I am very impressed with Dr. Milam and her staff. On my initial visit, Dr. Milam already had all of my medical information and had been reviewed and already had notes and questions to ask me to fill in some holes in my medical history. I didn’t have to fill out a ton of paperwork first only to have to repeat it once in a room, like most. She is thorough, to the point, and that’s what I want in a provider. I definitely recommend her.

I know a lot of medical professionals in Fort Worth, and I've never heard "rock star" used more to describe someone. Several of the older reviews I see on here reference Dr. Milam's blunt bedside manner, and if that's what you're looking for I don't know what to tell you. If you want the best possible clinical outcome, there is no question. She visited me nightly in the hospital after a major surgery and would not quit until she accurately diagnosed my blood clotting disorder. Sept 26 2016 I had a open heart surgery at Baylor Scott & white All Saints. I was full of blood clots. On October12,2016, when the Baylor Doctors finally brought in Dr. Milam, she diagnosed the cause. I had Heparin Induced Thromboycytopenia(ITP). I had Heparin/Lovenox) Anitibodies or reactions. She not only saved my life, she left a note explaining the Reaction. Baylor did not put it anywhere on my discharge papers nor discussed it with me. Baylor wanted $$$$ to access my records. I have a copy of Miliam's Diagnosis on my smart phone. Since then, I have had other heart procedures. Without her note, I could easily have died. Thank you Dr. Milam for all you have done. I thank you every day of my life.

At the bedside she was cruel, My mother was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer and when speaking to her and other doctors about treatments versus palliative care and Hospice. Dr. Milam looked at my mother and told her directly that if she chose no treatment and decided that Hospice would be her choice, she would die a horrible death. She said that she would rot in the bed with bed sores, Have blood clots that would spread, she would have strokes, and be in pain she could never imagine. I confronted her in front of the surgical team, the hospitalist and a social worker with Baylor Fort Worth. She not scared my mother in a time of need and understanding that my Mother deserved. She is extremely cruel. The social worker said Dr. Milam does this regularly and uses it as a "scare tactic" to push paitents toward treatment. Great doctor. She literally saved my life!! Thank you Dr. Milam! Before I had visited emergency rooms and gynaecologists and they just ran labs and sent me home. This was not the case with Dr. Milam. Almost 38 years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer; within a week I had a radical mastectomy and was referred to Dr. Milam. She was to the point and all business; this was six months before my 40th birthday...I celebrated my 77th birthday in May. I've seen my five grandchildren grown and now enjoying my three great-granddaughters. When my anniversary comes around I always remember Dr. Milam and say a prayer for her and what she does. You can't be a sissy and survive....put your big girl panties on and FIGHT!! I was a Reach to Recovery Volunteer for years and always shared something that Dr. Milam told me......don't look at the treatments ahead of you; Thank God for the ones behind you.! My wife was diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer over 15 years ago. We met with several oncologists before my wife decided on Dr. Milam. She may have been a little short with me but more importantly, she treated my wife with dignity and respect. She devised a treatment plan that included the very best professionals this community has to offer. My wife has lived far past medical expectations and has been able to enjoy the birth and growth of our three grandchildren. There is nothing we could say that could adequately express our gratitude to Dr Milam. My wife was diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer over 15 years ago. I am so thankful that Dr. Milam took care of my wife and did everything in her power to see her through to being 2 years cancer-free. I have never heard of another physician who goes to the lengths that Dr. Milam goes to in order to make sure that each of her patients has the best treatment possible. She comes across as bossy, but she is absolutely fierce in looking after her patients, with no other goal than to insure the best possible outcome for each one. In addition, her staff are all very good, the Chemo Lab nurses are exemplary, and the Lab Techs are superbly talented at what they do. You can tell that she cares deeply about each patient, but she hides it pretty well with her clinical, businesslike approach. I would not hesitate to place myself in her care if it was needed, and would highly recommend her to anyone who wants the best possible chance of beating cancer. This doctor never told my mother nor me, the daughter on record to discuss all her health info, that she was 2 weeks from dying. I confronted her in the hospital and her comment was "You didn't ask." She didn't want to say negative news to patients. I told her that was good but she could at least tell the family so we can prepare. She didn't want to tell us because she would be out $$ from her cancer treatment "cash cow". This has happened to others too. Stay away from her! I wish we had.

She does not accept patients with sickle cell. It is a form of discrimination and bias. It is painful to know that when you need help that doctors and professionals will turn you away because of a blood disorder that you were born with. Hematology is the field of medicine that is supposed to treat this disease and help people but this doctor and her practice have closed there doors to people in pain. In my opinion do not find it a coincidence that a white doctors are not accepting patients with a genetic disorder that mostly affects African Americans. It's a shame that this is happening in 2016. This woman treated my mother for non-hodgkins lymphoma. She told her repeated, "You will take this to the grave it will never take you to the grave". My mother continued her life as usual. Milam makes sure her scribe is in the room typing every word said by all in the room. Milam NEVER told my mother nor me that her condition had worsened. Then one day she wanted to try her on a new drug because what she was on wasn't working as well anymore. This was so new, it was FREE!. We were never she was anything worse than Stage 2. In three weeks this new drug wiped out my mother's energy and appetite. All she could do was sleep. On the 4th week we had a follow up. I asked what could be done to in increase her appetite. Milam put her pen down, turned around, crossed her arms and said, "You have two choices, you can take the pill or not take the pill". She never offered any help nor called to follow up and ask how she was feeling. I took my mother off the pill for one week hoping it would get her hungry enough to eat. It helped a little. The next week she took the pill. Again, she started to sleep all the time and no eating. I called Milams office and talk to one of her nurse who then told me my mother was Stage 4 and I should call Hospice. WHAT??!! And this is the first time you think we should be hearing this!!! The next Monday I had to take her to the hospital. She had a major urinary tract infection, bacteria in her blood system and pneumonia. Milam came to her room and I asked why she never told us how bad she had gotten. "Because you never asked" was her reply. My mother died 10 days after being put in the hospital. Don't be misguided. She is the rudest doctor I have ever known and absolutely no morals in keeping you up to date on your or your loved ones condition. Since this happened to me I have heard this from other previous patients. If you go to her you have to get in her face and let her know you want answers. You have to continually ask what is going on because you cannot depend on her to keep you up to date or you will be hearing, "Because you didn't ask" This woman treated my mother for non-hodgkins lymphoma.
