As much as I would like to recommend Dr Meyers I am inclined to tell you to stay away. She is impersonal, aloof and lacks compassion in the field of oncology where compassion is in high demand. She is not meticulous in her follow up on conditions that need constant revaluation. I recommend you get a second opinion from someone else at MSK.

Dr. Meyers has a foot out the door the minute she arrives for your appointment. She asks few questions and doesn’t do basic queries about patient’s psycho social health. Meyers has a lot of gatekeepers, including her NP, who communicates for her. I wish had gone to Memorial Sloan Kettering instead. I am truly not impressed by the care I received at NYU Perlmutter. Dr Meyers shows little warmth or caring. Maybe she thinks it’s not important to be compassionate because all her patients will be dead of breast cancer soon enough.

She is warm and thoughtful and attentive. Her nurse is also very caring.

Dr Meyers is warm, caring, knowledgeable and an all round great doctor. Her appointments run on schedule. Her staff is equally caring and efficient. There are probably hundreds of oncologists between my house and Perlmutter Cancer Center but I continue to make the trip because of the outstanding care I’ve received.

I went to see her about some DCIS and she was super supportive, informative and helpful. Very nice manner, gentle, smart and astute. I liked her very much.

If I could give her 10 stars I would. She is the most caring, kind and knowledgeable medical oncologist I have worked with. If you want to be taken seriously and be confident in your care go and see her. It will be the easiest and best decision you will make during your journey through breast cancer.

I am a current patient of Dr. Meyers who can not get her to return a message or phone call concerning a difficult chemotheraphy side-effect I'm experiencing. I have politely written and called for advice and assistance since it is not typical of the chemo I'm receiving and it's frightening. I have been completely ignored, not even meriting a response. She is unavailable and seemingly unconcerned.

I was a breast cancer patient of Dr. Meyers. At first everything was great, but once chemo ended it was like I didn't exist. It was impossible to get an appointment even if I wasn't feeling well, I would have to wait 3 months. She is rarely available and her NP is absolutely horrendous. I called telling them I had an allergic reaction to the medication they gave me and the NP (b/c it is impossible to reach her) told me I was overreacting and to go about my day; I spent a week in the hospital.

Dr. Marleen Meyers is knowledgeable and skilled in her treatment of my breast cancer. She is supportive and positive and is also one of the loveliest people I've ever known. I can't recommend her highly enough!

We are talking about cancer care here. A patient should be able to trust his or her oncologist. Dr. Meyers treats the disease, not the patient.
