Super friendly and welcoming staff and Dr. Hamilton was AMAZING (she knows her stuff)!! I had my very first Wisdom teeth extraction and an infection on the left side. The very next day after surgery I had no swelling or pain and the healing process was been a breeze. They were super professional, made me feel very comfortable and safe. I will recommend to anyone who is looking to get any oral surgery done. Thank you Dr. Hamilton and staff you ladies ROCK !!!!

Dr. Hamilton office was great no complaints from me they took the time to explain before and after surgery. Her assistance ashley and heather went over the top. Ashley gave me a call next day after surgery to make sure eveything was ok that means alot. Heather also showed me how to properly clean the affected area after surgery. All in all this is a great office and Would recommend them!

Dr.Hamilton is an amazing surgeon and does her job correctly. it’s the assistant she is so rude and arrogant and doesn’t tend to her patients needs whatsoever. post wisdom tooth extraction definitely would not recommend.

My wisdom tooth was extracted today, and it was amazing. After my mouth was numbed, all I could feel was pressure, and the dentist tells me I'm done! I was surprised. There is no pain, the environment is comfortable, and the dentist and assistants are very kind and gentle. I've never been to a dentist office where I didn't feel any pain. I am so grateful!

DON'T BELIEVE THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! When I was in pain and had an issue with my jaw they could fit me in the schedule sooner then any other office. I needed a biopsy and Dr. Hamilton and her Assistants were so compassionate and reassuring, they definitely made me feel better. I had a great experience dispite any normal discomfort and anxiety anyone would have. So much so I brought my son there for his wisdom teeth! They told us what to expect in the consultation and the day of the surgery went great. They even call to check on him the next day! Great patient care! I'd highly recommend! Do not believe the reviews on this page. I read the reviews two days before getting a really bad impacted wisdom tooth pulled and almost cancelled my appointment, I was freaking out. They took really good care of me and made sure I was okay. It’s been 24 hours and I feel fine, just a lot of swelling which is expected. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Had my wisdom teeth removed here in 2017. Was undermedicated to the point I came to at one point during the surgery, and was pretty much lucid as soon as I had gotten out the door. Ever since this surgery, I have been having issues with my jaw clicking loudly whenever I chew food, and occasionally getting stuck and needing to be "popped" open by opening my mouth wide. I experience aches and pains in my jaw from time to time as well, which were not present before the procedure. We have called the clinic to try to address these complications, and they just tell us to go elsewhere and that they will not take responsibility for complications, even though they pretty clearly caused them. My experience was great from start to finish. Dr. Hamilton and staff were fast and efficient for my wisdom teeth extractions.

Dr.Hamilton and the entire team of the dentist office are the only people you should trust with your dental needs. I needed to have one wisdom tooth removed and I was nervous about the procedure at first, it was done flawlessly and I was amazed to have no pain or even a slight discomfort at all after surgery on the same day. We just visited with Dr. Hamilton and were so impressed with her professionalism and attentiveness to my son’s care. He had a baseball injury and although we were there for a wisdom tooth extraction consultation, she was informative and professional about the next steps that we needed to take in order to ensure the health of my son’s teeth. I went in to have several teeth removed all at once and one of them unfortunately had broken a few months prior and was almost level with the gum line. They removed all my teeth without problem, accept that 1. There were no stichers or swelling in the area of that tooth + my tongue had "played" with that broken tooth quite a bit and I can say with certainty there was no attempt to remove this tooth. I ended up having to wait 2 weeks because they said "it's just a piece of your jaw, we had to cut up to the jaw and that's all your feeling" Meanwhile I'm trying to get my gums to heal so I can get measured for my teeth so I can have teeth again. With this mess up I am now having to add atleast 2 more weeks of no teeth before I can even go back to have my mouth measured for the replacement top teeth. 2 weeks might not seem long but I can say from personal experience adding 2 weeks to an already 4+week process is allot of time. Other than that it was a decent experience. The only other issue is I was told over and over before I went that I would be knocked out through the whole thing but when I got there I was informed I was previously misinformed and where I don't respond well to Novocaine it was not a nice time. Went in with overwhelming anxiety of the idea of a tooth extraction and Dr. Hamilton and the staff were fantastic and calming through and through. Couldn't recommend more.

