Dr. Michael A Bentz

Dr. Bentz really is the best! He and Paula were amazing through the whole process. I lost a crown Friday night, and they came in on a Saturday to help me. It turns out I needed a root canal, I have always thought root canal was the worst thing that could happen. Dr. Bentz did a great job explaining it to me and helping me put my mind at ease over the thing. I was always anxious about going to a dentist and especially this root canal. This was by far the best experience I have had at a dentist. A day later and I have zero pain, my only regret was that I didn’t go here years ago! 10 stars. Also, their Golden Retriever “Rowdy” came up to me for some pets before Dr. Bentz started and that made my day and helped with the stress of the upcoming dental work.

I came in for a tooth ache and was told I had 8 cavities that I needed to get fillings for. I was confused since I'd never had a cavity before but was told it was perfectly normal and not to worry since I had "great insurance". I later called to cancel my appointment and explained I wanted a second opinion from my dentist back home first. After this I was never able to get ahold of this office again. I wanted to request they transfer my x-rays to avoid being exposed to the radiation twice but I guess maybe they wanted to make it harder for me to get the second opinion. When I saw my old trusted dentist he did his own x-rays and scans and only found one cavity, which Bentz actually missed. It seems like this office was looking for a payday when I walked in with my "great insurance". I would encourage anyone reading this to find a different dentist or at least seek a second opinion when he tells you he's found a bunch of cavities with his "special" methods Some more nice things: Bentz told me I needed to get the fillings right away to fill in the grooves in my teeth so I would "never get cavities on top of my teeth again ". Yeah right. The pricing on the fillings seemed terrible. They told me it'd be $100 per filling AFTER my insurance which covers 90%

I have been coming in to see Dr. Bentz and his staff for almost 20 years now. Everyone is always so friendly and the dental work I’ve gotten done there has always been top notch. The fillings I’ve gotten have lasted a long time and I’ve always been impressed with all the technology used in the office. I will keep coming back and I love my teeth!

I got a warm neck pillow and he even took a photo of my tooth so I could see. I am no longer in pain thank goodness. I will continue my service here from now on. Thank you guys! Update: 5/19/2022 I am still coming to Paula and Dr Bentz and I honestly can't say enough good things about them. He put a crown on yesterday and fixed up a cavity. I felt nothing the whole time and today I feel pretty darn good!! My past experiences with other dentists left me a little traumatized and ever since going to Dr Bentz, they have made me feel so comfortable and I won't be going anywhere else that's for sure. They're stuck with me lol. Thank you again guys !!! Update 8/18/2022 Went in again today to get a cavity filled (yes, I have awful teeth that always need work) and again, it was a very nice experience. I've been traumatized by dentistry for years and I'm just now starting to not get sick to my stomach when going to see Dr Bentz and Paula. They are becoming friends of mine and even though I've moved out of Boulder, I still drive to them, I'll never change dentists again, Dr Bentz will have to kick me out ???? Zero pain. Comfortable chair, warm neck pillow, noise canceling headphones and nitrous gas. They really take care of their patients and I send everyone who asks to them. My husband will be starting to go to them next week for his care too. I HIGHLY recommend this facility. It's also very affordable. UPDATE 3/16/24: Still coming to see the amazing Dr Bentz and paula!!! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place and these two amazing people. Dr Bentz has fixed at least 10 teeth in my mouth and I've never experienced what I have here. The anxiety coming to the dentist is slowly starting to become a positive reinforcement ???? if that makes sense. Hey,it's the small things. I've grown to truly care about them both (and of course Rowdy, and our precious angel Amber ???? ????). They've become family. And, for the first time in my adult life, my mouth doesn't hurt! I hadn't gone to a dentist for almost two years, and I have to say I had the best visit I've had at any dentist here. Dr. Bentz and Paula were so welcoming and I felt the most comfortable I have felt. Many thanks to them!

The best dentist I have ever found ! They work with my dental anxiety really well, and they make me feel very comfortable and taken care of

Dr. Bentz and Paula are an amazing dental team. They provide clear explanations of their treatments. I always feel really comfortable during my exams and treatments. I never feel like I am rushed through the visit, which makes me feel like they are doing a thorough job. They are both very friendly, and they make an effort to get to know me such that I don't feel like a number. Instead, I know that they are looking out for my health.

My daughter visited for the first time last week after years of negative experiences at other dentists. My daughter has serious anxiety. She has had a cut lip by a dentist and had 5 years of braces that left numerous cavities. Needless to say, this was not a good experience. She went to see Dr. Bentz and Paula with her dad after another dentist said she might need a root canal. OMG! Well Dr. Bentz gave her a root canal! She said it was the best experience she has ever had at a dentist! They gave her a heated neck wrap, a blanket and carmex for her lips so they wouldn't get dry. They were so nice and explained everything as they were going along. I can't wait to schedule my visit!????Much love to you Paula and Dr. Bentz!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Bentz for 45 years (!) and have found the dental service very professional and beneficial to my oral health. I would highly recommend him for one’s dental care! As the years add on, I continue to be very very satisfied with Dr. & Paula Bentz.

I have been seeing Dr. Bentz for a number of years and had great experiences. It is never fun to get a crown, but he does a great job. My most recent crown was a really painless experience and I am happy with the results.

