Dr Bartifield is very professional and understanding he takes the time needed with you

Due to a recent request via email to provide feedback about my patient experience, I decided to give my true and honest review on Dr. Bartfield based on my many interactions with him. I had a follow up appointment after having an ectopic pregnancy and removal of my left tube. Night of the surgery Dr. Bartfield informed my husband and mother I had endometriosis. If we decided to conceive again, we would need to make an appointment as soon as we received, a positive pregnancy test. So, the pregnancy would monitored very early. During my follow up Dr. Bartfield, immediately recommended us to see a fertility specialist and he strongly advised against natural conception. This blew my husband and I away. Why the change in tone? Leading up to the ectopic pregnancy I had expressed my health concerns to Dr. Bartfield. My concerns fell on deaf ears. It made sense that he would find Endometriosis. When I ask him what stage of Endometriosis did, he suspect. He couldn’t answer me. He then proceeded to say, “it was endometriosis and/or scar tissue and he would have taken my right tube as well, but he didn’t have authorization to.” He showed me zero empathy. He then proceeded to tell me I’m able to go back to work, full duty. I explained I still was very tender and felt bruised. I also, explained that I’ve had difficulty holding my child without pain. His response “yeah, you just had surgery, but you can go back to work.” I have a physical job where I’m constantly moving, including pushing, pulling, and lifting. I explained this. Again, he stated I can go back to work full duty and light duty will not an option. He then told me that it was “only keyhole surgery and women go back to work after a week.” Once again, I explained I needed more time off and everyone’s body is different. He continued to disregard my pain. When I told him I’m feeling a tugging sensation on my left pelvic area. He stated “yeah, it’s probably more scar tissue forming.” Just a nonchalant attitude. From my prospective I was treated very cruel and cold. I was mistreated and felt less than a human. Dr. Bartfield even followed my husband and I out of the examination room, to the elevator, barking at us because I had, had enough of his condescending behavior. I got a second opinion and the doctor confirmed I’m still inflamed and needed an additional two weeks to recover. Dr. Bartfield is unbelievably unprofessional. No person, place or thing should experience this type of mistreatment, period. I’m very upset that I put up with this behavior for so long, over two years. Quite frankly, I’m TRAUMATIZED. Ladies we are our biggest advocate. As an African American woman, we have the highest maternal mortality rate. Dr. Bartfield was never in sync with my needs as my gynecologist. Based on my interactions with Dr. Bartfield, I was treated very unfairly, and my pain/ concerns were ALWAYS diminished and silenced. Not to mention when I delivered my first, he refused to sign my disability papers for postpartum but prescribed me an antidepressant. Furthermore, I was scolded when I refused the TDAP/Flu shot while pregnant. No one should accept this kind of behavior from any medical professional of any kind. If a medical professional doesn’t make you feel safe/heard, please do yourself a favor and find a new provider ASAP.

This practice has been outstanding. It is refreshing to find a small group of doctors who truly care about their patients from every step of the experience. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Dr. Bartfield has been there for us every step of the way. His disposition is always pleasant and he makes us feel comfortable no matter what. We have successfully delivered 3 children under his care and he made everything very easy. While we so value his expertise and experience, he is also just a really, really nice person. No need to look further. You have found the best OBGYN in town.

Dr. Bartfield is amazing. I feel that he completely cares about his patients and their families. I have been seeing him for over 10 years and have come to him with some complicated situations and he has always put me at ease by telling me exactly what was happening, why, what my options were. I have had to call him after hours and he was always kind, attentive, and didn’t rush through things - even at 2:00 am. I feel very lucky to have found him as my doctor.

As a patient of 6 years, I can confidently say Dr. Bartfield has always provided excellent, high quality care as my doctor. He successfully delivered my 3 children, and with each delivery his calm sense of confidence made me feel at ease. During both the pregnancy and postpartum stages, Dr Bartfield gives thoughtful and detailed care. His personality is so genuinely positive and friendly, and he never makes me feel rushed. As a patient, I have always been treated with kindness and respect. Dr Bartfield is willing to talk through any questions I may have at my appointments, and he takes the time to explain his answers in a way that is clear, research based, and understandable. I can’t say enough good things about Dr Bartfield, and how grateful I am for the ways he practices medicine.

Dr. Bartfield is such a gift to women's health. I started going to him 6 years ago for high risk prenatal care and have continued to see him for my well woman visits. My drive is an hour which is well worth it. The staff is great and I've always felt cared for by everyone there. The culture there is very positive and you don't see a lot of staff turnover.

Dr. Bartfield is a fantastic provider! He truly goes above and beyond to ensure each patient feels comfortable and at ease. The staff is friendly and kind. I would highly recommend him!!

I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH HIS LACK OF KNOWLEDGE AND SPECIALLY WITH HIS CONDUCT DURING MY PREGNANCY. I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH IUGR AND HE DIDN'T CHECK ALL MY MICRONUTRIENTS LEVEL, SPECIAL FERRITIN. I ASKED HIM FOR SOME SUPPLEMENTS AND HE GAVE ME ONE THAT CALLS PEARL (SUCH A TINY PILL ) THAT I DON'T BELIEVE HAVE THE NUTRIENTS THAT I NEED.. EVEN THO I WAS ON MY 3* TRIMESTER , THAT EVERYBODY KNOWS THE BABY NEEDS MORE FOOD + IRON. HE DIDN'T MENTION THE SIDE EFFECTS OF A INDUCED BIRTH, THE PAIN AND HOW DIFFICULT COULD BE FOR A TINY BABY... OF COURSE I ENDED UP WITH A C-SECTION, BUT BABY DIDN'T NEED TO SUFFER DURING LABOR. NOW, THAT I HAVE STUDIED AND UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED , I'VE FOUND SO MANY ARTICLES AND STUDIES ABOUT HOW TO DEAL WITH IUGR AND I REALIZED THAT DR. BARTFIELD FAILED WITH ME . MY BABY IS A MIRACLE. SO , DON'T RELY IN DOCTORS EVEN WHEN THEY HAVE 5 STARS , STUDY ABOUT PREGNANCY CONDITIONS , THIS CAN SAVE YOUR BABIES LIFE. NOW I AM STUDYING HOW CAN I IMPROVE MY BABY HEALTH SINCE HE HAD A GESTACIONAL LACK OF NUTRIENTS DOES NOT AFFECT TOO MUCH HIS METABOLISM. I have seen Dr Bartfield for both my pregnancies and routine visits and I have always felt in very good hands, followed by a very professional Doctor. He always gives enough times at any appointment and listen all the concerns giving great advices. He is also a very nice and kind person.

He's the best doctor I've ever had. My family has seen him since he started practicing. His practice is small, he and his associate, Dr. Mervis, who is awesome as well. They promise you it will be one of them delivering your child- they don't refer out to strangers. This is amazing and reassuring for a first time mom. They seem to genuinely care about you, and make it the best possible experience. They listen to all of your concerns, rather than rushing you out like some offices. We love them!!!

Dr. Bartfield, his staff and office are a refreshing change to the larger more impersonal physicians practices. Dr. Bartfield is kind, professional and knowledgeable. He gave me all the time I wanted for my appointment. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a gynecologist.