I called her a/s with a pressing message on a Sun. After several calls to answering service she called me back extremely rude . “IT’s a Sunday you know” she said.. I said I know it’s Sunday and I have a surgery scheduled for tomorrow morning and your Office never sent in my meds. She told me to call her in the morning to remind the office to call it in at 8am. (Not sure why I have to continue to call them to remind Them TO DO THEIR JOB???) I told her I will be at work at 8am and she replied “I don’t know what you want me to say to you” I said maybe a simply apology for the lack of follow through and inconvenience here“ She said so cocky “I don’t owe you any apology” she then said “I think we should end this call before I say something I regret“ who the heck says that as a professional?????! as If I did anything wrong here??? oh she then said well you can reschedule if you want. My response was after The way you just treated me as your patient I would NEVER want you in my mouth.

Horrible experience with the Dr. she is extremely disrespectful and shows zero compassion. She messed up with the prep for my surgical procedure and then said “I don’t know what you eat me to say” I said maybe a simple apology would be appropriate. She said “I don’t owe you any apology” and immediately after said “I think we should end this conversation before I say something I regret” as if I did anything wrong. She then offered for me to reschedule. My response: with the way you couldn’t own your simple mistake and the way you treated me I would never want you near my mouth. Lesson learned** I should have listened to all that said I should was crazy for going to see her. A Dr should have to possess and display compassion to their patients. She should not be allowed to practice.

Lots of compassion and concern from both staff and Dr. The office is clean, staff friendly and Dr. Hamilton is very knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommend!

I had my wisdom teeth removed here almost 2 years ago, and I am still traumatized by dentists due to the lack of empathy from Dr. Hamilton and her staff. This was my first medical procedure ever, and I was unaware that I would only be numb, not unconscious, until the procedure had already started. The sounds of the drills, the pressure of my teeth being ripped out and the staff talking about their lunches and not focusing on my procedure made me feel so overwhelmed that I had an anxiety attack where I was full on shaking and sobbing in the middle of the surgery and a nurse said "oh, she's crying" and then carried on. They handled my face so roughly and even leaned on my jaw so hard that I had to swat her hand away as it was causing an excruciating amount of pain. For well over a week after the procedure my entire face was swollen and my jaw was bruised so badly that I had to stay home from school. I delayed writing this review for awhile as I thought that I was just one case that was like this, but I'm saddened to see that others have had a similar experience within the last couple of weeks. Referred a patient to her. First time. Last time. Avoid this snake. She has poor reviews for a reason. As a dentist I was asked to refer a patient to her and she thanks me by bad mouthing me and questioning my work (which are baseless and 100% inaccurate). Even the patient thought it was odd she would do such a thing when I had already explained the treatment to her. Called me when patient was done with procedure and asks are you out front? Without any prior call for directions or time frame. Not much of a big deal. They bring him out- paper work is lost- again no big deal mistakes happen. But then finally they did not call in proper medicine for patient. Patient is currently in excruciating pain due to their lack of organization. Would not recommend. All day running around with sick baby to boot. But that’s my problem not theirs. A few years ago I had ALL my teeth pulled out and the doctor she did a wonderful job. Had no problems.

So after meeting dr Hamilton , I wasn’t very warmed by our initial visit. I didn’t say anything I just left after my consultation and went home to do my research on her. I saw a few posts that felt the same as me. So I was pretty nervous and scared. I started to look for other oral surgeons in the area and surrounding towns. No one accepted my insurance or they weren’t accepting new patients at the time. I was frustrated because I needed my wisdom teeth and another one out ASAP! So I went with the surgery anyways. The day of I was SHAKING I was scared I admitted that to the nurses. They made me feel so welcomed and talked about everyday stuff and then I was eased. The doctor came in and rubbed my shoulder and asked how I was. It was a totally different demeanor than the first time I had met with her. She explained the procedure again. She suggested I think about my 4th wisdom because it wasn’t causing me any pain but it was directly on the nerve and I could have perm or temp paralysis. She said if I want we could leave it for now and if it causes problems down the road we can talk about removing it. She left it up to me to choose, which to me said a lot. She’s not trying to make money off my insurance she wanted what’s best for my health. Anyways this is long but it was a great experience. I didn’t feel a thing I don’t remember anything at all except waking up and saying “wow I get why people use drugs this is great!” Anyways they were great and it was a great experience. Dr. Hamilton was a great oral Surgent! She was Patient, kind, & most of all gentle. I had two wisdom teeth removed the procedure was supposed to be under I.V. Sedation however because of complications due to NO fault of the Dr. I could not be put under. Dr. Hamilton offered The alternative of laughing gas, this helped a lot and with her positive attitude & reassurance I was able to get threw the procedure. About 10 days later I developed a small infection due to my own lack of care. The Dr. was able to see me right away. There was no judgement Or blame from anyone in the office, they were all very kind considering I had a panic attack when I realized that I was going to have to be cut open again. I highly recommend Melissa Hamilton DMD, her and her staff are awesome. I had all my teeth removed and I'm not the one for the dentist but Dr. Hamand her staff was awesome. They made me comfortable knowing my medical history. I recommend this oral surgeon.

