The office staff, Doctors were all very caring. I trusted both Dr. Lu and Dr Edwards with my skin issues, along with skin surgeries. I would recommend them highly to anyone who needs a Dermatologist.

Yes my experience,Is very positive, With multiple skin issues! Dr. Lu and his staff With a few short visits had all my skin irritations and issues Under control.With a minor but serious surgery on my back, Thanks again dr. Lu ! OFFICE GIRLS WORKING THERE ARE NOT POLITE., VERY RUDE. MY WIFE CALL THE OFFICE NEXT DAY. ASK THE DOCTOR GIVE US A CALL. AND THE DOCTOR NEVER CALL BACK. TREAT PATIENTS LIKE TRASH.

My first visit to Dr. Lu and staff. Had my yearly exam with Scott. It was thorough. He was so great in explaining everything and anything he saw. I was very pleased with my appointment. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I made an outstanding pick in Dermatologist.

It was my first time going to a dermatologist I was very nervous and didn't know what to expect. His office staff made me feel comfortable. Clean, friendly and very Welcoming. They asked several questions and re assured me everything would be okay. Dr. Lu was Amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable. He asked if I had any issues, and made sure to assess those issues. Dr. Lu is an incredible doctor. He is very caring, thoughtful, extremely competent, and much more professional than those that I have been treated by in the larger clinics here in Spring Hill. We feel very fortunate to have found him!! My wife, mom, and myself are all his patients. His staff is also very courteous and competent.

I was very nervous for my appointment with Dr. Lu, having a dark pretty good size spot on my head. He immediately gave me the feeling that I was with the right “man for the job”. I took a liking to him right away. We decided to do a biopsy on it, and now we’ll wait for the results. His feeling was that it was benign. His nurse Julie gave me the same positive thoughts. I have been going to Dr. Lu for 5 + years now. He is a very competent skin doctor who removed 2 basal cell tumors and advised me to go to Shands to remove another. I like that he knew his limitations. His wait time is usually very, very long but with the pandemic, there is very little wait time. His office staff is polite but not overly friendly. I would recommend Dr. Lu.

Do NOT go here if you value your time. Waiting over 45 minutes for an appt is ridiculous. If you can't see people at their appt time stop booking so many! No concern for my time at all. Will not be returning. This was the 2nd time this happened and they expect you to sit in your car and wait! Hello it's FL! It's hot so you have to leave the car running. Unbelievable and the Dr could care less! Obviously my time isn't as important as everyone else's. Just disgusting.

My husband went for skin growth and they did nothing didn't even send him to someone else, even after they said they dont know what it was. Smh wasted money

I called and made an appointment to see a Dr about a rash on the back of my thighs. It was very easy to make the appointment and they offered me 20 percent off if I would agree to see the PA Dr Scott. I agreed and Dr Lu came in as well cus it was a first visit. When I showed them my legs they said they did not know what it is, said it could be psoriasis or excema but without cutting a piece out of my leg they can't be sure. I said can't you just do a scraping so you can see if it is fungal or bacterial first?. They said no and fixated on the red itchy spot on my forearm that I showed them and one on my shoulder. Dr. Scott said he will need to free them cus they look precancerous and I said no they just itch. They prescribed medications and then he proceeded to take my forearm and blowtorch it with some ice in a can. It hurt and he went for my shoulder, I pulled away but he insisted it had to be done. So upon leaving i was not only billed for the office visit but they tacked on an extra 100.00 for the freezing. Now it is back and still itchy and has spread. I am not at all impressed with this situation and I am suffering everyday with burning itching skin that nothing seems to cool off. The meds I was prescribed I am allergic to according to the pharmacy from my records and they have yet 4 weeks to call in anything different. I can't say Dr. Lu is a bad Dr, i'm just saying I won't return there because 198.00 later I am still no better off than I was before going there, in fact it is worse from the freezing and scarring. Very comfortable with Dr. Lu. Switched from a larger "assembley" office. So much better.

