I am so very happy I found Dr. Contreras! I wasn't aging well and hated it. But, like so many others, I am terrified of looking like some desperate and overdone participant on a cable reality show. Enter Dr. Contreras. He has a great eye - and just the right touch. He spends time in our appointments getting things just right. I never look over worked and receive a lot of surprised looks when I reveal my age. I am open with people about my routine and they're always calling me asking me for his number. I think that is really how you know if you've found the right doctor. Do you look like you've had work done or do you look good? Equally as important, I trust his opinion. When I ask him about other costly procedures, I am given an honest answer... perhaps what he might tell his sister in the same situation. I am not pushed into things that maybe I don't need yet, and I appreciate that. For reference, I am 47 years old and I see him every quarter for Dysport (Botox) and filler every 6 months. I also take advantage of the products sold on-site and try to schedule routine micro needling appointments with About Skin's esthetician. If you're on the fence, get off it and call him. I love this practice and office. The staff is very friendly and I never have to wait to long when scheduling an appointment. The medical attention to my needs is appreciated and accurate.

I've had problem skin since I was a teenager and have been treated by many dermatologists. None compare to Dr. Contreras. He has treated me for a variety of skin problems including skin cancers. He saw me through a very difficult surgery on my face to remove a pre-melanoma that had been misdiagnosed by another dermatologist from a different practice. I sought him out for a second opinion on it. After the surgery he recommended several laser treatments to minimize the scar. Now you can barely tell I have a 3" wide scar across my face. I will never forget his kindness and compassion then and now as I continue to have reocurring skin cancers. I trust him completely and would highly recommend him. He's the best!

Dr. Michael Contreras is the best! He is top of his field, expert in all of the latest treatments, and really cares about his patients. You always feel you are in the best of hands. His leadership in the field of dermatology is evident in his bio on the website. Recently, in my late 40s, I lost some weight but my skin didn't bounce back. Dr. Contreras reviewed a broad range of treatment options with me based on my goals. I decided to go for it with a non-surgical CO2 ablative erbium laser treatment, as well as Kybella for my chin(s). :) The results have been amazing. They virtually eliminated all of my fine lines, crows feet, sun spots, wrinkles around my mouth, deep wrinkles in my cheeks and forehead, jowls, loose skin in chin & neck. You’d never know I had it done; it looks so natural, which was really important to me. Dr. Contreras gave me the best possible expertise and personal attention and care throughout. Sabrina Saunders, Cosmetic Coordinator, is super knowledgeable and was a great resource and support before, during, and after treatment. She followed up with me every few days to make sure I was feeling good and healing well. Pre-retirement sun over-exposures really do come back to haunt you. Dr. Contreras encourages use of sun block, yet doesn't fault those who chose to do otherwise. Instead he puts in play a regular screening for skin / sun issues and eliminates them as necessary. With the worst resolved, he is now offering treatment to prevent pre-cancerous blemishes from progressing beyond that stage using a less aggressive UV light trigger technique. It works.

Dr Contreras is a excellent Dr. I've been coming to About Skin for a few years. I am very comfortable here. I am very confident with the procedures they've done. Dr Contreras is very knowledgeable. Lindsey is the best Blue Light specialist in town.

Dr. Contreras is wonderful going on 6 years as a patient. I have lived a life in the sunshine with my job as a ski patroller and in my outdoor pursuits. He has always kept a very close eye on my skin and we treat things as they occasionally show up. I find he has a very proactive approach to my skin especially since he knows my history of exposure. I also trust Dr. Contreras to care for my teenage son. He removed a mole in a very visible location and it healed up giving my son more confidence!

Dr. Contreras diagnosed my basal cell and was concerned. He has closely monitored my skin and I see him every 6 months for follow up. He is wonderful!

After my surgery with Dr. Cohen 6 years ago I was referred to Dr. Contreras for my regular skin checks. I'm disappointed that my 2nd cancer was not diagnosed sooner. I had flakiness on my scar for years and never knew it was an issue. I had the blue light treatment after my 1st surgery on Dr. Cohen's recommendation. I am now having more treatments under Dr. Cohen's care that were never recommended by Dr. Contreras over the last 6 years.

It's not so much Dr. Contreras himself, but the whole office in general doesn't care much about medical dermotology - they only care about cosmetic dermotolgy! So unless you are getting cosmetic procedures, DON'T GO! It's nearly impossible to get someone on the phone promptly to make appointments or ask questions. In fact, it's unprofessional how little regard they have to returning phone calls or helping you in a timely fashion.

Dr Contreras did great job come up with a plan on the best way to treat multiple skin cancers that I had. He is the first dermatologist I had ever met with and I had many skin issues when I came to see him for my first visit.

Dr Contreras is such a pleasure to see. He is thorough, accurate and uses the latest technology to keep me healthy. My family has a history of melanoma, so I'm very concerned about what can happen. I have great confidence and no longer worry that something will be missed. In addition, Lyndsay and the staff are professional, knowledgeable and very caring.

Very good but wish doctor had more time to discuss questions regarding other unusual skin discoveries and why they occure.
