I went to this Dr as a first time patient with an immediate issue to resolve. It took a good 30 minutes on the phone with reception to get an appt. So, the hold times were a bit long, but everyone has to wait every now and then, guess it was my turn this time. No worries, because, what actually happened during this long hold time, was that the staff was arranging to see me, that very day! I was able to have a same day appt within a few hours, amazing! And not only that, when I arrived, mind you, I'm in pain, the staff was so very compassionate, they were truly comforting and were extremely sensitive to my needs. They really cared about me, the person, not just the number in my file. They were able to diagnose my issue and I got the attention I much needed. Thank you staff and I highly recommend! Very professional and friendly staff. I finally got the answers I needed after having my scope done.

A shout out to Jessie in scheduling. I called up to find out when my endoscopy was scheduled and she could not have been more friendly or helpful. I feel bad for doing this...but something needs to change in this office!

2 years of “treatment” with 7 antibiotic prescriptions handed out by a PA and her medical assistant (usually via phone), until I finally asked, “When do I meet the actual Specialist I’m paying for?” Her reply? “Just prior to any procedure or surgery....” Really? I always thought the idea was to AVOID surgery? I left that practice so fast and now go to another Gastroenterologist who ACTUALLY sees his patients without them needing surgery! I won’t EVER trust a doctor who practices in 6 different locations in the US? Horrible by every measure. IMPOSSIBLE to get in contact with whether trying to schedule an appointment, ask a question, or pay a bill. I would have to call several times a day for days in a row to get in contact with anyone. Their message machine says they will reply within 24 hours, but the only time they ever returned my call it was literally two weeks later. Neither of the "doctors" that see patients are M.D.s, and after several appointments and thousands of dollars in bills I am no closer to figuring out my ailment. The only M.D.'s at the practice are the doctors performing the procedures. The final straw for me was after repeatedly begging them for my prep instructions for a procedure, they still didn't get me the instructions until 3 days before the procedure was scheduled. These folks were professional and very pleasant. Occasional gaps in communication were promptly and fully corrected. Overall, I will be back and can easily recommend them.

This meeting was a consultation for a colonoscopy in answer to symptoms of an ulcerative colitis flare up. I have experienced 3 types of cancer in the last 5 years so I also want to be assured that I am not experiencing another type of cancer. My appointment went well and I was scheduled for the procedure.

My appt. Time was changed. Arrive at 1010 for 1035, no...arrive at 955 for 1030, etc. Sound like they are scolding a child when they leave pre-recorded messages. Seems to be disjointed communication between staff although they were good to me once I actually got in, No sense of basic simple humor. The staff at Gastroenterology are caring and kind. Dr. Kahja is one of the top Gastroenterologists in the country. He is very kind and compassionate. They treat you with dignity and respect. They are willing to do what ever it takes to help help you. I have been going there for 12 years. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

The colonoscopy was painless. Everyone was so attentive. After my follow-up (good news) the office helped me save $740 on my prescription. Can't thank them enough.

Now that Haley Oberst has taken charge of my intestinal issues, I finally feel like I'm heading in the right drection with care, treatment , and recovery. Not good . Never saw the doc. Left because they did not follow covid. guide lines. Also very disorganized in office.

Not impressed at all

NO help received from this doctor. My daughter was in so much pain, but he made her wait a week for an endoscopy/colonoscopy with no meds, then sent her home after procedure with no meds for symptoms. Made her go to her General Physician (same day of procedure) to get stomach spasm meds to help decrease the pain. Would not give any info as to what he was testing for or what she could possibly do to stop the pain while waiting testing results. Waited 2 weeks for the results (not because they didn't have them, but because apparently the results were not "interpreted" by the Dr.) while calling the office daily as well as her GP calling the office daily to get results to see if there is something in her diet that should be avoided. Thank GOD for friends with Celiac! They helped diagnose the issue with just listening to symptoms and suggesting starting a gluten-free diet. Thank goodness we started that diet the day before her procedure, if not, she would still be doubled-over in pain with no answers. NO help received from this doctor. Horrible service! They cancel your appointment without letting you know, the dr don’t show up on days of procedure, they are very incompetent, I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

The appointment went great actually got to meet with Doctor BUT when I called and left messages the following day no reply that day, still waiting.

Staff was very nice and friendly. Maybe a little more communication between staff members. Seemed to repeat answers to same questions to different staff. Dr that performed the procedure, could spend a little more time explaining what they did and what they found, to the patient. 30 seconds is just not long enough to explain everything.
