Professional, highly intelligent, great bedside manner

If I could give more than 5 Stars I would! Dr. Burke is THE BEST! He saved my life in 2006 after I was diagnosed with MRSA infection that had attached itself to my pacemaker wire leads. I was in very grave condition when my local Electrophysiologist referred me to "Marty" Dr. Burke! He saved me life and removed the infected pacemaker and the wires out of my heart. I am a patient at Dr Burke’s office in Chicago. There are hundreds of doctors in my insurance network. After reviewing a few doctors I came upon Dr. Martin Burke, DO. It was like his name jumped off the page so without a doubt I chose him. I must say it was the best decision I have ever made. I called the office and was able to get an appointment within a few days. Upon arrival I was immediately acknowledged with a smile, cheerful hello and how may I help you. Jack came out introduced himself and that’s when the best doctor’s appointment of my life began. Jack took vitals etc. We talk and laughed, so much so my son said he could hear me laugh. Then in comes Dr. Burke. They both stayed in the room. We went over everything Jack said and more. I could tell they were actually listening. We talked about my options which was totally up to me what I wanted done and when I wanted to do it. Their goal was to give me back my quality of life. I was so comfortable with Dr. Burke and Jack that I made my decision that day. I’ve had a procedure that I had been putting off for more than a year. To sum everything up Dr. Burke, Jack, Jenny, Carrie and all of his staff are wonderful. They put me at ease, they have great bedside manners. They talk to you not at you and they sincerely listen. Dr Burke has the best bed side manner I have ever experienced with a Doctor. He is also excellent at what he does. He takes his time with his procedures,. You never feel rushed when in his presence. A great Doctor in every way!

I was admitted to Palos Hospital with shortness of breath and a low heart rate. Dr. Burke was on duty and stated that I would need a pacemaker and put me at ease about my condition. I feel very lucky to have had Dr. Burke there this time do my surgery; He checked up on me right after my operation and his staff is awesome!! Greatest cardiologist in the world! I saw several and none could figure out my issues. Dr. Burke worked with my neurologist and they figured out my head and heart issues. Great bedside manner.

So knowledgeable and personable. He did my heart ablation procedure. I felt like I was in great hands from start to finish.

My 84+ year old mother has been treated by Dr. Burke for afib over the last four years. A combination of pace maker coupled with Sotolol helped make her treatment manageable. In March of 2019, my mom's condition worsened considerably, becoming chronic, with drugs no longer effective. We tried advanced medicinal treatments with Metoprolol, Tikosyn and Ameodorone - all ineffective. That left us with two choices: mom live with chronic afib and depleted health (and likely less longevity) or catheter ablation, heart procedure. Mom valued quality of life and opted for the riskier (i.e., for her age) catheter ablation procedure. We did a lot of research before choosing Dr. Burke to treat my mom's afib over the years and boy did that pay off! Some doctors would not consider performing the catheter ablation procedure on a women nearing 85 years old. Dr. Burke was willing and based on testimonials from other doctors, hospital staff, patients - we went with Dr. Burke and we are so lucky we did. Mom seems to have rediscovered the fountain of youth, energy levels, skin color, you name if - she is so much healthier since her procedure and recovery. Kudos to Dr. Burke - and his wonderful staff, especially Carrie, Jenny and Patrick. The folks behind the scenes supporting Dr. Burke are skilled professional, very caring, attentive and wonderful to work with! All I can say is every other practice needs to follow suit on how to treat patients as this group, they are truly amazing! Dr. Burke, Carrie, Jenny, Patrick, and the whole staff are awesome. My wife and I had looked for several months trying to find the right group to handle my ablation procedure—we definitely found them in Dr Burke’s practice and staff. From the office visits to the procedure and all the post-op care are beyond anything we’ve experienced with any other health care professionals. Thank You and your team for the exceptional care!

Dr Burke replaced my SICD. The procedure went extremely well. Dr Burke has an excellent bedside manner. I traveled six hour to see him. I highly recommend Dr Burke.

Been seeing Dr. Burke for 6-7 years. Excellent Dr that actually listens - he and his assistant Carrie are what everyone in the medical profession should be. Smart , persistent and amazingly technically qualified. They will work all issues with the most appropriate treatment first....no jumping to a super/costly solution first. I absolutely MISS seeing Dr. Burke! I just might come back to him. He's absolutely fantastic and down-to-earth. He can relate to you easily and explain things in detail. I always have to wait to see him BUT that is never an issue because I know he TAKES his time with each patient. I was seeing him at U of C. I currently have an EP that I am not happy with. He implanted my last two dual chamber pacemakers. The last one was urgent as it abruptly deteriorated and he never was "unsure" of treatment.

He is the best doctor! So intelligent, and able to communicate clearly with his patients. He and his staff are very willing to assist patients. He also has excellent life experience in his field.