I highly recommend no one go to this woman. I live on Cape Cod and my insurance would only cover surgery for all 4 wisdom teeth removed at Hamilton’s office or in Boston. I was called by Melissa Hamilton personally and you’d think she would have put a little effort into being friendly. I have had issues with my wisdom teeth since January, and since then I’ve had 3 emergency visits to my dentist, 2 to the ER, and one to Hamilton’s. She cut me off on the phone when I was trying to explain the history of this god awful infection and she made it clear I’m lucky if she even works on me when she’s never even seen me before and I’m not her patient (not my fault this is the place i was given a referral to). I read her reviews after that and would never have seen her, but during this pandemic i have no other sources to go to. When I did go to her office she couldn’t have cared less and didn’t even care to ask any history, except right before she left the room she asked what the last med I was on was called. I ve been on antibiotics non stop, and after I finished my round of anti biotics from Hamilton, I received a text message saying my surgery is cancelled but I’d be contacted ASAP to reschedule. This was on April 28, it’s now May 8 But I have not heard back. I was rushed to ER again for the baseball sized abscess in my jaw yesterday and now have C.Dif. I’d rather take these things out myself than go back to this rude careless “doctor”. I highly recommend no one go to this woman. The biggest thing I can say is if you see negative reviews (pay attention, it’s for real). I took my daughter there this morning despite the negative reviews and she had a horrible experience as well. First of all she didn’t have enough gas and they were going to start and she asked for more gas. She was way too alert after the gas for the whole procedure, she overheard the doctor telling the nurse that she doesn’t like when her patients whine, she wouldn’t have been whining if she didn’t feel pain. It was not pressure it was pain and she heard a lot of whispering too and the doctor said I can’t say it louder. I will make sure that I notify the people who oversee dentists and oral surgery and make a report and I called our dentist and notified them too of our experience. The doctor had a poor bedside manner when I saw her in the room this morning. She is clearly very unhappy with her job and as a result her patients suffer. I would not recommend this for my dogs. I am notifying our insurance company as well. It actually looks like a piece of the tooth may still be there as well, we might end up at hospital. Very horrified at our experience. The staff went above and beyond to fit me in the schedule to have my tooth extracted. I was in an incredible amount of pain. Dr Hamilton was kind and patient with me knowing that I was afraid to have an extraction. This was the best experience I’ve had with a dentist! Great experience and awesome staff. I was immediately made comfortable and had no anxiety whatsoever in getting wisdom tooth pulled.

It was awful I had to wait about 40 mins for my schedule appointment then she gave me an injection several I was screaming and she said to me if it was a man would you scream like that she also then left the room for it to work came in and said I sense anger while working on my mouth she was talking to her helpers who was very nice to me saying she had to pull over at a fire station while driving home she was dosing off very un professional

