Matthew Y Chang

I can’t say enough great things about Dr Chang. He performed a laminectomy L4 & L5 nerve decompression on me on Dec 23, 2022 for severe spinal stenosis. He was the only doctor out of 4, who diagnosed me properly and permanently relieved my lumbar nerve pain. Other doctors wasted time medicating me with a multitude of pills (that messed with my mind and blood pressure), several useless epidural injections and never ending physical therapy that seemed to cause more damage to my spinal nerves by “pushing through it” Not only is he a brilliant Neuro Surgeon, Dr Chang is humble and personable, signing his emails “Matt” and humanizing himself with casual conversation with my husband and I, in office. He answered all my ridiculous questions relieving my pre surgery anxiety. He, personally, followed up with phone calls and giving me a number to reach him and his nurse directly. I have no more nerve pain and feel normal again I highly recommend Dr Matthew Chang

we visited him with my mother, he was very attentive and presented the pros/cons of surgery/anesthesia. I never felt that he was trying to steer us in any direction(as other reviews mentioned) other than bringing information and the options he works with. We haven't decided for surgery yet so I can't speak about any further or add any more stars at this time, but the school he attended and the years of experience along the way he communicated with us all had a positive note.
