Dr. Martin Schaeffer has a wonderful office staff. I never wait long at the office for my appointment. Dr. Schaeffer is caring and also gives me the time I need to communicate my concerns.

Dr. Martin A. Schaeffer and his entire staff are the BEST! I have been suffering for years. The pain in my knees kept me in tears. I didn't enjoy anything. I was referred to Dr. Schaeffer by Cara Holohan (another great caregiver.) I underwent several injections, no pain didn't feel a thing by Dr. Seo. Caroline Berrios the wonderful lady that put me on Cymbalta!!!!! From the time I walk into the office, until I leave, I'm treated like GOLD! That office should teach other doctor offices how to treat people. I am now walking, grocery shopping and as my husband said, I'm not walking like Herman Munster. Thank you CNY Spine and Pain Medicine, I got my life back

Dr. Schaeffer has been my doctor for 20 years. He listens and gives me time to ask questions. I tell him he is my hero. I don’t have to wait long in the waiting room . His office staff is friendly kind and professional.

Terrible service. Can never get through to his office and they never get back to you. Treated my husband with spinal injections which did nothing. After several months of that, then tells us he could try something else that would help him better. He could have told us that sooner. Said they would call us with an appointment date in a week . Didn't hear from them for two weeks. I called them and they said they were waiting to hear back from from ins. co. That's the last time I spoke to them. They never followed up with us as to the status of why we were still waiting a month later. I never heard from them again. But it doesn't matter anymore bc my husband passed away 2 weeks ago. I’ve been seeing Dr Schaeffer at CNY Spine & Pain for over a year now for severe neck and mid-back pain after trying to work with two other spine pain centers and he is head and shoulders above the rest. The first couple reasons is that he is a great listener and a great communicator, the rare guy who takes the time to listen to you and let you know what he can do for you while setting expectations for every step along the way, giving you a short term and long term plan and outlook. The first part of my treatment was an epidural injection in the neck. The staff was outstanding prior to the procedure, but even better after the injection when I had a bad reaction to the contrast. They were incredible in taking care of me, putting me at ease and helping me relax and feel better. Their effort was over the top and I can’t say enough about how impressed I was & how grateful I am. In addition to doing a great job in the examination room, Dr. Schaeffer and his staff are exceptional at working with the insurance company and with workers compensation. The staff here has been easily accessible and pleasant to deal with on the phone or in person. I didn’t have a lot of hope that I would find someone whom I could trust and who I believe will provide me with some pain relief prior to going here. I have been going to Dr Schaeffer for over 5 years and have never had an issue with any of the providers. They are prompt when you need a medication refill and will always go out of their way to get you an appointment in a urgent situation. A accident left me in so much pain I couldn't move and with treatment from them I am able to move and be the mom I need to be. The front end staff and the nurses deserve a shout out for handling less than ideal situations with dignity. They get the brunt of angry patients because you can't please everyone but they calmly try to figure out what that patient needs and what needs to happen to accomplish that. I would like to share my experience with Dr. Martin Schaeffer. I started seeing Dr. Schaeffer after a car accident I had in 2017. I had whiplash, a severe concussion and damaged discs (4-6). I was sent to Dr. Schaeffer to manage the constant pain. I have never been someone to take medication but the constant pain was becoming over whelming. He listened to me and worked with me to reduce my pain. He also sent me to the Concussion clinic where he also worked closely with the staff. I 100% recommend this office CNY Spine and Pain Medicine.

The office girls are friendly and helpful.Dr Schaeffer is a caring doctor who takes the time to listen and help. Bob Beaumont FNP is fantastic! So glad I switched from NY Spine &Wellness where it has gone downhill over the years. They do not offer the alternative treatments anymore but have pushed the opiates and now injections for they are the money makers. My husband Darryl and I love and thank Dr Schaeffer and his staff for their excellent treatment and care over these last 8 yrs. We travel 5.5 hrs to Syracuse for his wonderful care. Don't recommend this place. Dr Schaeffer is rude, interrupts. And blatantly called me argumentative to his scribe once I was at the check out desk. (Sorry I try to advocate for myself,) Also, does not care that his patients live with chronic pain.. Had an appt, set me in a topical that didn't work. I had called 3 days later and the nurse said I have to come in for another appt to be reevaluated. I was JUST THERE. I was not requesting narcotics to be sent in for god sake. I expressed my concerns (during my office visit) as the many procedures Dr Schaeffer has recommended for me to get, have never worked.. Now I'm supposed to leave work, wait an obscene amount of time for this Dr to only try to be in the room for 5 minutes.. I just don't understand how this place operates as a "pain management office" They only thing being managed is the money taken from my insurance company on a frequent basis due to their lack of patient care.

