I have had a phenomenal experience with Dr Stanwix. From the first appointment until now, it has been wonderful. My surgery went so well with no complications and I continue to do well. Looking forward to seeing him again at my next appointment.

I was recommended by a friend to use Dr. Stanwix and I am SO glad I did. The service was phenomenal, the women’s center where I had my surgery was very attentive, and Dr. Stanwix did an amazing job. I am super impressed with not just Dr. Stanwix’s work, but his bed side manner as well. He throughly explained my procedures, listened attentively to my concerns and was able to address them all. After my surgery his nurses, Jenny and Amanda, were always super responsive and easy to reach with questions and even Dr. Stanwix returned my call immediately on a Friday night for the most ridiculous post op question of all time (sorry doc!). I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Stanwix and his team! Myself and a family member both had en bloc this year with Dr. Stanwix and it was the best decision we both could have made. We were both so comfortable with him and his staff from the moment we walked into his beautiful office. Naturally, I was still a little nervous before surgery- but he and his team at the surgical center sat down with us, patiently answered any questions, and we weren’t left sitting alone and waiting in pre-op - which was the extra care that we appreciated. After surgery, I felt a little silly being nervous because my family member and I were NEVER in what I would even call real pain post op- and that is definitely something I give credit to having a great surgeon! I really have to give so many THANKS to Dr. Stanwix and his team for the wonderful changes in my life since surgery. I have significant scoliosis which has caused me intense pain since I was a very young teenager. My back pain had caused me to miss out on and give up on so many things in my life. It got significantly worse over the years after I got my implants but I didn’t put it together that the implants were probably the reason. Well let me tell ya- since the moment I woke up from surgery, my back, neck, ribs, hips have had NO pain. Living pain-free is something I never thought I would know again in my life! Also- Dr. Stanwix took very much care and detail to make sure that my body looked symmetrical after removing the implants - considering that my scoliosis causes my body to have an S shape. That meant the world to me that he took so much care in that, and made me feel so confident in him. THANK YOU DR. STANWIX! Also - I have dealt with depression, general and social anxiety, and over the last few years OCD and very low self confidence. One of my dearest friends had surgery with Dr. Stanwix, and it destroyed her life. He severely disfigured more than half her body, and years later she's still in pain and 35k in debt due to medical bills caused by his malpractice. She is one of the sweetest and most trusting people I have ever met, she didn't deserve any of this! It breaks my heart to see her suffer because of what he did to her. She is always helping everybody else, never bothering anyone with her pain, but I can see the sadness in her eyes. She's not the same and I worry about her, I know she struggles with suicidal thoughts because of his actions. He didn't offer to help, just ignored her, and he will do the same to you. Run, don't let this man touch you. I'm so upset about what he did to her, he has no conscience and should not be practicing. I'm beyond grateful for Dr. Stanwix! I researched and consulted with a few different surgeons when I decided to remove my breast implants. Dr. Stanwix was the 3rd surgeon I consulted with and I had no need to continue to look for someone else after meeting with him. The atmosphere of his office put me as ease as I was so anxious. The office staff were so kind and patient. The nice fuzzy comfy robes are an absolute plus! :) He answered every question I had during our consult and I knew he was the right surgeon for me. I book my explant and counted down the days. When my day came I was so nervous to the point I almost fainted in pre-op while he was making his markings before surgery. His confidence is absolutely reassuring and never ever arrogant. His bedside manner is incredible. I've found him to be genuinely kind and caring. Stellar experience with Dr. Stanwix. His surgical skills and artistry brought me back to him a second time. He has a great bedside manner, if that's important to you, but for me, I wanted a surgeon I could really trust. I'm thrilled to have found him!

Dr Stanwix was always my first choice for explant surgery. I have now been through the surgery and am healing fast. I chose to to lipo and fat transfer. From the first time I contacted his office to the initial phone consult, everyone was so wonderful. Everything that was promised was delivered. I also like the low key enthusiasm that Dr Stanwix displays. He is never rushed and he is a great listener. He is a true genius. I traveled from Canada to have the surgery with him. Horrible doctor. He disfigured me beyond repair and has been dishonest with me more times than I can count - just want to warn people because he truly destroyed my life physically, emotionally, financially, my life will never be the same. Don't fall for promises or good bedside manners, please...go to a doctor with high integrity who truly cares about you, they're out there. He's not one of them unfortunately.

