Dr. Mark Rasmussen is the best orthopedist I have ever encountered over all my life, many visits (and other surgeries) in 3 midwestern cities. I highly recommend him, both as a surgeon, and as a person in the way he relates to his patients. I have two wonderfully working knee replacements which speak to his expertise.

The Dr was very helpful. He answered all of my questions.

Knowledgeable and quite congenial. Always feel he has time for me.

The entire team was very professional. Dr. Rasmussen provided very clear information about what I should plan to do, and what the recovery would involve. I highly recommend anyone to the group.

He is an excellent surgeon and I heard nothing but praise from other patients I have met outside the clinic’s office who he performed knee surgery. I am very pleased with my all around experience with him and his staff.

I went in with a torn meniscus. I went to physical therapy at an unaffiliated facility. My knee got no better. I’ve had problems with my knees after playing sports for most of my life. Between the time of the injury and after PT my knee didn’t get better and because I limped through that time I ended up with bone on bone issues with both knees. After a year of suffering I finally decided to see Doctor Rasmussen. He gave me a couple of options, knee brace because I was afraid of surgery or knee replacement. Eventually I went with the surgery. After both surgeries I was up a few hours after the anesthesia wore off and walking with a walker. I went home the next day. The recovery went very well. Every follow-up Dr Rasmussen was attentive, answering all of my questions and very friendly. It’s been less than a since my last surgery and I my knees are better than ever. No one notices the scars unless I point them out. I highly recommend him.

Wonderful and professional. I had two knee replacement surgeries during this Covid stuff and all was clean and very professional. I actually started coughing during surgery...acid reflux, but from what I learned it was taken care of promptly and professionally. If I had three knees, I would go back to Dr. Mark.

Scoped my right knee following an injury... in my experience he was thorough and provided good long-term advice. Repaired 2 meniscus tears and found a bone spur which did not show up on the MRI. I am now 2 years post-repair, and his advice regarding running has me back in business at age 57

I saw Dr. Rasmussen for a second opinion. He was attentive and listened to my situation. He spent quite a long time with me and I was very impressed. I will continue to be a patient.Plus, he has a sense of humor!

People always say how badly VA doctors treat veterans. I can honestly say the doctors I have seen at the VA have treated me very well. The VA paid for me to see Dr. Rasmussen for severe arthritis is both knees. The funny thing is I have been going to his office for almost 7 months and I have never met him. He hasn’t even met me to discuss any of my care. His PA is a wonderful and very knowledgeable lady. I ask myself is this how Dr Rasmussen treats all his Leawood patients and the answer that keeps coming to my mind is NO. I have been contracted out for community care several times and this is the first time I have encountered this situation. This bothers me because I am a person who should receive the same care as anyone else. The very least a doctor can do is look you in the eye and acknowledge you as a person. I served this nation for 30 years and have been suffering with this condition for 7 years. The least he could do was meet me and assure me I am in good hands. Great Businessman. Poor Doctor. Poor Surgeon. I was a workman’s comp patient and at first I really liked him. But, it is obvious that he serves workman’s comp rather than medicine to keep that business. After two years, I can say I am no better off now than I was before the surgery. “If it is not right, it obviously was not done right” was what a hip replacement patient told me. I’ll have to go through the surgery again.

I had a right knee replacement performed in 2014 at the Leawood facility. I found the entire experience more than I could ever have imagined. From receptionist, to the entire staff assisting Dr. Rasmussen, there are not enough adequate words of praise and appreciation to describe the care and courtesy given to me. Dr. Rasmussen has my eyernal gratitude for his proficient skulls and knowledge to provide myself and his patients a better life. I have not to this date had one iota of pain. 5+

Definitely one of the best physicians

I am 100% satisfied with the results of two knee surgeries/replacements. My quality-of-life is much better and the care and treatment I was given was absolutely fantastic. If you need the surgery done don't put it off, get it done!

Dr. Mark is wonderful, almost 22 years ago he completed rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder and I was back playing golf within 3 1/2 months with a full range of motion. A few years later the right one had to be operated on and again I was back playing softball & golf within 3 1/2 months. He is a great Doctor, listens well to my needs and is a caring person!

He has done. Both my husband's knees over the past 2-3 yr's .. I can't say enough about the excellent and professional care he gives. The surgical center is like ICU for orthopedic surgery/ patients. No other kind of patient is in this center ( markedly reducing chances for infections). My husband and are going to Israel this month ! Lots of walking ..he is ready ! Thanks Dr R ???? He has done. Absolutely avoid this doctor at all costs - he does not listen to his patients. My life had been ruined by his avoidance of scheduling surgery. I went to him over a year ago already diagnosed in need dual knee replacements and he tried to tell me to just keep doing PT and I might never need surgery. A few months later I told him it's getting worse not better and he set another benchmark. Wasn't till I begged for pain relief from his nurse she put me on surgery schedule 6 months out, no thanks
