Mazen S. Itani

Needed to have 2 major surgeries due to severe diverticulitis. Dr. Itani did a fantastic job with the surgery and follow ups. I completely trust him and he has a good bedside manner & a technical understanding of what was needed to heal me.

He answered questions well and was very kind and professional

ER Dr at our local hospital called in to lance and drain an infection! was with us 15 minutes we asked if he took our insurance he got pissy after that and said he accepts what they pay! Wrong He billed us 350 times the normal charge for a simple surgery! $350.00 is normal he charges $6000.00 Insurance paid him $1184.00 he wants it all~! He has a long history of ripping people off! Works out of Newton Hospital and hackettstown! Refuse his services leave if you can and go to better Dr!

Lurks in emergency rooms and assists in procedures and with limited insurance acceptance. He then overcharges insurance companies (5x reasonable and customary per Fairhealth pricing) and BALANCE BILLS for the balance which is beyond ruthless. He plays the system and truely a human being that i would suggest avoiding if at all possible (i had no choice/called in to assist emergency surgery) BEWARE BALANCE BILLING

I was recently with my 9 year old son in the ER (appendix). Of course, the level of anxiety was high especially knowing the fear my son was feeling. However, that was alleviated the moment Dr. Itani walked in. We all experience and base judgments on our "gut" reaction; and my gut reaction was wonderful. Dr. Itani even went as far as to allow dad to scrub up and come into the operating room until he was asleep. This made ALL the difference for my son and he still talks about it ! Thank you !!!

I had a Great experience with Dr. Itani. Last Nov. I was out in Las vegas were I had to have my appendix out. Once I was home I developed a infection from my wound . Dr. Itani had to clean out the wound which he did in Hackesttown ER. After that I developed a bad Hernia which Dr. Itani had to perform a complex surgery. Needless to say I'm very greatfull to meet Dr. Itani. Also his receptionist Allie was very helpfull with all my scheduling and Insurance needs. I highly recommend Dr. Itani.
