Dr. Darowish is a brilliant hand diagnostician & surgeon. When another doctor in a different system failed to listen to me, I switched to Dr. D, who immediately suspected the problem (he actually listened to me!). While he did not rush us into surgery, I use my hands in my work & he performed an intricate surgery involving a miniscule rotation of a bone in my hand (healed wrong because the other doctor failed to listen to me). The surgery was a big success, and I'm now fully functional again with fine motor coordination in my hand. He always took his time, was very pleasant and concerned, was good humored, and explained options clearly. I have nothing but admiration of him and his work and am happy to provide this well-deserved review! I later learned he had written articles on the intricate type of surgery he did on me. Your hands will be in very good hands with this very talented and concerned hand specialist! Brilliant.

I've known Dr. Darowish and his staff for over 5 years and am extremely pleased I chose him to care for my many joint problems. After going to many doctors/ surgeons he finally took me seriously for my shoulder pain I had been experiencing for years. Surgery is the last thing he recommends for a problem. Besides most insurance companies won't approve surgery unless other noninvasive treatments are tried. He gives it to you straight whether he feels surgery is necessary at whatever point in a patients treatment. Once he sees other treatments are not improving a patients condition he will say at least, to me, you tell me what to do and I'll do it. I am a particularly slow healer so after my shoulder surgery it was about a year I noticed I no longer had even mild discomfort in my shoulder and no longer needed to avoid or even hesitate with different activities. The man works a grueling schedule in the O. R., clinic days when he sees patients in physical therapy as well as his office patients. It is not uncommon to hear Dr. Darowish say oh I'm sure there's other doctors more deserving of a certain recommendation or accolade. He's not your typical doctor.. because he will call his patients on his phone to speak to you and will continue to do so until he reaches them. How many doctors do you know who will actually say he or she will pray for you to find a place to live before Christmas which he did for me. Not many I know of who do that. I moved into my new place 2 days after Christmas a year ago. In am extremely grateful for all he's done to get me on the road to living a much healthier life than a few years ago. He lied to my travelers insurance, blamed me being in so much pain after my CTRS on keinsbock, I told him to do an EMG to prove the scar tissue was mocking CTS & he refused. Because of his lie of the keinsbock , I had my WC people ignore me for 6 months until a few weeks ago when they discovered I was telling the truth them and every doctor I have been working with can’t believe he did this, and because of him I also lost my job and could have been fixed months ago. Says my case worker Please don’t go to a doctor that puts his patients through this much pain for his ego. I went to Dr. Darowish for a second opinion and I was very satisfied with his opinion about my options. I had tennis elbow and radial tunnel surgery with good results. Everyone from pre and post-OP were exceptional.

Spends time with his patients which is always important. Do your research before going along with a surgeon’s recommendation. After three surgeries on the same finger by the same surgeon and still no improvement. I made a big mistake to have a PIP joint implant.

Excellent hand surgeon. I am very fortunate to have been referred to such a wonderful doctor! Highly recommended!

Very professional and personable but.....Be aware and do your research on any statistic given to you about surgery success rates and number of surgeries he has done, especially in PIP implants. Get second and third opinion before jumping into this surgery. I Experienced 4 PIP failures, my options are now limited to what can be done with my constant pain and disfigured looking finger

My left hand was drawn into an electric hoist. The top digit of my index finger was DE gloved and fractured, my middle finger was ripped out of the socket, twisted to the right with several fractured bones, my ring finger was fractured, my thumb was sliced, my pinky was fractured, yeah it was a real twisted mess. Dr. Darowish painstaking put it all back together! I also have MS and am confined to a wheelchair. He took the time to listen and help me regain the use of my hand! An amazing man!

Awesome doctor! Very knowledgeable and intuitive. I broke all my finger on my hand from a fall. His team is exceptionally great in recovery process! The P-A that works with him is very knowledgeable and helpful. I wouldn't entrust my care to anyone else!
