About Dr. Martha I Pyron
Reviews for Dr. Martha I Pyron
I've been seeing Dr. Pyron since the beginning of the pandemic, and she's done a great job paying attention to what I need and helping to find solutions to the problems I've been having without blaming them all indiscriminately on weight. The office design is clearly HAES-informed, with comfortable seating for people of all sizes and blind weigh-ins. The team is also very friendly & helpful, particularly with managing insurance and scheduling issues.

I've been seeing Dr. Pyron for years now and I'm very happy with her care.
I have been seeing Dr Pyron for 10+ years and could not recommend a better doctor who will care for you as a person and patient. We are very thankful for her and her staff.
I have been seeing Dr Pyron for many, many years as a primary care physician and as a Sports Medicine/Orthopedic Dr. She has always had a great staff and a great Physical Therapy team. I feel like a got the perfect all-in-one doctor. She has been there when I hurt my shoulder, broke my knee, and even had bronchitis. She has even been there after hours when she knew it was very important to inform you of something or get you the medicine you need. She also does virtual Dr visits,pt, and one on one training
We are so pleased with Dr. Pyron and her staff, who are always friendly, helpful and professional. Dr. Pyron spends quality time with patients and ensures we understand and agree with her treatment recommendations before leaving her office. I have recommended her to my family members, coworkers and friends.
If you are looking for someone that is friendly, personable, makes you feel heard, and is empathetic do not come here. I have come here a few times and not once have I felt heard or that there was any care shown to me not even pretending to care for my money. The most friendly thing in this office is the dog that comes up to you, smells you, and walks away. Not once have my concerns about my own health been heard and they seem very unprofessional in general. Never coming back.
I really liked Dr. Pyron and her Medical Assistant. I rarely waited long to be seen, they were attentive, and I felt the doctor genuinely cared about my health. However, I quit coming to see her because of the poor office management. The front office always struggled with faxing my blood work orders and coordinating my care with my referring provider. But the real issue I have with the front office is that I have been owed a refund for 4 months, and have not seen a dime. Upon receiving a bill last fall, I learned I was not only overcharged, but one of my credit card payments hadn’t been added to my account. That’s okay, mistakes happen. It’s a drs office in a pandemic, everyone is overwhelmed. If it was something that had been swiftly corrected, I wouldn’t be upset at all. I contacted the office about the billing error. I was told they would get in contact with billing and let me know. A week passed. I would call and leave a voicemail, and no one would call me back. Another week passes, I call again and am told that they haven’t called me back because they haven’t heard from billing. In two weeks your billing dept hasn’t gotten back to you about overcharging a patient? Regardless, the office could’ve called to let me know they got my message and were waiting on an update instead of just ignoring my voicemail. This goes on for a few more weeks until the end of December, I am told the office will be mailing me a check to refund me for the overcharge. It’s now April, I have been back and forth with the office for MONTHS, and I still have yet to see my refund. No check was ever sent. I was told it would be refunded to my credit card weeks ago — nothing. No one ever has any answers when I call. I am just told the office manager or billing is working on it. State law in TX gives providers 30 days to refund an overcharge after it has been brought to their attention. It has been 4 months. I have been patient, I have been kind, and now I have been screwed over. I will be making a formal complaint to the Texas Med Board. I really liked Dr. Pyron and her Medical Assistant. Helpful, efficient, friendly and effective. Glad I found Dr. Pyron and her practice!
I am baffled by the negative reviews. Dr. Pyron literally saved my life on several occasions. She is one of those rare doctors who look at the big picture and do not just try to treat symptoms. She works hard to get to the root cause of the issues. Just to give you an example: on one occasion Dr. Pyron ordered me to have a bone density scan. The scan from the provider came back in the middle of the normal range. However, Dr. Pyron pointed out that since I have been a daily runner for a while, my numbers should be much higher. This is the kind of critical thinking that is missing from most providers. Last year when I saw her with a knee pain, she found that my left leg was swollen and ordered me to get an ultrasound immediately. It turned out to be a blood clot that we managed to treat successfully since. Should I say that just a few weeks before that visit I had a visit with my regular primary care physician who did not notice a thing? I have also taken physical therapy sessions at this location - these sessions (while painful) got me back into running. I would never give up on this practice! Dr. Pyron has been treating not just me, but my family as well. She is the best you can hope for! I am baffled by the negative reviews. Dr. Pyron literally saved my life on several occasions. Agree with emilie’s review. Overheard this so called professional talking with one of the nurses in the hall ABOUT ME after i asked a simple question about the questions on the Eating Disorder Assessment while she was in the room and before she left with the nurse to ‘discuss something’ hearing if ‘i am going to be this way she’s not dealing with it’. As i was humiliated, stunned, and already anxious. Accusatory and demeaning when she came back in walking right in asking what is ‘holding me back’ and arguing ‘trauma’ not an excuse. And despite me saying i had 7 years of being stable her saying since my labs then were not 100% perfect (anemia) that i was not truly well. Well that’s an unfair judgement as well as presuming I’m not ‘wanting ‘ to get well despite me being in a treatment program I AM CHOOSING as a grown adult to pay for for support and getting myself in the right direction. Left continuing to cry and return to my program vowing never to return despite any apology offered. Still shaken by it all and should not have to fear any retaliation or opposition to this review i won’t directly call them with since there is no point. Lastly i arrived to my appointment ON time waiting in the heat and they eventually came to take my temperature which was naturally high. Then called me and left me a message while i was there. Saying i never came. When i was there. So disorganized as a practice Agree with emilie’s review. Dr Pyron is fast to respond and cares about her patients. Makes time out of every appointment to listen to my questions. Office dog is also super sweet ????

