happel 3-4 X a year for over 10 years. Despite the changes physicians are faced with (crunch times by insurance & other government restrictions to health care) his patient/doctor visit HAS NOT changed. He continues to be thoroughly invested in himself & oath as a DOCTOR & YOUR PHYSICIAN. He listens, assesses, & attempts to help you with genuine care. You may wait but he will give you all the time you need. Can't ask anymore than that. Highly skilled as well. So schedule ASAP

I have never been able to see Dr. Happel any sooner than 45 minutes to an hour after my scheduled appointment, and have waited longer than that. I feel doctors should demonstrate respect for patients' schedules, and feel total disregard by this office. Happel's Metairie office staff is apathetic to patients' needs and demonstrates a general lack of personal regard. I think ALL doctors' offices need empathetic staff, ESPECIALLY when serving patients dealing with seizures and strokes.

Drs report was held up until my doctors office called dr Happel's office 2 weeks later. the day of my appointment for the paperwork. Non professional !

Very compassionate doctor, he has been my doctor for over 15 years. Used to drive from Alexandria to Metairie to see him, a 4 hour drive. He is very empathetic with the patient's situation. One of the best I have been treated by!