I have been seeing Dr. Schaeffer for a little over three years now, and I highly recommend him. He is very knowledgeable and always does a good job of explaining care to me. His office can sometimes have a bit of a wait, but I would rather take a wait to see someone who knows what they are doing than no wait with someone else.

I have multiple neck and back injuries and my neck is really small and it makes it difficult to find a Doctor that can alleviate my pain without Drugging me into a coma. I found Dr Schaeffer quite a few years ago, and no one has been able to do what he has done, given me relief, that allowed me to sleep and heal. This is the only pain doctor for your spinal injuries, I trust no other but Dr Schaffer and his Team, they are the best. Thomas Wood

I was reffered to go hear, i have alot of pain and i get a phone call from this practice saying they are discharging me because my husband had asked a question , that has never been answered never said anything about the pratice or my doctor, all that was said was they never answer my questions.

Dr Schaeffers office scheduled spinal injections for me with his assistant. I had to pay something before they even started. They told me that I was preapproved which I wasn’t and then took me in for the procedure which they aborted just as they were finishing numbing injections. They then billed insurance for the full procedure. They would not release my medical records to me and did not until I told them that I was getting a lawyer. They the sent the records minus a mention of the aborted proc

I think Dr. Schaeffer is the best! Here’s the deal- Dr. Schaeffer knows so much about insurance and comp and is a great Dr. He will help you but if you are rude to any of the staff - curse or yell at anyone he will tell you to find another Dr. you can’t be rude to the check in girl and then be all nice to him. And he’s always super super late because he’s in charge and taking care of everything! If you can’t wait don’t go.

Very hard to reach the nurse and their representatives.Have appointment at 2 p.m got seen by doctor at 3:45 p.m and he only spend like 10mins.If you are in so much pain.Seek somewhere else for help.This office is terrible

Dr. Shaffer treated me like a drug addict the whole time I was there, even being recommended to him by certified Chiropractor 1 month after a car accident which totalled my car. Dr. Schaeffer's is one of the only doctors to tell me the truth but I didn't like hearing it at first. He understands everything about how com works and helped me get what I NEEDED from comp to start feeling better. But you need to know YOUR WILL BE KEPT WAITING! I was in a lot of pain so I was willing to wait and hour or even a little more. This isn't McDonald'so folks -I don't need fast I needed quality.

I have been seeing Dr. Schaeffer for about 10 years on and off for different tests etc. Hes a great guy. I never feel rushed and he takes the time to actually listen to my problems. There may be a slight wait to get in but thats the norm for any Dr. who is in the specially field. would recommend him to anyone who needs top notch care.

Dr. Schaeffer was very thorough in his evaluation of my condition. He was kind, caring, and answered all my questions with patience. I am very confident that his treatment will produce positive results.

I have had neuropathy in my feet since 2014 due to the chemo drug Taxol for breast cancer. Although I have seen other doctors for this condition, I feel that after my first visit with Dr. Schaeffer, I have a clear understanding as to why the meds he prescribed might do the trick of reducing the pain. I found him to be caring and concerned. I highly recommend him for women who are experiencing pain from chemo drugs!!!!

Dr. Schaeffer sometimes runs very behind but he is a great doctor. I switched for a while but came back to him. Hi is honest and very smart. If I have to wait for the best care I will. Not all doctors are honest and ethical, waiting is worth it!

Very smart and methodical.

Making a treatment plan took longer than I thought it would, and I didn't actually receive a procedure until the third visit. However after the initial planning, I had a plan I was comfortable with and received an injection. My pain is now almost completely gone, and very manageable.