Dr Martha is kind but does not value the time of her patients. They’ll bring you the office take your vitals and leave you waiting for an hour. She allegedly specializes in performance, however her performance in ensuring that her patients are taken care is poor. I can say confidently that this doctor has let me down Update! See the doctor's comment below. She decided to respond with a comment on here instead of giving me a call. Her office called me and told me she'd follow up but looks like responding to review on Google is more important than taking care of her patients Dr Martha is kind but does not value the time of her patients. Dr. Pyron was nice enough the first time I went in for a physical. However my follow up was an entirely different experience… Dr. Pyron was condescending, short, unwilling to listen to me, and overall just very rude. I was extremely uncomfortable throughout the appointment and wish I would have had the wherewithal within the moment to get up and walk out after the disrespect I received. I have friends who have had entirely different experiences and I always suggest people form their own opinions, but after being brought to tears by her I will not be returning to this office. Dr. Pyron and the team got me running again!
I've been dealing with pain for years now, and Dr. Pyron and her Physical Therapists were the first to find the underlying cause and work to improve it. You can tell these professionals truly care about their patients' health. I can't recommend them more highly! I depend on reviews, so I write them! ;-) Everyone should, right? I have been a patient of Dr. Pyron for a couple of years, for two separate issues. Dr. Pyron is extremely knowledgeable and skilled in family practice and sports medicine. She takes time to listen, explain and make sure I have any questions asked. The therapists, Jess and Joseph are top notch and know their profession and how to best treat, in this case me! I can't say enough good things about Medicine in Motion! Dr. Pyron and her staff are wonderful and truly care about their patients. I decided to get a second opinion about some back pain I was experiencing and Dr. Pyron actually took the time to understand the issue and provide me a path to recovery. Dr. Rayner is a very knowledgeable physical therapist who helped me not only manage my back pain but actually treat the root cause. Dr. Rayner not only provided therapy that fixed my back pain, but he also took the time to answer my questions and educate me more as to why I was having back pain and how I could minimize it and prevent it in the future. Loved Dr. Pyron! Knowledgeable, very generous with her time (not in a rush) and took a lot of time to troubleshoot the problem so we were sure we had identified the best course of action. I will go back for follow ups and highly recommend her.

I've never had a doctor actually worry about my overall health before. Most of the time, I would go in sick with a bronchial or sinus infection and receive a dose of antibiotics. Instead of just administering antibiotics, which I also did eventually get, Dr. Pyron got tothe bottom of why I was getting sick regularly. She discovered I had mild asthma along with allergies. After starting medicine for the asthma, I haven't had a single bronchial or sinus infection in two years. She is just great.

Dr comes in, checks you out, and lets her assistant know what to write down. She immediately puts you on PT that doesn't help and after a few sessions that put money in her pocket, she recommends an MRI. She doesn't attempt other methods or alternatives. When I asked her for a referral to a manual therapist, she said "OK, but he's only give me a massage". I went to the manual therapist (after 6 useless sessions with her overweight PT) and was relieved of my pains. No MRI, no medicine, no surgery
At best this office is incompetent. It took no less than five phone calls every month (by both the pharmacy and myself) just to get a refill on a prescription. Ever visit they would leave out something that I came in and add something that didn't just I had to come back in and pay another co-pay. She wrongly diagnosed me asthma (I had just completed a triathlon) by adding a spirometry test (which she said was part of routine physical) giving me lung problems for the first time in my life. AVOID!
In the past 5 visits, I have never waited less than 20 minutes for an appointment. My latest appointment was at 8 am and I still waited over 20 minutes even though I was told that I was the first patient of the day. Unfortunately, after all of that wait, I didn't even see the doctor my last visit even though I was told she had insisted on me coming in.