I had three teeth pulled on Thursday August 2,2018..the staff were great I didn't care for Dr.Hamilton , she was rather rude no bedside matter..she prescribed Xanax for me to relax, I took 2 didn't even do anything she also gave me 5 shots of Novicane didn't work bad enough I'm a basket case..Whatever tool she used to take my bottom tooth out she pushed on it so hard was hitting the nerve it hurt so bad.. now I'm dealing with Hugh blood clots and excessive bleeding should had subsided by now I would think ....doesn't get better by Monday I'm calling them back..... I won't recommend anyone to her... This woman is awful! After taking out my wisdom teeth (they had to use the drill because of my deep roots) I got a bubble in my mouth. She seemed confused about it and put me on a second roubdnd of antibiotics. I go back again and she sends me to my normal dentist because she thinks the infection is from ANOTHER TOOTH, not from where she drilled my tooth out less than a month before. They tell me she's wrong its from her drilling. I tell her that and she tells me THEY'RE wrong. I end up going back for 2 more follow ups before she schedules a biopsy for 2 WEEKS AWAY. I had to go back in today because my mouth was bleeding and my gums were literally yellow and brown and she tells me SHE DOESN'T REMEMBER SCHEDULING ME FOR A BIOPSY! Then her assistants tell me shes just wrong and just forgot. She says she still thinks the infection is from another tooth EVEN AFTER PULLING A CHUNK OF MY JAW BONE OUT FROM THE INFECTED AREA. ALMOST A MONTH AFTER SHE DRILLED INTO MY JAW. SHE SAID I MIGHT NEED A ROOT CANAL AND TOOK NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY MOUTH AND HER OBVIOUS MISTAKE. On top of that during 2 different appointments she didn't know who I was...."oh your mom's the neurosurgeon right?" No. "You were the one with the chest pains after the antibiotics, you're from Maine right?" Wrong. AND SHE'S BEYOND RUDE, TOTALLY CONDESCENSION, NOT EMPATHETIC, AND HAS THE ATTITUDE THAT SHE'S BETTER THAN EVERYONE AND CAN DO NO WRONG. I am now on my third round of antibiotics from her in just over a month. And she has neglected the infected mass in my mouth for over a month now, just poking at it and scheduling more follow ups to poke at it again. Sorry for the long review, but this woman has me livid with her obvious ignorance. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO HER, and will have another doctor fix HER mistakes in my mouth. DO NOT GO TO HER! I had to get a tooth surgically removed. She ended up leaving a piece of my tooth in. So a few weeks later I had to go back to have that taken out. It was infected and she still went ahead with the procedure. When your tooth is infected they’re supposed to give antibiotics and wait for the infection to clear up. But NOPE she did it anyways. The novicaine doesn’t work if it is infected. She gave me that needle 3 maybe even 4 times (which was super painful due to infection) and I still felt everything I told her this also. She didn’t care. I am a 30 year old woman and I was crying like a baby beggging Her to please stop but she didn’t stop. It took forever to get that little piece out. By the time it was out I couldn’t breath from crying so much and the immense amount of pain I was in. I was traumatized. My husband was so concerned when he saw me I was in the verge of a mental breakdown. After she finished she proceeded to tell me I was the worst patient ever all because I was crying and it hurt bad because SHE SCREWED UP and preformed a procedure on an infected tooth. My face swelled up 3 times it’s normal size and stayed swollen for almost a week. However the other staff (front desk and the assistant that was there with me) was very nice and even held my hand. I went in and had novocaine shots waited 20 mins then had tooth pulled. She the BEST. I even shook her hand as well as her assistant. ????????????

Very happy with Dr. Hamilton and the staff. Very friendly, caring and concerned.only issue I had was pain???? had script for pain medication but a few short to stay comfortable. Something to think about ????

Staff and dentist very friendly and professional. Totally painless procedure. While no one wants to have teeth pulled, if I need teeth pulled I want Dr. Hamilton and her staff to do it.

This was the most horrific experience I have ever had with a dentist. First, they could not find a vein for anesthesia so I had to come back a second time. She removed one wisdom tooth with a local anesthetic and prescribed no antibiotic. I ended up with a terrible bacterial infection that required 5 days of IV antibiotic treatment, 2 trips to the ER and a CT of my jaw. Stay away from this woman!

Dr. Melissa Hamilton is an excellent dentist! She and her staff provide a great service. Definitely I will recommend her services to family members and friends.

We went to Dr. Hamilton to have my daughter's wisdom teeth removed. The entire staff is caring and kind and the surgery went well. Questions afterwards following our arrival home were also treated with courtesy and kindness.

They were not trained in phlebotomy. They could not start an iv and my procedure could not be done after waiting months for the appointment. I was referred to another oral surgeon which cannot see me for o etc 2 months. I am in pain and very disappointed.

