Dr. Mary R Romanic

Worst bedside manner and lack of empathy of any doctor I've ever seen in my 50+ years. Very dismissive of my complaints because I didn't have RA, said "nothing was wrong" with me, some of her patients couldn't walk... 5 years later I find I have nerve damage from the issues with my neck that she didn't even address. Sent me to a sleep clinic because "lack of restorative sleep" was causing my severe shoulder pain. Now I've read other reviews and realize I am not alone. Thank god I've found competent, empathetic doctors now who actually can diagnose outside their field of "expertise".

I have been to more doctors in the last 10 months than in the rest of my 32 year old life and I have begged, literally on my knees and other times at the top of my lungs, just to be heard, helped and cared for... Dr. Romanic was able to listen to me before we even met, spoke to each other or had a single exchange... Then during our consult... I could finally see that there exists a physician who saw me for my full value as a human being and someone who truly needed help, care and appreciation.. Thank you, Dr Romanic. I have been seeing Dr. Romanic for 4 1/2 years, and have always been pleased with how she has handled my case. I wish the office had an email system so I can update them with any changes or ask any non urgent questions. Otherwise I am overall very happy to have been referred here!

Dr. Romanic walked into my exam room and our consult was very brief. Be that as it may, that is not to says he did do her due diligence. Within 1.5 minutes after we exchanged formalities it became extensively clear how minutely she had combed through her accessible records to find the exact cause (within her specialty) for my peculiar set of symptoms. I left without substantial answers outside of the fact that there is still a doctor out there who practices medicine beyond what the FDA dictates is "proper procedure". She looked at my drug abused body, the many scars covering me from head to toe and made me feel more human than I had in a long time. She was one of the few providers who had taken the time to really HEAR my complaints and search within the realm of her practice for an answer. I left without any test orders, prescriptions or "Hazzah!" answers. But I did leave with an assurance in her belief that my problems lie outside the world of rheumatology. She did right by me later on by helping me get off the pain-killers I was on by offering me supportive medications (entirely falling within her capacity as a specialist and without breaking the boundary of "never feeding an addict!") to ease the withdrawal symptoms. The only reason she didn't get five stars is because of an incident that occurred sometime later when I had certain rheumatic symptoms and called her for help. She promised to consider my case for a day or so (which was not an absurd request given the obvious amount of thought she had given prior to my earlier consult) and she sounded as though she was taking every word to heart (and I truly believe she was!). But a week later when I hadn't heard from her I started to feel forgotten about. A phone call to the office later and a left message received no return phone call and no contact since. I believe she puts a lot of herself into her work when called for, I believe she will tell you to your face her TRUE thoughts and will recognize suffering that doesn't come from drug-seeking.

This woman can go and kick rocks. You want to be all for me but tell my primary I'm a mental case. ...FUCK YOU. FUCK YOUR PRACTICE. You have no clue mental or physical

I don’t even want to give a one. She told me to take my co-pays and join the ymca.

Dismissive of my symptoms. Not attentive to bloodwork. Missed a significant health issue that was than diagnosed by my primary care doctor.

Please do not waste your time and find a doctor who is willing to take their time to look over your medical records and listen to your concerns. She did not care and easily had tried pushing me to another doctor. Really disappointed as I had waited an hour in the room and 3 months For the appointment. She comes across as nice and competent at first, but I suffered a year of unnecessary pain and illness due to Dr. Romanic's insistence that there was nothing wrong with me, despite a diagnosis from Hopkins (based on bloodwork and symptoms). Dr. Romanic argued that my issues must be psychological and was dismissive, argumentative and ridiculing of my situation. I returned to the Hopkins doctor that diagnosed me, who confirmed the diagnosis once again and was horrified I had remained untreated for a whole year. Romanic also had very long wait times and hardly any availability since, at least at the time, she seemed to be only practicing part-time. I do not recommend her.

Not a great experience. Went to her two times. Both times the wait was almost an hour. As far as how she helped me, she didnt want to spend any time trying to figure out my problem. Just put me on a prescription and sent me on my way No I would NOT recommend going here

Dr. Mary Romanic is worth the wait. I was discouraged by the wait times at first but I ended up being extremely pleased with her services after our first appointment. She explained everything to me clearly and thoroughly. I recommend this doctor.

Dr. Mary Romanic isn't very familiar with Lupus, even though she lists this as one of her specialties. She told me to ignore what previous doctors have told me about having Lupus. It has been verified by blood testing for years in my past. I gave her the list of blood test I need every year and she ignored it. She seems to be unaware that Lupus presents itself with different symptoms in each person. I would not recommend this doctor.

Best lupus specialist around friendly caring n fights for what's best for her patients.

No matter what time my appointment was, even the first one of the day, I waited between 30-60 minutes, sometimes longer. She argued with me about a report from aother physician, and she kept arguing and arguing. I finally told her I didn't know why he wrote what she disagreed with; she should call him. I never went back.
