Mr. Mark J Pidala

I have been a patient of Dr Pidala's since 2005. As always, my experience with Dr. Pidala was a 10 plus. Thankful he is our colon doctor! He cured my husband.

Dr. Pidala has no competition. He sets the standards for all other doctors in patient CARE! I highly recommend him!

I have had five surgeries with Dr. Pidala, I think people are confusing his confidence with arrogance. He doesn’t sugar coat it, he tells you like it is. Then he fixes it. He is very knowledgeable, an excellent Surgeon and he was extremely caring with me. Anytime I needed him, all I had to do was call and he met me in the ER. I will always be thankful for what Dr Pidala has done for me.

The best. I've been a patient of Dr. Pidala for nearly 15 years, and feel 100% confident in knowing I am receiving the absolute best care and the most sound advice/treatment when I go for a visit. Can't say enough good things.

Arrogant and condescending to say the very least. Made a serious mistake during an office visit that landed my mom in the ER. Never showed much concern at all. His staff was wonderful and caring but that doesn’t make up for his inability to apologize for making a life threatening mistake. Thankfully we moved on to a more professional and caring doctor at MD Anderson. Do not recommend this guy at all.

Dr. Pidala is wonderful, he saved my life! He is the best surgeon for your fanny! His Nurse Nelda on the other hand is rude. She doesn't care about you, she guesses she should contact the doctor for you and speaks to patients like they are stupid. I don't understand why anyone would be in the line of work being around working with people/sick people/people who are not feeling well.

Exceptionally intelligent and personable. Listens, asks questions, answers questions. Very confident and makes patient feel confident. One of the finest doctors I have met

It has been 6 months since Dr. Pidala performed a colon resection due to diverticulitis. I simply cannot say enough positive things on him or his staff. I found him to be cautious regarding the initial consideration of the surgery, extremely thorough in his examinations and testing, and explanatory in his findings, opinion and long term plan on my care. I would highly recommend Dr. Pidala. I am now pain free and no longer under the stress or sickness that came along with my disease.

I overheard him speaking to nurses at the hospital. He was so condescending and arrogant. He was actually wrong about the issue and continued to badger them. I would never trust someone who acted this way. There are plenty of other competent and compassionate surgeons. A pilot for a plane is nothing without support crew. A doctor is no better. You are no better than how you treat the people around you. Get over yourself and treat your nurses better. Shameful.

Although he is competent, to look at you he charges an additional $260 fee (for a surgery) of looking in your rear-end (in addition to the normal office visit fee). This is not mentioned anywhere and is dishonest. I have never seen this sort of fleecing for any other specialist I have been to...even when they do x-rays. Buyer beware!!

Staff was fine. Dr. Not so much. I drove 30 minutes, to another doctor, who actual cared and did surgery that the the Doctor said nothing was wrong.

Had extremely good experience with Dr. Pidala and all of his staff. Cancer was a very scary diagnosis to us, Dr. Pidala explained very well what we were in for as far as surgeries and set backs. Can't say enough great things about the care I received by all involved in my care. Myself and my wife will definitely and have already recommended Dr. Pidala to other patients. He answered all of my questions. My first visit was on an emergency basis and he stayed late to help me. I have confidence in his ability and appreciate his caring attitude.

The care that I relieved at Northwest Hospital, from Dr. Pidala's staff and nurse, as well as from Dr. Pidala was exceptional. I could not have asked for better care. I highly recommend Dr. Pidala. I cannot imagine a better surgical and post-op experience.

He is an excellent surgeon. Very compassionate and spends time with his patients in explaining his plan of treatment. I was apprehensive in wanting to have colon surgery byt after meeting I had all the confidence in him and his expertise

He's the man of his words. He did what he had promised to do to to help my mom who's a colon cancer(stage iv) patient with metastases in her liver and lungs. She wasn't able to keep food or even liquids in her system. My mom is still in the recovery phase but Dr. Pidala came as a blessing to our family. He scheduled my mother the very next day he saw her and was extremely nice to all of us. God bless him!
