Mark M Souweidane

Dr.Souweidane is the best and highly skilled surgeon. He has done all of my surgeries since I was born and I feel completely safe with him and his amazing team. He explains everything in details so that you can fully understand.

Dr. Souweidane and his entire team have been wonderful. Our one-year-old son received a craniotomy fenestration for a sizable arachnoid cyst and has healed beautifully(currently, 2 months post-op). After consulting with a few neurosurgeons, Dr. Souweidane was the apparent choice and fit for our son’s surgery. His experience and knowledge along with his confidence and compassion were just a few things that made us feel our son was in good hands. In addition, the hospital child life specialist, picu staff, and neurosurgery team were also attentive and exceptional. All those involved in our son’s care took a very stressful and confusing time and turned it into an experience where we felt heard, cared for, and thankful for people who truly wanted to help our son get well quickly. We are forever grateful.

Dr. Souweidane is great. Easy to get an appointment, really takes time and focuses during your visit. Obviously loves what he does and is dedicated to providing the best neurosurgical care in NYC. Of course, his team is terrific, too. I am so grateful to be under their care.

My daughter received the best care at the best hospital with the ULTIMATE doctor , DR Souweidane . His demeanor is so calming and reassuring . He was the only doctor that we trusted to operate on our daughter . His team held our hands every step of the way from start to finish of our daughters surgery .

We reached out for a second opinion. When we first met, he immediately recognized my daughters name from the tri-state tumor boards. I know we weren’t “just patients “ because the follow day he reviewed her MRI images AGAIN. The next day his nurse called me and recommended other testings. I am very grateful for that visit, Dr. Soudeiwane truly doesn’t leave a stone unturned. I am touched by his intuition , concern and visual prowess in my daughters case.

I travelled cross country for my colloid cyst resection. We discussed my case over the phone and then Dr S’s team made all the arrangements. I found Dr S very personable, knowledgeable, confident and detailed. I am now 1 day post-op of an uneventful surgical endoscopy to remove the cyst. I am pretty much asymptomatic. I would highly recommend Dr S to any patient needing neurosurgical or endoscopic neurosurgical care.

In November of 2021, I had a 5mm colloid cyst removed endoscopically by Souweidane and his team. Travelled to NYC from LA to have this particular group of people. Stayed in the hospital one night (one night!) after brain surgery. The facility is a well-oiled machine, and the staff is lovely overall. No one likes having to go through this kind of thing, but I'm eternally grateful for Dr. Souweidane, Alexa the Nurse Practitioner, Synda his Physician Assistant, Stacey the surgical coordinator and everyone else who made this very difficult time easier. Still can't believe how fast I healed, and I was always encouraged to reach out to this team, even three months post op, and get questions answered. My child was diagnosed incidentally, we were quickly referred to Dr. Souweidane's, she was quickly sent for further testing to confirm diagnoses and we were given all our options and recommendations. Excellent team, great collaboration, thorough and very approachable. I felt comfortable under their care.

Dr. Souweidane is the best of the best. Unfortunately, after 15 years my tumor is back- but I feel confident with the doc and the team!

As good as the brain surgery experience can get I guess. Dr Souweidane and his team were there whenever I needed anything. The surgery went great, the NY Presbeterian hospital was extraordinary. Greatful for everything!

Dr. Souweidane is truly one of a kind. His expertise, knowledge, patience, and care is something else. I cannot express the level of comfort I had knowing my 8 week old daughter was in his hands when she needed surgery. He kept me engaged every step of the way and is an incredible physician and human being. Thanks to him and his recommendations, I am confident she will be a healthy baby. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else-he’s fantastic.

I met Dr.Souweidane when my daughter was 1 years old . Scariest moment of my life , until I met him . He is the best , most nicest person , humble kind Doctor I have ever met , His staff is amazing . He took care of my daughter , he’s has done all three of her brain surgeries . My daughter is now 19 years old & continues to see him . Because of him she’s alive & healthy . I found Dr. Souweidane and his team exceptional! I have not been feeling well and wanted a second opinion, for the two (2) benign brain tumors that I was diagnosed with two years ago. He put me at ease, and deftly addressed my concerns. Whew! All of my friends and colleagues had been overwhelming me with predictions of 11 hour surgery for each tumor. This will not be the case!!! We will become re-acquainted in a year when he wants me to have an MRI. Yes. Excellent and caring doctor.

Dr Souweidane was so nice, personable and very honest. He saw my four month old son to rule out craniosynostosis. While he gave an in-depth exam of my son’s skull, he was also able to make the little guy laugh and ease our stress. I feel truly lucky that we got to see Dr Souweidane.

Let me say, I first handly attest to them providing clear and concised information. Even within learning day's put on by the Hydrocephalus Association and at other respective institutions. Hence, being well versed within their related fields. Any family will experience Compassionate, Competence and Excellence to say the least.
