Dr. Mary Hunt Honkanen

What I appreciate most about Dr. Honkanen is that she uses science (*gasp*) before developing a treatment plan. She diligently works to understand how an individual's body chemistry is working for them, or against them in some cases, before prescribing medication As some of the negative Google reviews point out, you should ONLY see Dr. Honkanen if you're willing to let the science do the talking.

I have been a patient of Dr. Honkanen for 16 years. I was lucky enough to be referred to her. As a professional she is at the top of her game. She is the reason I'm still her to play with my grandkids. If I fall off the medication band wagon and life style she has prescribed; not only does she know it from my blood work but I know it health wise. For those who have made comments about politics, rudeness and not being polite, please find another doctor to be your best buddy. If your in her office it's because your in poor health and need to be told/directed how to live a more healthy life. She has never told me I'm wrong only incorrect in my medical views. Dr. Honkanen has been my physician for over 10 years. She treated my metabolic syndrome and all numbers are at normal ranges which was not the case when I first saw her. When I see other Doctors and they ask about meds and I tell them Dr. Honkanen prescribed it they say then it must be right! She is an excellent Dr. and has always treated me in a courteous and professional manner. ANYONE who considers her rude needs to reflect on their own behavior and go look in the mirror. During my visit Dr. Honkanen got irate because of my vaccine beliefs. She is obviously grossly ill informed. Even though that's not why I was there. I left in tears. I have been her patient for about 10 years.or more.

If you are a Conservative, do not see this Physician. My husband left as politics and Dr. Fauci were her topics. He has never left a Physicians office but her rudeness was off the charts . If you are a conservative or Christian, find someone else.

Dr. Honkanen has been my lipid specialist for decades. She was instrumental in getting my cholesterol under control after I had done everything in my power. I am convinced that I am living a healthier life & will live longer because of her excellent care & expertise. I am a Christian & a conservative.

Very rude to my mother!

Dr. Honkanen is a phenomenal doctor! She will be straightforward with you about what medication can and cannot do, and she will let you know what factors you can control at home as well.

I credit her with finding and managing my cholesterol issue when several others had not

Very proactive in putting me on the right track to better health. Highly recommend, but be ready to accept her recommendations. She does her part, you have to do your part for better health. Her staff is dedicated to assisting you with what ever questions or concerns you may have.

Gives you time to talk, ask questions and understand her suggestions.

Dr Honkanen never rushes you to get to her next patient. She is very through with her diagnosis and speaks in terms you understand. She is very detailed in explaining what you need to do to correct your condition. She is one of the very few doctors left who you can put your total confidence and truly cares about her patients.
