The best back doctor I have ever had!!! He fixed my spine and it is healing beautifully. My scar is minimal and he really took very good care of my spine. He is so kind and very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions that I have. I was recommended to him through my regular doctor and she highly recommended him. Dr. Donahue is a great doctor and he actually cares about his patients. I had surgery for bone spurs on my foot and he is really a great surgeon. I also see Dr. Bartkiw for my hands. They're both the best.

Doctor Donahue ruined my life. Was suffering from sciatic pain. He claimed his procedure would help, by shooting three small rods into my r side . Well after seeing my regular fabulous Doctor Easton. / He was going to remove one that Donahue said was loose. Little did we know that rod went into my hardwear from a previous surgery from Dr Easton. Doctor Easton said there was no way he could remove it. So he had to brace it down. I’m living in pain 24/7 . Now the pain is going down my leg. I WISH I NEVER EVER MET THAT MAN!! Such a mistake. ! BEWARE!!!!I had scheduled a surgery with Donahue. Claiming he would remove and replace. Thank the lord I went with my gut. Cancelled his surgery and went to Dr Easton. Donahue saw his MRI and knew he couldn’t remove and replace it. Was going to still put me under !!!

1 year out of surgery and still have some major complications with my lower back. Not the results expected!

Dr Donahue and his Pa Sara were able to tell me what happened to the nerve in my buttocks after a MVA. The other 2 specialist just wanted to send me for surgury and one of them did not want to even treat because it was a MVA. Thanks to Dr Donahue and Sara Im on my way for treatment.

Worst decision of my entire life was to choosing Michael P. Donahue to do my bunion surgery. Over 2 years and the pain is still keeps me from wearing shoes. One of my incision was infected and bleeding, went to see him. He didn’t give treatment for it. He said to wear a sneakers and go to work on crutches. With an infected and bleeding wound. Had a second opinion the dr said I need to back to Donahue right away for treatment and wound care. I went back to Donahue he said well it’s not that bad to take you to the surgery room and perform another surgery on you with an attitude. Current podiatrist confirmed my toe is off alignment, numbness and nerve damaged across the top so the sneakers is very painful. Scars is obvious and not aligned. I have to have another surgery to correct the damaged he did to my foot. My toe to still leaning towards my middle toe which is causing bunion on my little toe. I wear a size bigger than my regular size in wide sneakers still very painful and numbness Awful ????. Please do not go to Donahue for your bunion surgery. I met with Sara Wierzbicki PA. She was awesome. Listened and was very thorough.

After 4 surgeries with Dr. Donahue, still have permanent foot drop, severe nerve pain, and foot paralysis that I woke up with after back fusion with Dr. Donahue. He kept telling me "temporary " and here almost 2 years later, still have, with severe nerve pain that was never this bad before surgery. And no answers.

Dr Donahue is a horrible surgeon. He operated twice on the same toe/foot and cut the tendon on the wrong toe. To this day he denies it even though the toe doesn’t work and hurts with every step I take. He simply said “stretch it”. If you make a mistake, that’s human, be honest, fix it. But Nope, not him!

Dr. Michael Donahue helped me get my life back. I will never be without some pain and discomfort with my condition, but now I can go about my daily routine without extreme nerve pain! I will never be able to thank him enough! Bright Blessings to him and his staff!

Dr. Michael Donahue did an amazing surgery repairing my sister’s ankle after a previous surgery that did not take by another doctor. She was walking on the side of her foot and in constant pain. She is now walking with no pain and her foot is straight. God bless you Dr. Donahue! Highly recommended him and his office.

Easy scheduling. Minimal wait time. Dr. Donahue took time to examine my Achilles, explain the problem and answer questions. His assistant Lisa was quick to help me arrange necessary testing. Really great experience.

They are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They take the time to be thorough which in the days of covid isn’t happening at most medical facilities. My only issue is sometimes the wait is long but dr Donahue and his PA are worth it. Great surgeon that cares.

After waiting 2 months for my appointment after spinal injury. Everything approved ahead of time through the VA and military insurance, www told we don't see veterans or except or participate in VA even if they authorize direct billing. Get some real insurance and come back.

I was misdiagnosed for years with neuropathy and my pain was so severe, I couldn’t drive for a year. I’m 48 years old my back was killing me and it was getting so hard to get around, felt depressing! Finally got in the hands of Dr. Donahue and his wonderful P.A Sarah! Life changing surgery! It was a sciatic fusion. The moment I woke up, I literally felt the blood flowing in my legs! Dr. Donahue and his staff are amazing and truly care about their patients! My husband was also a patient and recipient of 5 spinal fusions at the time the world shut down for Covid-19 and he was released from the hospital a few days early and the staff at his office called daily to check on us! Had dr. Donahue install my scs.he put the scs in my back right side. After mos. Of pain at the battery location.went to see him and he said i dont take "medicaid" and good luck to you.i said im in pain all the time and the battery has moved to almost vertical from horizontal position. I went to the er in horrible pain sobbing .when i got there they called dr. Donahues office.so they gave me 6 pain pills and discharged me!!! because dr. Donahue said i was "fine" without even coming to hospital to see me at the hospital.more mos and pain goes by.i finally go to henryford er. nuero surgury dept. and had to get emergency surgury to relocate the scs to another location,because it was almost out of my skin on the corners and had horrible bruising and exstremly tender.it was very scary.and doctor donahue never did apologize.any kind of help would have been appreciated. Dr Donahue did my sacroiliac fusion. Prior to surgery, reviewed everything with me, explained everything, and actually took time to listen. Was honest and explained might not help my back problems, but was the best route to start with. Awaiting fusion surgery with him now. His office staff are polite and efficient.