My name is Elizabeth. Back around October of 2018 I made the decision to have breast augmentation. My breast size at that time was a 34A. For myself, with my athletic frame and height, I wanted something bigger and more proportional to my body. I talked with my some friends and compiled a list of cosmetic surgeons that they'd had positive results with. Over a period of a few weeks, I had spoken with several surgeons in person to find someone who made me feel comfortable. The first few that I talked to seemed to just be giving me a presentation, repeated many times over the years. I felt that they were qualified, but it wasn't a personalized experience. That changed with Dr. Stanwix. When he and the nurse walked into the consultation room, I sensed immediately that he was fully present and focused on this meeting. He was talking *with* me rather than just *to* me. It was a real interaction and not just a presentation, and I felt immediately at ease. He asked me what expectations I had, and showed me several options without pushing me into any one choice. He listened to the unique needs of my active lifestyle and helped me choose implants that were aesthetically beautiful and suitable for my daily routine. I had one particular special requirement that was a little different from most women, but he was willing to accommodate that for me. I am over the moon ecstatic with my Mommy Makeover results from surgery with Dr. Stanwix. I am 23 weeks out from surgery and my results keep getting better and better. Dr. Stanwix is the perfect combination of experienced, meticulous and responsive. He takes ample time to listen to the patient's concerns and desires, applies his considerable experience, and communicates his knowledge and expertise to the patient in terms of potential outcomes. I had en bloc breast implant removal with Dr. Stanwix in Oct. of 2018. My experience was great from beginning to end. First, he absolutely makes you feel comfortable about any and all questions you may have. My recovery time was just over 2 weeks and I was back to work as a massage therapist. My scars are barely visible. He has stayed on top of things through followup appointments & any concerns or comments I have had through emails with very considerate time. Hands down the best physician experience that I have ever had. Not only does Dr. Stanwix come with the highest degree of credentials and training, he also has a bedside manner that is unmatched. He is empathetic, kind, highly skilled, and he truly cares about the work that he is doing and the patients that he cares for. I was so Bless to have Dr. Stanwix to do plastic surgery on my knee. I had a knee replacement that went very bad. Dr. Stanwix went in my knee to do a wash out and noticed infection in my knee. He changed my Orthopedic Doctor and basically help save my leg. After seven operations Dr. Stanwix reconstructed my knee back to looking normal. I've never had a Doctor with such superb bedside manner and his knowledge of his profession is amazing. I had abdominal liposuction.,with Dr. Stanwix.The end result is I have a large supper hard pouch.I went to Mayo Clinic for a second opinion.The first thing they did was a CAT scan to evaluate the pouch...something Dr.Stanwix did not do. After evaluating the scan they recommended no more surgery,it would be more harmful.I emailed the scan and notes to Dr. Stanwix; he did not respond ,this speaks to his character.Don’t get fooled by his degrees and demeanor as I did.

Dr.Stanwix name was new to me when I found him on RealSelf 4 months ago. I made an appointment, fully expecting it to be for informational purposes only-I've already seen 2 Plastic Surgeons in VA & had decided my only hope was to go to a doctor in OH. My implants were 30 yrs old & encapsulated. Dr.Stanwix explained the en bloc surgery in detail, was warm and caring & I knew he was the "partner" I was looking for in this life transforming event. He is an amazing surgeon and has a great bedside manner this was my first surgery and he really made me feel comfortable.

DIEP flap reconstruction after double mastectomy: The first plastic surgeon I consulted before my mastectomy said, "Since you've had radiation, you're going to have to have a DIEP flap reconstruction. There are a lot of physicians who do them, but the only one I'd trust is Matthew Stanwix." Dr. Stanwix was so kind and confident. He gave me information about all kinds of reconstruction, then showed me what might happen since I'd had radiation...not pretty. He explained how DIEP flap worked, smiled and said, "Just think of it as getting breast reconstruction and a tummy tuck". I could not be happier with the results of the DIEP flap surgery that was partially preformed in conjunction with the double mastectomy. After literal years of research trying to find the right surgeon for my chest reconstruction surgery, I'm very happy I found Dr. Stanwix. I went to him on the recommendation of a friend, and I found him to be kind and caring, always willing to explain and go over anything that concerned not just me but also my family who would be caring for me after surgery. Even my mother, a long-time worrier, felt at ease with the procedure and with Dr. Stanwix. I had a small issue after surgery where the knot for the stitches irritated my skin, and he was available to see me on short notice just because I was worried about it. I am from Fredericksburg. I heard about Dr. Stanwix through a friend. I had breast cancer 1 year ago with implants done by a plastic surgeon in my town. Both implants went bad so I consulted with Dr. Stanwix. He is the BEST PLASTIC SURGEON EVER!!!!! He was so caring and wiling to do whatever made me feel better. I had a bad experience with tubes in the past, he was kind enough to numb the site before pulling them out. Not too many doctors go above and beyond like Dr. Stanwix. Wonderful doctor! Very humble and down to earth with a bedside manner that is unparalleled. Pleasant, doesn't come across as hurried, answers questions in lay terms and made me feel completely comfortable. Removed a malignant melanoma and sentinel lymph node on May 15, 2014. Genuine to the core of his being!!

I am extremely grateful and blessed to be a patient of Dr. Stanwix. From the moment my husband and I met him, we new we were in the right place. Being greeted by his big genuinely infectious smile and his compassionate calming demeanor always made me feel at ease. I felt more like I was just going to go visit one of my friends. His surgical work is impeccable. I find myself gushing with pride when showing how excellent of a job he has done and then convincing them that I really did have total reconstruction.
