Dr. Mark Joseph Messing

Very informative and relaxed. Answers all questions and keeps up with medical history.

Dr. Messing took me on as an ovarian cancer patient after my initial rounds of chemo were complete. When he went in to do my hysterectomy, things were not in good shape and he did not continue. He prescribed an additional drug that removed my tumor from my intestine and helped clean up my omentum so he could get all of the tumor and most of cancer cells out. He is always thoughtful about balancing my quality of life with my treatment, answers any questions, and provides options and recommendations. He also has a strong dedicated staff who are excellent In their areas as well. Would highly recommend!

Dr. Messing is great and he took good care of me during very scary times. He’s a great surgeon. He listened to my concerns and waited for consults with other Specialists before I had to make a very difficult decision for the sake of my health.

Was very impressed with Dr Messing and his staff. They were all wonderful and kind when dealing with me.

Dr. Messing was very understanding and listened attentively to my concerns. I was able to schedule my surgery quickly with the aid of his professional staff. During my post-op recovery my concerns and questions were answered clearly and compassionately by Dr. Messing.

I LOVE THSE PEOPLE. EVERYONE IS VERY NICE AND CONCERIRATE IN THE LAB,,DOCTORS OFFICE AND IN THE TREATMENT ROOM. I WOULD GLADLY RECOMMEND TEXAS ONCOLOGY TO ANYONE WHO NEEDED THEIR CARE.

The staff and Dr.Messing are profesional and treat you with respect.

Dr. Messing is a good Doctor, he will take the time to answer all you questions about your treatments. He makes you feel comfortable in his care. I would recommend him to anyone who needs cancer treatments.

Extremely happy with my care from Dr. Messing and his staff, including Robotic procedure that allowed quicker healing and return to work. No complaints. Spent extensive time at appointments. Staff returns calls promptly.

I've been Dr. Messing's patient since fall of 2019. He has great bedside manner, and obviously has a great deal of experience and knowledge. He took his time explaining my treatments. His entire staff is wonderful and the chemo staff is as well. I highly recommend Dr. Messing and Texas Oncology.

Dr. Messing and his team are angels sent straight from heaven! In 2015 I was diagnosed with stage 3C ovarian cancer and was overwhelmed. Dr. Messing and his team explained every step clearly and calmly which helped me feel powerful and confident that I was doing everything possible to fight this disease. Easy to work with, great sense of humor, speaks plainly and clearly to make sure I understand everything, friendly and caring, all together wonderful :). Dr.Messing helped my friend get through ovarian cancer it was never to be seen again.She lived a very good life up until she died from old age recently Nothing bad to say about this awesome Dr.

I know I am doing as well as I am today because he has been my doctor and strive to give me the best quality of life for as long as possible. I recommend him wholeheartedly. Dr. Messing is a talented surgeon, an intelligent and confident physician, who displays incredible patience, a genuine interest in the wellbeing of his patients and a warm sense of humor. I trusted him with my life in March of 2014 when I was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer and required immediate surgery. I was petrified by the diagnosis and prognosis, and Dr. Messing took the time to patiently and thoroughly respond to the plethora of questions that I needed answered before moving forward. I am forever grateful to Dr. Messing as his proactive diagnosis and advanced surgical skills saved my life. Recently when alarmed by enlarged lymph nodes that may have signaled the re-emergence of cancer, Dr. Messing made time in his extremely busy schedule hours before the start of the Christmas holidays to assess and diagnose the situation. He is a very special surgeon and physician.

I have been going to see Dr. Messing since May of 2005, he is a lot of the reason I am still alive, I have fought cancer three times in the last 15 years, I owe him a lot, he's a fantastic doctor and a good friend when needed. He has helped me mentally, physically and spiritually. I would recommend him to all that needs a excellent doctor.

I've been a patient of Dr. Messing since 2006. Diagnosed w/ovarian cancer. Had some recurrences since 2016. He has always researched & provided me w/the best solution.

Upon expressing her concerns re her symptoms, he proceeded to explain away her symptoms as anything other than a recurrence of cancer. Wouldn't it be great if a doctor's speculations sufficed when addressing cancer (in lieu of concrete testing)? Does my sister need to experience the classic symptoms of cancer (which by then it's too late) for the doctor to request/approve additional testing? My sister, a nurse by profession ( for 23 years) (including oncology) explained (at length) her concerns. At the end, he (and his nurse) both told her that the testing she requested would be denied. Whatever happened to compassion, due diligence, respect for the patient, and honoring the Hippocratic Oath? My sister's health and well being is imperative. Mere speculation and conjecture re the symptoms she is experiencing will not suffice.

Does not give a prognosis or else he will tell you something else. Arranges needless operations.

Dr. Messing's bedside manner is the worst I've seen of any physician in any specialty. He is rude, dismissive, and treats family members as if they are in the way, rather than part of the process. He told my mother that a second opinion was a waste of time, as they would just tell her the same thing. Any physician worth their salt not only supports but encourages a second opinion. We begged my mother to get a second opinion but she didn't want to upset Dr. Messing. She lost her battle.

Excellent experience. Just had a full hysterectomy for preventative care...my biopsy had come back pre cancer. Dr Messing did not rush into surgery as my first option but tried alternative options frst. Surgery went well and Texas Methodist Southlake provided excellent care. I would highly recommend Dr Messing and thee staff at the surgery and aftercare. Very positive experience. Excellent experience. The day of my family members surgery, Dr. Messing came in before surgery and acted like he had better places to be and was very dismissive to all of her questions. They dropped the ball and took TWO weeks to deliver CT results that could have coordinated care better and during her post op visit they did lab work and MAILED the results.. Which were ABNORMAL!!! Very disappointed with our experience given that Texas Oncology has such a distinguished reputation. Would NOT recommend him!
