Mark Steven Spitzer

Dr Spitzer and his staff are wonderful people. Period. I moved to Oregon in 2006 and that is the ONLY reason I am no longer an active patient. I have not been able to find another DO that I feel cares about their patients as much as Dr. Spitzer does. He performed at least 5 sinus surgeries on me over the years and treated many sinus infections. Four surgeries were related to infections due to Sjogrens, an autoimmune disease, which the dry air of the Central Valley was a contributor. The fifth surgery was from a blood vessel in my sinus rupturing and hemorrhaging followed by emergency surgery to repair and an overnight observation stay in hospital due to the large amount of blood loss. Dr Spitzer's calm personality and empathy, as well as his wealth of knowledge are just a few of the reasons I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. He is the only doctor I have ever had with an extensive knowledge of Sjogrens. Most doctors just hear the word but don't really understand much about it. He helped educate me about Sjogrens after I was diagnosed at UCSF. He urged my husband and I to move North, where the humidity is higher, for my health, after needing so many surgeries and continual problems. I will be back to see him when and if I need his assistance, advice, and care again. He is a wonderful human being. I really miss Dr Spitzer.

Dr. Spitzer is AWESOME!! He takes his time, he explains your situation, reviews test results closely and explains that as well. His staff are very friendly and helpful. I am grateful that he is still practicing.

In March, I went to see Dr. Spitzer because I lost my voice and had a throaty cough. After many visits for this problem, he ordered a CT scan. My throat hurt and my cough was keeping me awake and also was hurting my internal organs. I had called his office several times begging for help but they said wait for your next appointment or you should see your primary care doctor. I told them I was seeing Dr. Spitzer for this problem, very uncaring staff. Well I had the CT scan and Dr. Spitzer waited for over a month to tell me that my lymph nodes were swollen. Didn't seem concerned, in fact, he appeared to be irritated because I brought my daughter-in-law with me to my appointment because she had written down information about what was going on with me but the doctor told her he didn't need the notes. He said he couldn't help me. I went to Stanford and found out that I have cancer in my lymph nodes. He's a doctor and should know. Nonoperational, no cure. Terrible doctor and deadly for me.

Dr spitzer is great and very thorough. His staff are extremely rude. They are some of the most unfriendly people I’ve had to deal with. It’s too bad because as much as I like spitzer, I’m going to have to find another doctor ????

Very bad place to go , Dr. Staff sucks, very uncaring staff, I had thyroid cancer, then four year later ,I found a lump in my throat, staff, said ,I could not see the Dr. For a month, That B.S, , So don't go there any more , I would not tell anyone else to go there

Excellent provider of service. Had skin cancer surgery on my nose in 2012 and Dr Spitzer explained the surgical procedure in detail to me. Very nice bedside manner.

After my 2yr old suffered with ear problems the first 1 1/2yrs of his life this doctor after one appointment had a surgery date for him. So incredibly happy to have him as a doctor he has great bedside manor is a wonderful doctor. Old school and I love that.

Dr. Spitzer and his staff are helpful, kind and knowledgeable. Both of my children had surgeries within a few months of each other and their health has been better than ever! We can't say enough good about Dr. Spitzer and his kindness, compassion and excellence in his field. Thank you for all of your help!!

Very arrogant and rude doctor. Hes not 100 percent competent which caused me not to trust him. He gets angry when asked in-depth questions and thinks nothing of directing personal insults. I have heard others tell me to stay away from that doctor. He broke a patient's eye socket which caused the man to have to undergo several surgeries at Stanford. Very arrogant and rude doctor. Took years to find someone who actually knew what was causing my ear problems. I have been hearing better every since I became a patient. Thank you Spitzer and staff!

My husband had been to another ENT specialist in our area a few years ago for a different problem than today's visit. Neither of us remember the doctor being as thorough and compassionate as Dr. Spitzer was. He was very informative as well. Kudos to Dr. spitzer & his office staff!

This doctor is an amazing doctor. I got my stents out today and I can smell, taste breathe. I thank God for this man as he was nt afraid to do what 4 before him would not try.

Dr. Spitzer is a great listener and he values what you have to say. I know if I tell him how I am feeling he is listening and will try to help me in anyway possible to relieve my anxiety about the situation. He will do everything he can to make you feel comfortable and will go beyond to make you well... A staff that is amazing every time I go in the office.

I have renewed faith in medicine because of Dr. Spitzer! His kind and genuine "bedside manner" is unsurpassed in my experience. He is everything I value most in a doctor: thorough, concerned, patient, gentle and HIGHLY knowledgeable. I cannot say enough about how happy I am to have found him. Exceptional.

I would not recommend Mark Spitzer. I went in for a standard sinus surgery. When I woke up from the surgery, I had double vision. After several weeks under Spitzer's care, I had a CT scan at Stanford (self referral) and found he had broken my eye socket during the surgery. One of my eye muscles became lodged in the fracture. I had to have my eye socket replaced and underwent 4 surgeries after. It has been 2 years, I just had my last surgery at Stanford. I now have permanent double vision.
