Amazing! I love Dr. Cowan.

Dr Cowan is a wonderful physician!!!! Very caring and so nice!!!

It is always great to see Dr. Cowan; she spends time with each patient & never rushes through an appointment!

I have never had a better doctor than this! She takes her time and makes me feel she really cares about my me and my well-being.

I highly recommend Dr. Cowan of Serene ObGyn medical practice. She's a wonderful doctor that takes the time to address the welfare and care of each of her patients. The staff is supportive as well. Phone calls are followed up quickly and always handled with courtesy.

Excellent patient care. She takes the time to listen to my concerns and offers solutions to help. Dr Cowan has remained consistent in her excellent level of care for over 30 years.

I could never recommend this doctor. She neglected me in my most terrifying time in labor and her partner was even worse! Although she seemed fantastic at first and encouraged us she would be present for the birth and on call as long as it wasn't the weekend she did not show up for me because we were told "she was picking up her new car". I was in labor for 26 hours and at the hospital for over 20 so that is no excuse and we found out about 15 hours after getting to the hospital. She also never called me to let me know she wouldn't be calling and never checked in after. There was no handoff. The 2 OBs that apparently were in her practice and who I knew nothing about were beyond awful, they had poor demeanor, were not helpful and I believe this delayed my labor unnecessary and I ended up having a VERY traumatic birth that could have easily been prevented. Edit to respond to the message, I never heard from her again after the terrifying 26 hours of labor and dreadful birthing experience. My doula who was there who once recommended her was so embarrassed that she had ever vouched for her. No one ever called me, a manager I never spoke to before called my husband. One of the best ob-gyn's in Houston! She has provided excellent service to me for approximately 15 years. Wonderful bedside manner, warm, personable and very knowledgeable.

Dr. Cowan is what a real, caring doctor is all about!!!!! She is willing to take the time to help her patients on a higher level, she doesn’t just check the boxes but asks the deeper questions and is willing to take the time to give you the deeper answers. First I’ll start with my visits to her office although they were a wait Dr. Cowan always answered all my questions & was so informative in each visit even when I didn’t have questions she would answer some that I’d probably have later on. The staff is polite and nice. I went in for induction November 2nd and although it was a little tough Dr. Cowan helped me a lot. My baby had turned across and she was planning on c section, I was terrified, she gave us two hours to see if the baby would position himself which he did last hour thank God! I’m so thankful dr Cowan was there for my labor and that she eased me through it all. I am so thankful for her and the amazing staff at The woman’s hospital of Texas. ☺️ I completely recommend her. I can say Dr. Cowan is very nice and attentive, she took the time to do my ultrasound and was very informative. She takes the time with her patients I was very impressed. I didn't feel like I was at the doctors, she made me feel very welcomed.

I do not recommend Dr. Cowan due to the fact that she is unprofessional and her attitude is terrible. A friend of mine just had a miscarriage and Dr. Cowan responds by saying “she dodged a bullet” very distasteful and ugly words!

Dr. Cowan is the best! Yes, you will have long wait times to see her, but it is worth it. When it is your time, she is thorough and never makes you feel rushed. At tha time I was frantically looking for a new Obgyn for personal reason, and was rejected by dozens of other obs because I was in such late term. She accepted me right away and her nurses managed to put me in an appointment on the same day. Dr. Cowan is very professional and kind that made me feel so relieved. She also respects my preference about the birth plan and at the same time shared her own opinions. Working with her is natural and smooth. As with any OBGYN, things will happen and they will be called away for women in labor. So on more than one occasion I’ve had to wait longer than an hour for my yearly exam. Knowing this ahead of time helps me plan accordingly. Dr. Cowan is MORE than worth the wait! She has a warm, inviting demeanor and never judges. She expresses concerns in a helpful and compassionate manner and she has a fantastic bed side manner. She spends ample time explaining things and she praises her patients when they meet a health goal. She’s a true champion for her patients. I hope she continues to practice for the foreseeable future so, God-willing, she can deliver my children. Her office staff is always friendly and the office is always clean, bright, and cheery. Dr. Cowan has been my OB/GYN for more than 20 years and delivered both of my children. She provides wise counsel in addition to Individualized, personal care. Dr. Cowan has been my gynecologist for 16 years. Dr. Cowan is one of a kind and a rare jewel. She has the knack of delivering expert care while at the same time conveying compassion, humor, and wisdom in an unhurried fashion. Her office runs efficiently and is clean and tidy. Staff is friendly and confident. I've enjoyed being her patient for years.