Dr. Mel is the best!!! Took such good care of my daughter and removed all her warts. I highly recommend them - very professional :)

The professionals who work here are awesome!!! I had a painful, inflamed cyst. Dr. Scott Edwards and nurse Julie were phenomenal! Julie had the hard task of numbing the area. This was not pleasant but she had such compassion, stopped when i needed a break and comforted me when i crying. Yes it hurts but it's necessary. Dr Edwards treated me kindly, didn't make me feel ashamed of having this smelly cyst and performed the incision and drainage with skill and compassion. I felt like both of these professionals really cared about my well being. Dr Edwards even noted a suspicious mole that i will take care of at my next appt. Dr Lu is also an exceptional dermatologist. This whole office, from the doctors, nurses and front of office are an example of how patients should be treated. UPDATE: Again, this provider is an example of one who goes above and beyond for their patients. I had a surgical procedure done on my back which needed daily bandage changes.. I do not have help at home and cannot reach the site myself. . The nurses had no issue with me coming everyday for something as simple as changing a bandage. It may seem small, but for me, it was a blessing as i had no way to keep my surgical clean and dressed without their help. They never made me feel like it was a burden and all staff was pleasant and professional. This is an exceptional provider and i am especially thankful to Scott who caught a very abnormal mole before it became cancerous. The professionals who work here are awesome!!! We in Hernando County are extremely fortunate to have two extraordinary dermatologists in Dr. Melvin Lu and Dr. Scot Edwards. I arrived in Brooksville in 2015 and was not only referred by my primary but also had three local acquaintances highly recommend Dr. Lu's office. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. The first interaction was with Nurse Ann. She went to all lengths to make sure I understood everything I needed to know and the Doctors will not leave the exam room until all instructions and questions are answered. . Cant comment on the Dr's abilities as I never got to see him. 45 minutes past appointment time. Waited for an hour total. Overheard others waiting for more than an hour that said it was a common occurrence. The waiting area had poor ventilation and smelled of stale cigarettes. The receptionist said "have a nice day" as I was leaving. Nope.

Dr. Lu is an excellent doctor. He was professional, courteous and very thorough. He was extremely capable with taking care of all my dermatological needs. He detected and successfully removed the cancer above my eye.

Very personable, efficient, knowledgeable and you develop a sincere feeling of trust. One of the few times I do not dread going to the doctor. Terrific nursing staff which is a great deal of helping feel at ease! Was completely satisfied and now have my wife as his patient also!

I have been one of Dr. Lu's patients for almost 20 years. He has treated me for a variety of skin problems including many pre-cancerous lesions and skin cancers including melanoma. I have found him for be excellent in every respect. His medical skills are superior, he is a great listener, responsive to my questions, and very warm and kind. His nursing and administrative staff are quite exceptional. It is rare these days to find such caring and skills in a doctor's office.

Wait time is ridiculous! Every time it's 45 minutes to an hour and beyond. I don't care how good a so called doctor is, my time is valuable also. My last visit was today and was told there were 5. People ahead of me. Send me my records, I'm leaving. Doc, you're fired!

Good Doc but long wait times!

Dr. Lu is an excellent dermatologist, although he does have some of the issues found in other offices these days. You may have to wait a bit to see him as he does have a lot of people coming in, but he is competent and caring. I had a basal cell that had returned, and when I told him I wanted to make sure it was removed permanently, he did not hesitate to refer me to another very competent dermatologist that performed Mohs surgery. He has also always answered all of my questions.

Doctor Lu is very kind heart'ed and caring physician. Waiting time is usually less than 20 minutes.

He seemed so busy and the time he spent with me was so short that it's difficult to write a thorough review. The waiting room was so jammed and the delay in seeing him was totally unreasonable. He should not schedule so many patients and he should be more considerate of sick people having to wait for him----first time was over 30 minutes and the second time was an hour.

Dr. Lu is a good doctor but very poor on office management. With over scheduling of appointments, you WILL wait and frequently it is as much as 3 or more after your appointment time before you see him. When I made mention to the nurses about the long wait, they laughed stating they get there on time referring that the doctor is the reason for such lateness in appointments.
