Great doctor very glad I get to see him

I was referred to him by the VA. I asked providers and veterans who had him as a surgeon and all their remarks were very positive. I believed from my providers that I was referred to have shoulder replacement surgery. Dr. Hwang told me I did not need the surgery and that my problem was poor management of an acute flair of arthritis pain. He spent time listening to my concerns and was very clear in Explaining his reasons re: surgery. He indicated that his consult would provide my VA providers with very specific actions to take in terms of meds, chronic arthritis management, and management of acute flairs. He suggested I seek Rx of my pain management to the the clinic in the community specializing in that care. I fully intend to do so. Both Dr. Hwang and his assistant, Larry, were very compassionate and supportive. My mind was swirling by the time I left the clinic, but I felt absolutely confident in the information I received . Thank you

All of my questions were answered and all of my fears were relieved. Going through the MRI and the report made me much more comfortable about going into surgery.

Dr. Hwang reviewed my CT scan and indicated the work would be better done by someone else. I appreciated his honesty and being straight with me. I value these traits very much

Found the reason for my pain. Along with other doctors in the clinic in 2 visits. Was seeing Dr Shobe for arm pain and neck. After 3 yrs of Shobe. 2 visits with other Dr s found the problem. Shobe didn't listen to anything I had to say , always made me wait 30 to 45 minutes. Thought he was going to fall to sleep at one appointment. He actually put his head on the wall and closed his eyes for 10 plus seconds. Stay as far away from Shobe as you can. It was a very professional experience

I have been dealing with right shoulder pain since last March, which has gotten increasingly worse. I have had steroid shots, PT, x-rays, continual chiropractic care, dry needling, prednisone packs, arthritis meds, muscle relaxants, pain meds, and an MRI with arthritic contrast. Yesterday my husband went with me to have a consultation with Dr. Hwang. I have NEVER experienced such a negative discussion with a doctor. He basically asked why we were there and what we wanted. He made me feel like there were thousands of topical creams, medicines (which he proceeded to rattle off at least thirty in a matter of a minute including medical marijuana), and out of the box procedures that I had not even tried. Although my MRI showed cartilage mostly gone and being bone-on-bone in some areas, he felt that wasn't really severe arthritis. HE THEN PROCEEDED TO SEARCH NAMES OF HIS OTHER PATIENTS AND SHOW US A MAN'S MRI WHO HE FELT HAD SEVERE ARTHRITIS WHICH ALSO SHOWED THE MAN'S NAME AND PICTURE! Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that illegal? He had upset my husband and I so much that he told us he didn't feel we would be interested in repairing our relationship with him and that there were five other shoulder surgeons in this clinic that would be a better fit. It was too see DR Hwang again. I was hoping that could get ix but he said could be my neck got too come back check it out . I sure hope thy find what going it hurt real bad and it stop from doing what I like too do. I was please what he said and if not my neck I will be going back Dr. Hwang

The surgery went extremely well!

The staff was excellent at St. Cloud Orthopedics (doctor Whang, receptionists, nurses, therapy consultants), as well as the care I received at the Surgical Center. I knew exactly what was going to be happening, what I could expect for recovery, and what was expected of me for aftercare/therapy. I could not be happier.

Im a massage therapist, do I was Very worried I wouldn't be able to work again. Dr Hwang assured me he would be able to get me back to work. Im 3 months after surgery now and have better range of motion and MUCH less pain than I did before surgery. Everyone I worked with both in the office and the day of surgery were very kind and professional. Not all my experience at a doctors office were so good, but my experiences here at the St Cloud Orthopedics was Amazing! I'd recommend to anyone!

Only thing better would be if I could have been told length of time for physical limitations before surgery. I had a golf trip planned and paid for not realizing it would not be possible. Dr Hwang is awesome..

Dr. Hwang did a surgical repair on my rotator cuff. I have full ROM and no residual pain. Five stars!

I've been dealing with shoulder pain for 25 years and nobody could find the answer to my pain. After 2 visits and an MRI Dr. Hwang seemed confident that he could fix my problems. We scheduled surgery and 3 days after my surgery i was in less pain prior to surgery. Today I'm 12 weeks post and I have more range of motion, no pain and feeling like a million bucks. I am a 73 year old retired orthopedic RN who spent 34 years caring for heavy orthopedic patients in a large Milwaukee Hospital. As a result, I had bilateral torn rotator cuffs which were repaired. A few years later my right rotator cuff again had a tear that required a total reverse shoulder replacement. Dr. Hwang graciously replaced this shoulder and today I do everything with absolutely no pain. I felt well cared for and feel like he performed a miracle for me. I am so grateful!!

Dr. Hwang is very good at, what looks to me to be a very complex kind of surgery. The therapy sessions were very helpful and effective. The whole experience with St. Cloud Orthopedics was great.

Dr. Hwang did a great job of treating my shoulder from my initial visit all the way through my final post-visit. He had my best interests in mind, while clearly explaining everything to me. He treated me with great respect and was knowledgeable in helping guide me to a successful recovery. I would highly recommend him to anyone I know.

Everything, over a period of a few years now, has gone incredibly well!!!!! From diagnosis to my surgery to the follow-ups, I have always had confidence in Dr. Hwang & Andrea Bobis, his assistant.