Dr. Cowan is a fantastic provider. She took me in late in my pregnancy as I moved into the area during my third trimester. It was easy to call her office to ask questions about insurance and send my medical records. She took exceptional care of me. When it came to delivery day, it was her over 30 years of experience that saved my life from unexpected, serious bleeding. She is calm, composed, and nurturing. Some veteran providers can tend to not keep up with literature--not the case with Dr. Cowan. She's very up to date and skilled. After my birth, the nurses and her office got back to me in a timely manner when I had questions and needed help with prescriptions. She takes her time with each patient, which can make everyone else's appointments run late. I recommend that you book your appointment at the early or late end of the day if timeliness is a concern for you. Again, I can't recommend Dr. Cowan enough. Dr. Cowan is a fantastic provider. Dr. Cowan is the nicest doctor I and my wife ever met. She always treats patient with great care and patience. She always speaks sofetly and smiles. She delivered my son 8 years ago. Everything worked smoothly and we have nothing to complain. The only thing my wife complains is the waiting time. But we know that's because she has so many patients and she wants to give every patient the best care.

In an era where "exceptional" one to one patient service excellence has virtually disappeared from this industry, I feel compelled to write a comment on behalf of Dr. Cowan and staff. Dr. Cowan is one of the most amazing human being I have ever met. She is very professional, caring and sensitive to her patients needs. Her staff always go the extra mile to help and accommodate their schedules.

I have been one of Dr. Cowan's patients for approximately 30 years. At each and every appointment, she takes her time and actually listens to your questions or concerns. One example is when I told her I was experiencing high abdominal pain. She said that sounded as if i had a gall bladder issue and referred me to a surgeon for tests. Sure enough, that was exactly what was wrong. I see Dr. Cowan for a Well Woman check-up each year and will continue to do so as long as she is practicing.

Dr. Cowan has been my gynecologist for almost 25 years, and she gets better every year! I barely completed my paperwork when I was shown to the exam room, and had barely changed when Dr. Cowan arrived for my annual well-woman exam. She is always warm and considerate, and the consummate professional. I was very fortunate 12 years ago when she identified uterine cancer at an extremely early stage, and will always be grateful to her for saving my life. She is the best and I highly recommend her!

I’ve been going to her for 30 yrs. She’s seen me through a lot of health issues and every time has told me that she would be with me every step of the way. And she was. I presently live in Austin but make the trip to Houston because I refuse to see anyone else and she’s worth it! Most caring and compassionate doctor I’ve ever been to. I’ve referred her to my friends and every one of them, without exception, loves her. You will not regret having her as your doctor.

I would recommend ANYONE to Dr. Cowan!! She is a God-send!! She has been nothing but caring and nurturing during each appointment. She has been my Obgyn since I was 16 years old, and I am now 47! Thank you, Dr. Cowan for being the BEST doctor I've ever had!

Dr. Cowan is a knowledgeable doctor in her field, but is also very personable. She gives me her attention and concern about my health, but also what is going on in my personal life. She is genuine and caring. I always tell people about her when they ask about who would be a good OB-GYN.

Dr. Cowan is a wonderful doctor and treats patients well. However, you should be prepared to spend a good amount of time waiting for your appointment because she does give personal attention to everyone (which is great) but does not book appointments accordingly (the appointments are booked too close together considering the length of time she spends with each patient). 9 times out of 10 I'd wait more than an hour for my appointment and I'd be one of the first ones of the day.
