Although it may appear to a patient that Dr Hensley does not show compassion, please believe me she most certainly takes her job very seriously and to heart. She is very brilliant in treating very aggressive cancers with often poor outcomes. She is honest and upfront and the information she has to report to a patient is probably not the easiest for her or the patient to hear. She was always open and honest with us while she was treating and trying her best to prolong my sister's life. My sister was hospitalized several times and Dr Hensley was on top of her care throughout her admissions and made sure my sister received the best possible care. We owe her a debt of gratitude for her expertise and kindness and compassion. If she appears to lack compassion, please understand she is probably guarding her heart so she can carry on with this very heart wrenching work that she has dedicated her life to giving her patients more time. Our family is so grateful to you and the time you gave us.

Spent two hours driving each way to get her opinion on a very rare type of cancer which has no standard treatment. When we finally got to see her, all she did was spew out a bunch of numbers and cited literature which is readily available on line, showed no signs of empathy and did not give her opinion- which is why we went to see her in the first place. What a waste of time and money! Said she would call back with results and never did.

Lacks bedside manner, lacks empathy, patient feels like just a number, avoids questions and does not provide adequate or thorough answers. Clearly does not like to be bothered with questions or provide guidance. Her lack of empathy is very clear to the patient and family.
