Dr. Mark Stephen Mctammany

Was great until December. Apparently he closed his practice. When I was just there, and I need my lab results. No letter, no call, no way of getting medical records. This is illegal and unethical. If any staff or Dr is reading this advice to yout patience on how to obtain THEIR medical record would be nice. If you call it goes in a loop stating to leave a message which you cant do, just cycles through over and over. There is no patient portal to even attempt.

So Dr McTammany retired, apparently without any notification to his patients. I called to get a prescription refilled and got a message saying he retired 12/31/22. The message says I can go to my patient portal to get my medical records or leave a voice mail and someone will get back to me. I can not find a patient portal and the message is an endless loop that does not give you an opportunity to leave a message. My medical records are in some kind of black hole with no opportunity for retrieval. I have never known of a doctor retiring without some kind of notification and a good system in place for transfer of records. This is very disappointing.

I had a hysterectomy in; November of 2020, Dr. McTammany gutted me where I haven't had feeling in my lower abdomen area until a month ago and now, I'm having severe pain and Im so swollen in my lower abdomen and it's so heavy that I feel like I'm about to burst open. On top of not having any feeling for two yrs, just for feeling to return and now I'm in constant pain. I had questions right after surgery and every concern I voiced he dismissed. Now I'm waiting for an appointment with another GYN and I will keep you updated on the results. Is their anyone else that feel like you were gutted by this Dr?

Dr. Mctammany was my Doctor for over 20 years. He is one of the best Doctors I've ever known on every level. He never steered me wrong. Total professional in his field. Phenomenal bedside manner and yes, has a great sense of humor which only helps any patients be more relaxed without question. My only problem now is that he has retired and I will reluctantly may have to find a Doctor as good as him. I wish him all the best as he moves forward into his new field of helping others. He's dedicated and as far as I'm concerned, Dr. Mctammany is a Rock Star. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was my first ever visit with a male gyno and once talking to him I wasn't nervous anymore. He was very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable. He answered all of my question respectfully. I will be returning. Highly recommended!

Absolutely love Dr. McTammany. Bed side manor excellent. He has been so supportive and helpful through all my female issues . He has guided me and has gone above and beyond for his patients . Highly recommended!!!

I have been going to Dr. Mctammany for over 15 years now and I've never, ever felt uncomfortable or in any pain whatsoever. He is gentle and he is amusing while he does his thing. He's a great gentleman and an expert in his field.

I was in Dr. McTammany’s office recently and found out some upsetting news and The medical assistant T was very helpful and compassionate. She made me feel at ease and explained everything and answered all my questions. Of course, Dr. McTammany is awesome with the best bed side manner. Much appreciated!!!!!

He was a great OBGYN 17 years ago when I was pregnant with my youngest son. I was referred to him recently for an issue. I was so happy he was going to help me. I saw him in early December and then spoke to him about a week later. Everything seemed fine. I called the office on 12/16/2020 for the recurring issue I've been having. The phones kept being forwarded to an office in Merritt Island who had no idea what was going on. I drove to his office on my way to work to see if I could figure out what was going on. There was a letter on his door that he decided to stop practicing the day before. Now I'm stuck trying to find a new GYN which has been horrible. I'm so speechless that he could just stop practicing less than a week after I spoke to him and there was no notice whatsoever that was going to be happening. I wish they would have given me a heads up in early Dec. I would have tried to find a different GYN to work with from the start. Now I'm back to square one and still have no answers. I used to change my gynecologist almost every year because doctors do not listen to your concerns and just tell you that age is becoming a factor. Dr. McTammany listens to my concerns and with his help we found out that I had a very low functioning thyroid and hardened uterus. Dr. McTammany has been my GYN for years, and he is the absolute best!! I am extremely saddened about him not practicing anymore, and am wondering if anyone knows if he has a new office or will be opening a new office?? I am really nervous about having to find a new GYN as I have heard there aren't many good ones out there.

I’ve been seeing Dr. McTammany since my son was born 12 years ago. He’s extremely friendly and does everything he can to ensure patient’s comfort. I appreciate him and the office staff are very warm and friendly whenever I’m in there. Could not ask for a better doctor.

Dr. McTammany delivered my daughter via c-section in 2014! Him and his staff were amazing. He knew my wants and tried to make it happen unfortunately my body had other plans. He was very professional and empathetic about having to have a c-section.

I was pretty nervous, anxious, and uncomfortable when I scheduled my first appointment with Dr McTammany since I’ve never had an OBGYN and I needed a pelvic exam. I’ve seen a view reviews saying he makes “inappropriate comments.” I think they’re referring to the jokes he makes. For me, his personality and sense of humor made the whole appointment more comfortable for me. It made him seem more like a real person than just a doctor and made it easier to talk to him. None of the jokes he made to me came off as inappropriate at all. He was very funny and still very professional when it came down to the important things. He was very thorough and referred me to the specialist that I needed immediately when he realized the testing I needed was out of his scope of practice. Honestly the most laid back I've ever felt at a pap smear. I was super comfortable and his sense of humor took all the tension and awkwardness away from what was happening. I've been trying to find a OB/GYN to help me with pain I've been having for years and years, and he is the first Dr. that took the time, listened, didn't seem to rush through everything, and genuinely wanted to help me. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL, did not review my med records peoperly;had he done so he would have noted that I suffer from water retention due to heart and lung failure. Instead, he chose to berate me for poor diet and alcohol consumption for 20 minutes. When I attempted to explained to him I neighter practiced poor diet nor consumed alcohol, he ignored and cont to berate me.

