This was my first visit to Emerge Orthopedics. The staff was courteous.and very helpful with all aspects of my care. Dr. Foster was exceptional ! He got to the heart of my health concerns quickly and decisively.He took time to listen, and examine…This should be SOP for health care professionals, but, sorry to say in todays reality, it’s the exception, not the rule…Dr. Foster took time to make a dx., while explaining his rationale for his conclusion. I would certainly recommend this clinic to my family and friends without hesitation. A very positive experience .

Dr.Foster takes the time to explain my brain injury son's care with him. This physician not only has great surgical skills, but also has wonderful social interactions with his patient

Had a nice visit withDoctor Foster, he looked at my x-rays and said I had no breakage in the bones. But I did have OsteoArthritis in my feet and ankles and to keep my appointment with my Arthritis doctor , and if I needed him to do a follow up with him. He was very nice and well educated about my condition and answered all my questions. He was real nice to me and I will refer him if I meet anyone that has feet problems.

It was an honor to meet Dr. Foster. His knowledge and professionalism explaining my choices made me feel very comfortable. Looking forward to being cared for by Dr. Foster knowing I am in good hands.

Dr. Foster is fantastic!! His bedside manner is spot on! He treated me like I was the only patient there and listened to everything that I had to say to get things taken care of for me. Dr. Foster has went above and beyond and I haven’t even had my procedure done yet but I am confident that I am in excellent hands!!

You as a patient are not going to get a better professional group of doctors, nurses and employees anywhere than Emerge health care. What makes this group special is they listen to you, explain things to you. They are nice, friendly and caring. Dr. Foster was amazing, it was a pleasure meeting him as a patient. Keep up the great work Dr Foster and everyone at Emerge.

Dr. Foster did a great job fixing my broken left ankle. He was very straight forward which shattered me when I found out the news but you are in good hands with Dr. Foster and EmmergeOrtho. I would love to see him again relatively soon to get my hardware out!

When Foster entered the room, he did not bother to tap on the door like most Dr.’s do to let you know they are coming in…….not a problem but had my back to door so didn’t even know he had walked in. After waiting well over an hour, he spent about 5 minutes and said to keep taking the ‘meds’ which is what he called Advil. He showed little concern for the pain I am experiencing. Waste of my time.

Well, i told the dr. When we first met that he scared me more than combat. But he was very informative, understood my issues and seemed to have a plan. He needs more information, but if surgery is needed I feel more comfortable with him as my surgeon. Like I explained to Dr. Foster being on meds for ever is not for me. Dr.Foster, is the best very concerned about his patients he listen to what you have to say and then give his opinion and ask how do you feel about what he come up with I would recommend him to anyone that have problems with their back . He is the best !!!!

Horrible physician...I had an injury and was assigned to him through workers comp. I had a compression fracture of L-2 and other complications. I did not see him for 7 weeks. When I did his bedside manner is nonexistent I had to continue with him due to workers comp 8 months. I wouldn't wish him on anyone and am shocked at the favorable reviews on here. I thankfully, was able to get a second opinion from a neurosurgeon and continued as a patient with the new Dr. who did surgery. Don't go to him.....these positive reviews are suspicious!! He was running behind on a busy Friday morning, 1 hour to be precise ok but to wait that long to see for over 2 years of back pain to tell me I needed to walk more and read a book about my back. Obviously, I'm sure everyone wants opiates, and I completely understand the reluctance to prescribe them. But I can definitely say my pain level is much higher than the tramadol will relieve. I was literally in tears, crying out loud this morning, and had nothing to help. 5 days worth of anything stronger would have been terrific. After all I did break my back. Pain level of a steady 7. Other than that my visit was about as I would expect from a professional. Good attitude. Straight shooter. Thoroughly described what happened, and what was wrong. The most amazingly well trained, empathetic, gentle orthopedic surgeon! As an Anesthesiologist I can tell you , this is a rarity. So thorough and practical , I would highly recommend him. We are lucky to have one of the few orthopedic foot specialists in Wilmington.