Truly an awful experience! Doctor is SO rude and does not care who knows it! She was taking a personal call loudly in the next room, saying “f———ing”& “goddamn.” She never introduced herself or smiled when she walked in. She is dismissive to patients and her own staff, expecting them to read her mind. Did not use gloves and stuck me three times. Asked me if I was an IV drug user!! Terrible bedside manner, absolutely no common courtesy. Don’t be fooled by the nice building, elegant fixtures and decorations, Dr. Melissa Hamilton is not high class. She had my 5 year old daughter for a removal of an odontoma so a tooth would come down.. she locked the door, never told us what happened, and we found out 6 months later it was NEVER removed?! We found out from a reputable Dentist that we NOW have to take my poor daughter in for a 2ND surgery, for something that can potentially be CANCEROUS because this "doctor" is terrible at her job. I went to get my 4 wisdom teeth removed yesterday morning and I was crying and shaking because of how nervous I was since i was going to be asleep. The staff was really nice and they listened and answered my questions. The ortho herself (Melissa Hamilton) was really nice and was talking to me to distract me from the IV that she was putting in my arm which did not hurt at all! They told me I was going to start feeling drowsy in a couple of minutes and the only thing I remember saying after that was "I'm already feeling it". I closed my eyes for what seemed like A SECOND and when I opened them again they were all done. It was so quick to me. One thing I do remember is that I must have woken up sometimes during the procedure because I got a needle with novacaine in my gum but I opened my eyes for about 3 seconds and then fell right back to sleep. They were really good and I have not felt any pain, maybe some discomfort and soreness since yesterday. The only ones that do hurt from time to time are my bottom 2 but that was because she had to make a hole since my tooth was growing in it. I had a good experience there and I would recommend it! I'm healing up nicely and one of the stitches already fell off an hour ago. I had a negative experience in this office. The assistants and nurses, and X-Ray women were great, my only complaint is with the Doctor her self. Once I was in the office (I brought my grandma in with me) They had me watch a video on the oral surgery that I was supposed to get. After that the doctor came in and just handed me the paper work that she wanted me to sing my name too. She was irritated that I had more than one or two questions, and when I expressed my anxieties to her about the procedure she turned to my grandma and asks if "it" (me) was a behavioral problem. Had a great experience with Dr Hamilton and her staff. Easy peasy lemon sqeezie. No problems, she and staff did a great job. They were helpful with any questions or concerns and got me in and out with a tooth extraction. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I had an appointment with Dr. Hamilton, and she did an excellent job. Dr. Hamilton and her assistant were attentive and frequently checked to see if I was experiencing any discomfort. The procedure was quick and painless. I would highly recommend her.

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!! This was the worst dental experiance i ever had!!! The staff is rude the dentist is rude!! I sat in the chair to have a tooth extracted, and the dentist stuck me with the needle and said ok lets yank it out. I dont believe I had any novacaine, not 30 sec later she started pulling!! I kept saying I felt everything and she ignored me completely and just kept pulling. Then I had a problem after and got no help!! The dentist's policy is NOT to deal with any patients after hrs.

My daughter was referred to this office for oral surgery from another dentist. When I took my daughter for the supposedly oral surgery (it was nearly a month of painful waiting) the tooth that was marked to be removed was no longer there. This was April 28, 2016. Never heard anything so I called yesterday 7/29/16. I was told by the receptionist that I have to call the previous dentist,what? should both dentists be communicating & documenting? No I have to make that inquiry myself. Malapractice!

I almost cancelled my appt. with Dr. Hamilton due to the reviews on this site. I'm glad I didn't. My consult was very quick, but the day of the procedure the staff was extremely nice and made me feel comfortable. Dr. hamilton was also very comforting. I only have one memory from the procedure and it was them telling me there would be a little pressure. I am so thankful I did not cancel my apt. due to these reviews, which is why I am writing my own. I would go back and do it again if needed.

I am 30 years old and my dentist referred me to Dr. Hamilton for surgery. My experience with her has been incredible. I have SEVERE anxiety with dentists, and had to have all my teeth extracted. During the 3 surgeries it took, her and the staff were incredible. Patient, understanding, friendly, trustworthy, timely and professional. She did amazing work too! I'm not going to lie, given my anxieties, this was a relatively great experience!!!!

This Dr. is very unprofessional. She yelled and pointed her finger in my daughters face and treated here like a child. My daughter asked her to lower her voice please and talk to her normally and she stated. No, now I'll treat you and you can go on your marry way and never come back since you are unhappy with us. She made my daughter cry so bad she was hyperventilating. How dare this Dr. She should not be able to practice. I do not recommend this woman. Zero is the score she deserves!!!!

Very unprofessional. Pulled my wisdom teeth after I told her I wasn't numb yet. Staff made rude comments about my breastfeeding my baby while covered in the waiting room before the procedure. Dr gave misinformation about what medication I could take while breastfeeding. So traumatized from the experience that I still haven't had the other 2 wisdom teeth removed 7 years later!
