Dr. Matthew E Pollard

I saw Dr.Pollard in November of 2021 in Columbus Ga for the extreme pain in my lower back, which was keeping me from doing my daily living activities. This visit was following a MRI. Dr.Pollard came into the room never examining my back or explaining my MRI.I explained all my symptoms including my back being tender to the touch and a block was tried before and it failed. He proceeded to pull up MRI and state that looking at it everything I was experiencing was normal for my age at 41. He stated that there's no treatment nor could anything be done for normal wear and tear. He proceeded to leave the room, concluded in 5 minutes. I called him back in tears explaining that I should be able clean and cook, my pain is not normal. He prescribed a pain med and gabapentin and told me to get a second opinion. Today 2/21/2023 my Dr shows me the same MRI from 2021 showing my discs where the pain is are barely there, cracked and broken sitting on nerves. He explained this could be seen back to 2018

He completed ACDF 5-7 surgery on me, along with spinal stenosis surgery. I believe it was a success.

Very poor bedside manner. Barely asked any questions and barely did an assessment. Prior to my appt he came out to the front desk and was mad at his staff for scheduling 3 new patients in a row. Waited 45 minutes and saw him 5 but I'm sure I will get a bill for 170+ dollars. Please choose any other doctor at his clinic.

Had back surgery with great results

I have nothing but praise for Dr. Pollard. I'd suffered 6 months of crippling nerve pain which was finally relieved after surgery.

Dr. Pollard took care of my unbelievable severe lower back pain. With a one day procedure I'm up and at after two weeks. It was a pleasure to deal with Dr. Pollard and his competent and professional staff.

I began experiencing pain in my back which radiated into my leg. An MRI showed a herniated disc with nerve compression. Dr. Pollard explained this to me in very clear and easy to understand terms. He spent considerable time with me and never pressured me towards making a decision but helped me understand surgery would be my best option. After surgery, I had immediate relief of my symptoms and am doing great! I highly recommend Dr. Pollard and his staff

Dr. Pollard operated on my lower back recently, I was in terrible pain and very frightened about the prospect of surgery. He has a wonderful bed side manner. Dr. Pollard spent a good deal of time with me - explaining my condition, why surgery was necessary, and even took the time to draw a picture for me to better answer some of my questions. He came to reassure me on the morning of my surgery and followed up with me after my operation, I am now pain free! I highly recommend Dr. Pollard!

My five year old daughter saw Dr. Pollard for a broken arm. Two weeks after the break he attempted to reset her arm and actually made things worse. Applied a cast which was the worst I'd ever seen. Ended up having to get her treated urgently at UVA Children's hospital to avoid her arm healing incorrectly. Seeing this doctor made this so much more traumatic for her than it needed to be. Going to UVA Children's Hospital was like night and day in terms of her treatment.

Dr Pollard operated on my lower back at end of June 2016. Was to be in hospital 1 night. After surgery I was not able to lift or use my left leg. Spent 2 1/2 months in Rehabilitation and never received an explanation from him. He came to my room once while I was highly drugged on narcotics and 1time while in skilled nursing. He was VERY short with me. Very poor bedside manner. Do not recommend him. It is now February, 2017 & still need physical therapy.