Dr. Michael Bentz, along with Paula Bentz have been my taking care of my dental health from my first dental appointment around the age of 4-5 years old to this day (27). They even have the original Polaroid photo they took of me over 20 years ago taped to my file they use to this day. My only concern with them is being afraid they'll go into retirement. I honestly don't know what I'd do without them. They have added years of life to my teeth. I remember being terrified as a child to have dental appointments, Dr. Bentz had no problem being calm and having the patience to make sure I was as comfortable as possible before doing any procedure on my teeth from childhood until today. (And I did not make it easy as a toddler lol) If you're looking for your child's first time dental appointment, Dr. Bentz has the experience to make sure it will be easy, comfortable, and as pain free as possible your kiddo. I cannot put into words how much trust I have in him and his staff. Dispite coming in on an unexpected visit, the office was extremely welcoming and kind. As a new patient, and being a student out of state, they were very helpful in setting me up and getting right to work. I left feeling better and comforted by them! Amber and Rowdy are a fantastic welcome crew and bring lots of smiles.

I love how personal the visit was! I got a root canal with no numbing injection whatsoever, and it was a traumatic experience that I will never forget. It was a few years ago, and it still haunts me.

In my experience, Dr. Michael A Bentz and Paula are a skilled team which will get you scammed to get money out of you and your insurance company, while damaging your teeth and making you think you are being helped. Last year, my college grad daughter came for the first appointment and was charmed like everyone else who gets impressed by high end tech office and nice and helpful staff. But when she was scheduled to come back to do six fillings in her teeth I got very alarmed. More so when I learned, several of these would be replacements of recent fillings. They offered an extra free cleaning, I presume to fish for more work on the patient. There’s not enough time in the world to provide every detail of my horrible experience here over the past 4 months, but I just felt the need to post this because of the surprisingly high reviews this office has. I understand he’s been in this industry for 40+ years; himself and the employees are nice people, but the work he did on me will forever haunt me. I went in for a cleaning because my husband referred me. First off I could hardly understand Dr. Bentz. He talked so fast and did not pronunciation so I could not understand 99% of what he said. It almost seems as if he has had a stroke. My teeth cleaning was great. When Dr. Bentz came back in to look at my teeth and to use the laser on them I was very skeptical about it all. He said that I had 3 teeth that were needing to be fixed. We looked at my pictures they took and he said that I had amalgam in on e of my teeth. I told him that I had all my amalgam taken out years ago and they were scrambling to make excuses for the picture. I think they were using pictures of someones else teeth to get more money out of me. I went into another dentist to get a second opinion and to ask him about the laser he uses and he told me that all my teeth were great and that he does not recommend the laser as it has a high rate of error. I did call the office numerous times with no call back. I was also promised a gift card that they have yet to send me. I do not recommend this dentist! I have recently visited and had work done at Boulder Dentistry. The technology they utilize is modern, including digital imaging, laser-decay-thingy, and a mini camera. Important to note - both times I have been in, I was seen within the first 10 minutes of my scheduled appointment. I liked that, from the minute I stepped foot into the practice I felt a warm, authentic welcome from the staff, and the dogs (which are great, chill, and non-humping non-barking type). I observed other patients smiling, laughing and interacting with the staff like they were old friends, and I took that as re-assuring. During my first consultation Dr. Bentz and Christina walked me through the processes they use via info-videos, and that was nice. It gave me an opportunity for a Q&A, and not once did I feel rushed through the process. When it came time for some dental intervention that involved all my favorite mid-evil torture devices (drills/needles in my mouth), my anxiety was calmed by the presence of the staff, noise cancelling head phones and confidence that these folks know what they are doing. To close out, Paula took time to break down my insurance, which is probably similar to un-scrambling the Da'Vinci code. She helped me understand how my insurance works, and how to strategically approach my care plan. She has a very warm presence and sets the tone of the practice. I could go on an on. I'm sad that this guy is still in business! My husband & I went to him many years ago and he did a lot of completely unnecessary work on us (as later determined by another dentist). My husband, who's never had a cavity, all of a sudden got multiple cavities, and I had several root canals. When we couldn't keep up with the dental expenses and decided to switch dentists, we were informed that we didn't need any of the work he had performed (we brought in previous x-rays). As a college kid searching for a dentist, I ended up finding Dr. Bentz. I was greeted by warm smiles and delightful staff. The atmosphere of the office is extremely inviting. Amber and Rowdy, the dogs, definitely help make every visit an experience instead of another dreaded trip to the dentist. Dr. Bentz is very gentle. Paula is so pleasant and helpful and his assistant makes you feel so comfortable! They go out of their way to make your experience non stressful! Great and wonderful office.

If you want one chipped tooth to turn into months of mouth pain, shotty dental work, and repeated visits to other dentists bad mouthing the horrendous work this guy does then this is the dentist for you. I went in for a repair and he tried to tell me that almost every tooth in my mouth was on the verge of having a cavity. After put a resin fill into a tooth that he insisted we drill (we didn't, it was an easy fix) it was determined the fill was 3x to big and sitting directly on my nerve because he drilled to far. It is now two years later and my tooth still has not been fixed. I now grind my teeth because of what he did and my entire smile has started to shift. The BBB should shut this scam artist down for his shady targeting of unsuspecting college kids. I highly recommend anyone who is considering using this guy go check his yelp page. His Google or Facebook reviews are inaccurate and only one side of the picture.!!!! GO TO YELP! ! Read his yelp reviews. They seem to give a more accurate account of Bentz's work. My mouth is still in pain from work that he did. He told me I had 16 cavities while several other dentists found 1-3. Letting this guy drill my teeth was one of the biggest mistakes of my life.