Had my consult with PA Susan Sobel first, very attentive and explained every option I had in detail. Listened to my concerns and answered questions. Then I had my consult with Dr. Foster for my surgery. Dr. Foster explained everything again, answered more questions I had and was very friendly and honest. The front desk staff was very kind and pleasant to speak with. My surgery went very well, Dr Foster made sure my dad knew of everything as I came out of surgery and in recovery. Recovery is getting better each day. Five stars for this team as I had a great experience. Thank you to the whole team for being wonderful during my time of pain. Dr. Foster reviewed my records, xray, hip replacement and present back pain issues He reviewed the xray with me pointing out the areas of concern, explaining the MRI that was scheduled in a few days would clarify and define these problems more specifically enabling us to determine the next steps. Wrote medical issue terminology for me so I had proper information to review these problems on google. Very professional and caring. I was also impressed by the PA who was asssisting. Will follow up with results of diagnosis and treatment. I expect these to be positive reviews. Dr. Foster was very caring. He helped my leg, I was in a lot of pain. I would definitely recommend Dr. Foster and the staff.

I want to thank God and Dr. Foster for helping me with my surgery. My back and leg was hurting so bad. I feel so much better since I had my surgery a week ago. His team was real good to me during everything.

I was very impressed with Dr. Foster. While talking to him I felt he carefully and fully listened to my concerns. He took his time to look over my medical records I brought with me and examined and explained to me his opinion of my ailment. He was personable and easy to talk to.

Dr. Foster was very arrogant. He did not listen and was not compassionate at all. I had a fractured ankle and torn ligament. He sent me to PT and gave me a cane. He told me I’d be better in 6 months I was not. I decided to get a second opinion and I’m glad I did. I went to a podiatry surgeon and he fixed the problem. I am now walking without a cane and my ankle is getting stronger everyday. I would not recommend Dr. Foster

I have never had a doctor take the time to explain my condition in such detail and then ask me what results am I expecting. Great experience

Dr Foster saw my husband a few years ago. Hubby has been in pain management, but we suspected something else was going on with his spine and his hips. Sent all of the paperwork to his office. We were told "Doctor will review paperwork and call you." Never happened.

My father went in for lumbar spine surgery in 2019. Mark Foster was my father's surgeon. Shortly after my dad's spine was severely infected. He couldn't feel his feet for months so after the infection healed he went back in to remove some splintered bone that prevented him to feel his feet. Later on he experienced an epideral assess. Dr. Foster claimed there was nothing wrong with him when if fact NHMH strongly disagreed so they continued with a biopsy of his bone marrow. My dad suffered more pain in a year and a half than he could bare. The strongest man I ever knew died from this man's care and I'm trying to find it in my heart to forgive him for medical malpractice hence is why I am letting the community know about the ignorance and unkind treatment my father received from him. He is not a nice nor compassionate person. Please do your research further than Google before you proceeed.This could be you or your loved one. Dr. Mark Foster operated on my lumbar region last August (2020) with wonderful success. This recent check-up was at my request to determine if a further procedure might be necessary. Staff was great and polite, got me right in, but i spent $60 co-pay plus whatever bill i am going to get for the doctor to have me bend around and then tell me his honest opinion is I need yoga bevause my body was to right. The E.R. doctor I went to a few weeks ago even suggested I would probably need surgery because there was so much wrong with my lumbar due to the CT scan he had done then. This doctor said he seen nothing wrong woth my CT scan that would put me in the 1st of 2 catagories he puts people. 1st being you absolutely need surgery 2nd being its nothing to fix and you just have to deal witht he pain the rest of your life After explaining to him I am tired of dealing with this pain for now 15 years off and on, he suggested physical therapy. No shots, no surgery, no pain management, just yoga or PT. Is he this way with everyone, I dont know, but I will personally never go to him again. And i had quite a few people recommend him as the greatest in NH/BC counties. As a mother panicking rushing to the er holding my sons arm in place best I could, he was there every step from relocating his elbow to follow ups with cast issues. He was very patient and explained everything on a 10 yr old level to my son. I really had no complaints at all until I met Tara at the Leland office and despite the nasty attitude and lack of her efforts I would still recommend, just recommend not asking for her. We sat 45 mins took me walking around to the lady af check out to get update, and then Tara reluctantly got off her chair rolled her eyes and went checked, came back and said " it's an hour and half wait from appointment time you wanna reschedule or what?" I’m writing this review on behalf of my husband. He has been a patient of Dr. Foster for a number of years. My husband Dan was diagnosed 10 years ago with problems with his L4 and L5 vertebrae. Dr. Foster managed his case for a few years within any surgical intervention. Last year Dan began experiencing pain in his buttocks area and back of his thighs. Dr. Foster recommended a spinal fusion procedure. His survey was very successful. Although he experienced discomfort from the surgery, his pain was finally gone. Dr. Foster is assisted by a Nurse Practitioner Sue Soebel who is excellent. They make a great team. EmergeOrtho is the only medical practice we would recommend.
