Mark V. Queralt

I made an appointment to see Dr. Queralt on Feb. 1 and when i got there they had the chiropractor do my appointment instead of the Dr. She said they worked as a team and that she would be examining me. She didn't do any sort of tests on my back just asked me to do some movements and asked me to describe the pain. She then told me that it was my "nervous system going haywire" and that there was nothing physically wrong with my back and that i should just try and keep a regular schedule. I told her at the appointment that the pain would come on suddenly and i was worried about what i could do the next time it happened because this was a recurring back issue for at least the past year and it's completely debilitating. She said since i now had established care with them i'd be able to get prescription filled quickly if i had back pain again. I was charged over $100 for my visit with insurance. On May 9 the back pain returned and when i called she said she couldn't fill a prescription for me and I would have to come in again. I don't know about the Dr. but the chiropractor on his team is just trying to get people to come in multiple times so she can collect money and not offer any relief or solutions. One a continuum of Awful to Fabulous, Dr. Queralt is at the top of the Fabulous End. He has the X factor that can't be taught in medical school. By that I mean, not only does the doctor assess and diagnose the source of your pain (in my case expideciously) but all the while being invested in the process and being so thoughtful and as genuine as your next best friend. I am a very well educated retired educator so I appreciated Dr. Queralt taking his scarce time to share his reasoning and knowledge. You have been to that doctor who is kind of stingy or too impatient or too taxed to expend his/her energy on educating you, or spending one minute more than the minimum to "get his job done." Dr. Queralt is not that kind of doctor. The best part about his innate style is that it engenders TRUST and CONFIDENCE. That is not only pleasant but probably ensures a better outcome for you because you are more likely to follow through on prescribed treatment. So Dr. Queralt who I met for the first time a few hours ago is 5 stars. But, I would like to also say, so is the UT Health Austin facility. The parking is very easy with easy access to the offices. Dr. Queralt is a one of a kind doctor. He’s so incredibly kind and you feel like you’re his first patient of the day during your appointments. I went in to see Dr. Q for neck pain. My neck pain was consistent for 3 months and happened every time I picked up my toddler. After a few weeks of observation and evaluation, his incredible team was able to come up with a great plan of recovery. My pain has reduced by 95% in just a few days of stretches and exercises, assigned by his amazing team of chiropractors and physical therapist. I had seen 2 different chiropractors before Mark and both were unable to help me with the pain. They told me it could take them months to fix my neck with adjustments. It took Mark’s team 2 weeks and nobody adjusted my spine, as the issue was muscular, not spinal. Mark and his team have restored my faith in doctors. In recent years I had been suffering from recurrent neck pain. When I saw Dr. Queralt, after I described my problem, he had a therapist come into the room to show me two simple exercises. I now never suffer from neck pain, because I immediately do the two simple exercises when I feel incipient pain.

I was on multiple pain medication for years due to my chronic back pain. My wife took me to see Dr. Queralt in a wheelchair due to my sevear pain. The Dr. Showed me an exercise to push the bulging disc away from my spinal cord nerves in the office and I was able to walk out of his office pushing the wheelchair. Terrible doctor. I see why so many people have a hard time finding a good spine/back doctor. Apparently this quack has some convinced he is great. He misread my MRI's (one which he ordered himself) as well as missed the mark doing an epidural steroid injection and punctured my meniscus. The miss lead to 0 relief from the pain and being unable to walk or rise from the bed for 2 days or so due to the meniscus puncture.

" He`s no longer with us . " I can see a surgeon in 3 weeks . Seems like a waste of surgical potential ( or a way to push surgery ; so much more lucrative for a hospital ). I miss Mark, and will keep searching .

If you are in pain & looking for relief don't go to him! I was referred to him because MRI's showed that I had problems (w/ back and neck) all he could say about my test results was that most peoples MRI show them to have these same problems. Saw him for 2 totally separate issues (my mistake for going back 2nd time) and was given the exact same speech both times. Even after explaining that I was in a lot of pain, was told on both visits that all I needed was to get more sleep.

Dr Queralt was very caring and paid close attention to my symptoms. Another doctor in his office had dismissed some of my symptoms. Because Dr Queralt listened to all my symptoms he was able to order the correct MRI and discover I needed surgery.

Nuses and desk were out of this world great! However I wouldn't recommend Dr Queralt to anyone. He was rude, unieducated to my test results and frankly mean. He said he didn't know why I was there and that he doesn't give pills. I have a pain dr. I wasn't there for pills. I was there for a neck issue. I waited weeks to see him. I have two herniated disks in my neck pressing into two nerve roots. His recommendation, sleep more. However he did compliment my shoes. Waste of a day off.
