Dr. Mathias A. Masem

I've had experimental hand surgery done by Dr. Mathias Masem six years ago. The surgery was on my right hand, it was to improve the movement in my hand. Not any significant changes no improvement in regards to movement, just left with more pain than before I went in to have surgery. DR M TOOK CARE OF MY INJURIES AND THOSE OTHER IPM BACK ALLEY DR TEST AND POLK AROUND MY BODY FOR SIX IN A HALF YEARS UNTIL MY LAWYER DIRECT ME TO JUST SEE AN NON IPM DOCTOR TO GET MY INJURIES TAKEN CARE OF SINCE MY PAIN WAS NOT GOING AWAY IN MY KNEE. BUT A NEW UP AND COMING WMC DOC SENT ME TO DR M FOR MY HANDS ????????. OH ???? Fantastic Surgeon! Kind, courteous, knowledgable and very very good at what he does. Made me feel comfortable each appointment leading up to my procedure, he genuinely cares for his patients. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Very disappointing care from Dr. Masem. He operated on my husband, ultimately removing most of 2 fingers. Besides ALWAYS late for appointments (to the tune of my husband waiting 2 hours in the waiting room almost EVERY time he had an appointment) and no pain management after surgery (or before), I would highly recommend you find another care/surgery option. He even went as far as to refuse to re-dress my husbands hand at a post-op follow up appointment. My husband was clearly not ready to leave with out re-wrapping his hand (as it was when he arrived). Dr. Masem said "well, don't you have gauze at home?". What kind of patient care is that? The worst.

He takes good care of his patients very nice and very professional. I'm happy that he's my Doctor.

I highly recommend Dr. Masem. I had a fracture in my capitate in my left wrist, a diagnosis that is very uncommon. A local hand specialist in Fresno, California told me that there was nothing that he could do for me. I was recommended to Dr. Masem by a family member and he was able to repair my wrist. The surgery itself was a success, not to mention the outstanding professionalism provided by Dr. Masem and Kelly Weissburg, RN NP. Dr. Masem performed surgery on my rotator cuff to an injury that was a couple years old. My muscles had atrophied and torn so badly in my shoulder blade from compensating for the initial injury , my shoulder had fallen down . I went through a quick same day surgery and recovered quickly. I have heard to many horror stories about surgeries I wanted to recognize Dr. Masem for doing an awesome job it's now been 12 plus years and I am as strong as ever . I never did get back my full ROM but that is nearly a impossible thing to expect but I am able to cross my arms as I used to and can still reach pretty far up my back. But most importantly I am strong and feel no weakness in my shoulder or in my muscles in my shoulder blade. Thank you! Dr. Masem practically knows everything. I had a very strange problem with my hand that other doctors I saw knew absolutely nothing about, yet Dr. Masem know exactly what it was and how to treat it. The man is a miracle worker.

Outstanding doctor of The Hand! He healed my arthritic and over used hand immediately with brief medical intervention. He is so very kind and very gentle in his medical approach and manner. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!

I had a traction injury that I went to many doctors for help with. Pretty much none of them were able to even identify the problem until I went to Dr. Masem. He immediately knew what the ailment was and how to treat it, while other doctors knew nothing about my condition. Overall, I am impressed at his medical knowledge, even by doctor standards and highly recommend him for any hand related issues.

Masem operated on me three times, counting a repair of a butcher job he did on my right hand. I was an idiot to allow him to work on me in the first place, no excuses! He operated on my right third finger for Dupuytren's contracture syndrome and damaged the tendon in the little finger in the process, necessitating a second procedure to repair the damage. Dr. Masem is a "god hand" doctor... for he left almost no scar on his patients after surgery. He is an extremely intelligent and skillful doctor with his hands. It could be frustrated for patients to have a long wait during their office visits, however, it is worthy to wait for "god hand" Dr. Masem to give them his precious time.