The office is organized, maintains privacy, and has a good rapport with patients. I was never seen by Dr. Donahue. I was seen by his PA. She was knowledgeable, helpful, and explained things well but I was scheduled to see Dr. Donahue himself. I don't mind a PA and she was very helpful but neither the office or PA explained that he wouldn't be a part of the visit.

He did two fusions on my back. Both were successful.

I was having awful pain in my neck Dr Donahue did several fusions in my neck and I havent had any pain in my neck for over 3 years So when I had lower back pain of course I went to Dr Donahue the only doctor I would see Dr Donahue had to do several fusions on my back and lower lumbar before this the pain was so bad I couldn't sleep or do anything pain was almost to much after Dr Donahue did the surgerys I have no more pain in my back hes amazing him and his assistant Sara really cared about me they always took the time to explain everything to me and my wife I am so grateful to him I would recommend him to everyone he is a doctor that really cares about you thanx so much to him and Sara his staff are wonderful also always polite and friendly if you need a doctor that will take care of you hes the one!!!!

Michael Donahue just about ruined my life by ignoring my chronic pain associated with the 2 spine surgeries he subjected me to. I trusted him but he fell quite short of doctor patient trust. He is too arrogant, ignorant and not experienced enough to read his x-rays of my spine. The bone graft he used on my spine never fused; my body rejecting the bone graft, allograft and whatever else he used on me. He must've been absent or failed the x-ray reading class in Med School. His arrogance comes from not showing my x-ray to any colleague down the hall. That ortho doctor would at once recognize that my spine never fused. After Donahue gave up on me, I walked around for 2 1/2yrs with 16 - 2" screws banging around, damaging nerves, muscle and tissue, which can never be "fixed". I have and will live with sometimes excruciating chronic pain. Please do not trust him with all the delicacies of a human spine. I wouldn't let him do surgery on my dog. There are many much more competent ortho surgeons in Oakland, Macomb and Genesee Counties. Great specialist. I just had my surgery on August 8th I am happy so far. Everyone in that office has been nothing but kind and on the ball.

Unfortunately, you can't please EVERYBODY. Everybody heals differently. Having said that, Dr. Donahue completed my back surgery 6 years ago. It's certainly been put to the test with my job. I'm a Detroit firefighter and am constantly lifting, pulling, pushing, etc. I couldn't be happier. He was very honest in telling me that I'll be back because of my line of work. Patients see more of the medical staff, and patients are (customers) form a option about doctors from how the "Medical staff" handles patients (customers) at doctors practice. We drive a hour one way to go see Dr. Donahue and would travel much further if we had too. Best Doctor ever. If you need a great Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Donahue is the one to see. Staff is very nice. Sara his PA is also wonderful.

I'm four days post op after my cervical surgery. This is my third cervical surgery but the first time Dr Donahue has done my surgery. I can't stress enough what a wonderful Dr he is and how well I'm doing. I honestly believe I'm finally going to have a brighter future. Finding a good doctor is like trying to find a good lawyer or mechanic. It's trial & error. I went to 3 other doctors before I found Dr. Donahue. Yes, I went through all their tests & trials for over 2 years. I felt like a guinea pig after awhile. Nothing was helping. Dr. Donahue also ran tests and we talked & talked. He told me what the others never did, what the problem was! I received treatment and I couldn't be happier. I cannot say enough about Dr. Donahue, his staff and his practice. I'm a happy camper. Dr. Michael Donahue is an amazing surgeon. He also has great bedside manner. He revised my first lumbar spinal fusion that was done elsewhere. He found I had a loose screw. He also fused my next disc up. The recovery from the surgery was so much easier than my prior fusion. He is compassionate, explains things well, and is dedicated to his patients well being. His P.A. Sarah is also wonderful! They are a great team. I won't trust my spine with any other surgeon. Starting to look like a fusion in my neck is inevitable. I would highly recommend Dr. Donahue & his PA Sara. I have been seeing Dr. Donahue since January for my Cervical situation. I was recommended to see him from my Spinal doctor after she did the Cervical MRI seeing the problem that I had 2 herniated discs. Donahue & his PA Sara did my surgery on 11th of April 2016. I had no pain once so ever, the only thing that was normal was that I had a sore throat but that was basically it. I hardly used the pain meds that I was given! Give them 5 stars!

I am still recovering from the surgery I had but Dr. Donahue and his wonderful PT Sara are both professional and basically fantastic! They were always sensitive, well communicative and so far the results from he surgery are brilliant. The treatment and sensitivity after a dog attack was something that I am sure not many Doctors and their Physician's Assistants can do too well. Both Sara and Dr. Donahue are excellent.

I went to see Dr. Donahue after another doctor screwed up my foot in an earlier surgery. He walked in gave me three options, we discussed them and decided what we needed to do to fix the problem. He got me in to an appointment for surgery 2 weeks from that date. Then had to go back once a week for 4 weeks he removed the stitches, 2 months after my surgery we had my pins removed. He continued to see me twice after that to check to see how my foot was healing, I would absolutely recommend him!

One of the best in the country. He performed Cervical C4-C5 fusion on my neck on Sept 2, 2015... I woke up and the numbness was gone..! After two years of putting off surgery, he was recommended by a close family friend. I'm very glad I took their advice. I've since moved to TN and hope I can find the caliber of professionalism of Dr. Donahue, P.A. Sarah and their staff.. Thanks Dr.Donahue & P.A. Sarah. Dr. Donahue recommended back surgery as a last resort. I was in a lot of pain. He had me try physical therapy and ultimately injections instead of surgery. I now live with no pain and I am in the best shape of my life. He's a great doctor and has a really friendly and professional staff. I also never ended up needing surgery. I am forever grateful for his honest approach.