I made an appointment with Dr.Mctammany because of how many positive reviews he has. If I could leave zero stars, I would. Dr.Mctammany is an unprofessional disgrace. I made an initial appointment to address some concerns, a regular Pap smear and to discuss getting Mirena for birth control. I explained ALL of this to the MA before my exam even began. To make a long story short- my exam was rushed through, Dr. Mctammany didn’t address ANY of my concerns and after he left the room I was extremely confused and upset, feeling as though I should have went literally anywhere else. After I left, I realized that I didn’t get a chance to discuss the main reason I made an appointment- Mirena. Walked back into the office and signed some paper work for insurance and was told I would be receiving a call regarding approval. Fast forward a few weeks. I finally received a call from a nurse about my test results. Turns out that they either LOST the sample or just didn’t even take it and they want me to come in for ANOTHER EXAM. Are you kidding me?! I will spare the rest of details of the horror story considering this is a public review but I’ve been going back and forth with them for nearly TWO MONTHS. Messages take DAYS to be returned, never heard back from them regarding Mirena and frankly I’d trust a hobo more than Dr.Mctammany to insert a medical device, anyhow! What a joke. I’ve never dealt with anyone in the medical field with his level of unprofessionalism. He asked me who my PCP was- when I told him the doctors name, he replied with “Oh, that guys a freak.” I can’t make this stuff up. I truly believe thinks he’s some sort of comedian and cares more about getting as many patients in and out the door rather than the quality of “care”. Saw Dr. Tammany for the first time yesterday and he was great! His nurse and his staff were also great and that is hard to find. After seeing a different doctor since 1982 I was so nervous and he made me feel comfortable right away. He has a great personality and bedside manner. I wish I could have him as a primary care physician because he absolutely was very impressive as a doctor.

Tests showing breast lesion sat on his desk (computer) for a very long time, even after I left messages asking for a response. One of his employees finally called-on a wrong number- + stated that I needed to come in because of the result of a test that was performed several weeks before-NOT giving the results of the most recent test from a week before, which they confirmed they had the day it was done. The doctor + staff are nonresponsive, confused, and not the one to go to when time is critical

I am a long time patient and have been very please with Dr. McTammany and his entire staff for thier excellent care and services for over 14 years. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

I am a new patient. I had to GPS the office, but my phone died en-route. I had to stop and ask for directions (the old fashioned way lol). This caused me to be 10 minutes late. When I arrived I expected to be turned away and asked to reschedule due to tardiness. Instead I was greeted with open arms and few explanations necessary by the office staff. I was called in to a room with very minimal waiting time in the lobby. Dr. Mc Tammany completed my exam with quickness and expertise. Dr. McTammany and his entire staff were professional, patient and kind. I was grateful for the follow up by his office as I was out of town and experiencing some complications. They truly cared about helping me resolve my short term health issues.

Dr. McTammany is an incredible doctor! I started going to him halfway through my pregnancy, and during my first appointment (about 6 almost 7 mos along) he was shocked I still didn't know the sex. He pulled out a little ultrasound machine and right there on the spot was able to tell me I was having a girl! Most importantly of all, I wanted to be as natural as possible especially during delivery, and he listened to me and was on board with my birth plan while still being flexible. He was honest, and caring, and even though I was getting very impatient toward the end, never made me feel like I was a crazy pregnant lady. (Even though I was!) He visited several times during my short labor, and even visited after I had my daughter. My entire experience was better than I could have dreamed and I am so thankful to have found him! I will make it a point to have him deliver any other children I have in the future! *I want to add, I moved to Miami for a job and continued to drive the few hours to have him as my doctor! Poor outcome after laparoscopic surgery. Pre surgical visit not mandated. His surgery center hastily discharged me. In fact I blacked out getting out of my car going home. Poor follow up from his surgery center. Had poor medical reasoning post hospitalization needed due to hematoma and cellulitis. Very disappointed in dr mc tammany,usually he is very good,but this time,i felt like I was wasting his time,cause i'm past baby making age,he did not send me for sonogram or a mammogram,still in pain,told me to see Internal medicine doctor,that is not type doctor you would see for my problem,instead we drove 80 miles to see him in a terrible storm,and I felt like I was not cared for.properly,will never go back to him an dwill tell everyone I know if you not baby making material,don't go to him?

Dr Mctammany has delivered both of my children. His office staff and Dr.McTammany himself are welcoming and knowledgeable. During delivery he is calm and patient and always attentive to the mother and baby's needs. A wonderful experience both times

Dr.McTammany is very good at what he does. He walks you through your procedure and makes sure you understand before he leaves the room. Dr. McTammany or his staff do NOT rush you out of the office, as if you're just another patient. He has been my doctor for the past 16yrs and I've traveled from oviedo to continue that professional relationship in the past. That's how good he is. The staff have a sense of humor and smile....thats also important to me. His head nurse is my favorite, Susan.??

I recommend him 100%! I'm so glad I switched from my midwives to him. He's laid back and knows what he's talking about. Doesn't make you feel rushed and explains things thoroughly. His staff is awesome too, super nice and you don't wait too long. I'm glad I found him for this pregnancy!
