As a follow-up, I found after the surgery that Fraterelli used 'glue' to close the surgery site for the hernia. I'm an old fashioned 'stitches' kind of guy, glue just doesn't seem as proper a method as stitches, quicker, sure, but long lasting? Not so sure about that. Oh, and I've never heard a word from he or his office since the surgery, not a 'how are you doing?' 'is there anything you need?' ....nah, not a word.

First, it took 6 weeks to schedule the Hernia surgery after the office appt. Had I not called it may have been longer. Followed the directions completely, didn't have a thing to eat or drink for 14 hours preceding surgery. But, since I hadn't catheterized for 4 hours the good doctor insisted a nurse catheterize me prior to surgery, which managed to scar the inside of my penis to the point of bleeding afterwards when urinating, not good. The doctor, I was told, spoke to me after surgery, didn't hear or recall a word, general anesthesia leaves you foggy for quite a while, hours. My face, this was a Hernia Surgery, looks like I was in a battle in the MMA ring, awful and I mean awful bruising on both cheeks, as with someone who has been punched hard in both sides of the face, looks nasty! I bled through my naval incision badly, onto my shirt and trousers, no bandages were used at any site of 3 incisions. I covered the one when I got home, but the others bled through onto my bed coverings overnight. Overall? A good anything is hard to find, the anesthesiologist was very precise in his explanation of how this would go, but I also expect it was he or a nurse that caused the bruising on my face. Fraterelli as I recall, other than 'hello' was brusque and uninformative.

Uses assisting surgeons that are not covered under insurance.will leave you with a big out of pocket cost!

My daughter had a great experience with this surgeon. She had issues in pregnancy and Dr. Fraterelli was kind compassionate and very knowledgeable . After the baby was born he performed the surgery and did am excellent job. Very grateful!

I had such an amazing experience with Dr. Fraterelli and cannot say enough about how wonderful he was to me and my family. I started having issues with my gallbladder beginning at 20 weeks gestation and he followed my case the entire time and made time to see me every time I was in the hospital. He even came to greet me in the ER after I had surgery. He is very competent and did a wonderful job making sure that I was healthy enough to go home and care for my newborn son! Wonderful surgeon and physician and very honest and caring with his patients! Dr Fraterelli is an amazing surgeon. He is caring and compassionate. He explains procedures in a comprehensive manner . I highly recommend Dr Fraterelli!

From beginning to end Dr Fraterelli was wonderful. He is very down to earth and explained things so I understood everything that was happening. My surgery went perfectly. I had some other complications and dr fraterelli checked on my every day twice and even three times a day while I was in the hospital. My biggest compliment is he allayed my fears. Dr. Fraterelli did a great job explaining my surgery beforehand and answering my questions. He even made a personal house visit post-surgery to remove a surgical drain, just so I wouldn't have to wait for a couple of extra days due to a holiday weekend. The surgery went well despite some extensive inflammation they discovered during the procedure. I healed quickly and without any complications. Careful of this Doctor. He will just walk buy your hospital room without even being your Doctor and send you a bill. Out of network mind you. He will come by and say "He heard about my case from downstairs, and glad he isn't working on you" and send a bill. The following day he comes by in street clothes and says "Hope your getting out of here" and then says "Take Care". And you will get 2 days of consultation bills. Someone needs to investigate this guy. I'm sure this happens to many people daily. Zero Stars here. Stay away. Not that you may even have a choice. Careful of this Doctor. Fantastic surgeon. When my wife needed surgery immediately, he was there. He demonstrated great wisdom in deciding on a course of action for a very complicated cancer case. Well, basically my impression is pretty poor of this place. I felt the room was unclean. I also strongly feel, I was not treated professionally. Mainly it was how they went about assessing whether I was numbed sufficiently, they are clearly in a hurry. In a dental office for instance they use a needle to see if you can feel anything.... This guy used a scalpel, and not a little poke either. Also my stiches broke less than 48 hours later. Probably going to urgent Care after writing this to get stiched back up..... Needed gallbladder surgery and Dr F. & staff fit me in quickly - The Dr & staff took the EXTRA time to explain everything to me & my husband. Incredible !! Too many great things to say about Dr & staff. I have already referred friends.

Dr. Fraterelli has an aire of confidence about him that exudes when you meet him. He will not beat around the bush to tell you what the situation is, but instead he will explain things that the normal person could understand. He will take the time to explain things to you, with a graceful attitude. His bedside manner is great and he will go out of his way to take care of things for you. You become the only thing that he has to do when you see him.
