Dr. Mark Steven Eskenazi

WARNING. I was referred to this dr. I called and was asked for my insurance information so that they could check my coverage. The office called back after 2 days to say that he takes my insurance. I waited patiently a month for the appt to see him and in alot of pain. As I am about to go the appt in 2 days, for some reason I double checked with my Florida Blue insurance. Florida Blue told me he does NOT TAKE IN-NETWORK OR OUT-OF-NETWORK arrangements, despite what the office told me. So what coverage do they accept?? So in other words I would have been responsible for thousands of dollars. This is misrepresentation and DISGUSTING. He may be a great dr- I don't know- but this situation is outrageous. In order to post this, I needed to fill in a star- so I did 1- otherwise, it should be 0. Beware and double check!!!!!!!

Super competent doctor with good recommendation on how to repair my spinal stenosis.

I went to Dr. Eskenazi at the recommendation of a friend who had surgery by him. No surgery needed for me but he did get me better with some injections. Much appreciated

My MIL had a Laminectomy surgery with Dr. Eskenazi. She was basically wheel chair bound prior to surgery and in excruciating pain regardless of what she did. She’s 7 months post-op and she’s walking (with a cane more for balance because it gives her security - but would prob be fine without it) and most importantly she has NO pain! I couldn’t be any happier with the outcome. Thank you Dr. Eskenazi and team for the amazing service! Now I embark this journey with my own mother, who is not wheelchair bound, but in excruciating pain and can’t stand/walk more than a couple minutes at a time. Superb surgeon

The attention to patients in this office is horrible had an appointment with dr eskenazi wow i had such terrible pain they where very none caring and did even took my blood pressure i tried to explain how bad my pain was and yet he was acting as if i was perfectly fine. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Dr. Eskenazi is a wonderful orthopedic surgeon and fixed my compound fracture on my right arm a long time ago. I recently referred him over to someone and they are so happy! He's a very Good Doctor and will take the time with you.

Dr. Eskenazi is the finest doctor I’ve ever known. He’s so busy and is doing so much. Yet he takes the time with you and really helps you understand what’s going on and best treatments. Dr. Eskanazi did surgery on my Cervical Spine. His talent and skill are exceptional. He has a gentle and kind office manner. He does not rush you and he makes sure he answers all your questions. Dr. Ezkenazi operated on my back, did spinal fusion, very knowledgable, lucky to have him as my orthopedic physician.

I was unhappy with my experience with Dr. Eskenazi. He appeared to use an MRI from 2013 as a basis for my exam. He did not suggest having a current MRI. He told me to see a pain management doctor. I felt he was disinterested in my back problems. I sent him a letter asking if a current MRI would be beneficial, and requested a response. I never received one.

the WORST ~~~ . I had a horrific accident and he just kept saying it was my age. Needless to say, went to an 'expert' & I was told need surgery....my vertebrae was 5mm out one way and 9mm out the other!!! Ashkeknazi totally MISDIAGNOSED the situation. I ended up with a collapsed back. Thank GOD, I found a REAL DR.

Had lumbar fusion last week and was up on my feet later that same day. Amazing results. Could not in any way be more pleased. Suffered for years and in one week after surgery I already have less pain. Very professional office and came out of surgery without nausua

Dr. Eskenszi is a superb physician with great surgical skills. He saved my life with an emergency C1-C2 fusion procedure.I trusted my life to his skill and judgment. I would do it again in a heartbeat. In fact if I needed spine surgery again, I would fly from wherever I was living to have him do the procedure.

Went on referral from PCP for back pain. Recommended MRI..test done..follow up was schduled for day of storm..had to wait another 2 1/2 weeks. After almost 1 1/2 hours, he came in and the first question was "are you all better?" He looked at a little of the MRI and said that there was no stenosis. Basically blew me off because there wasn't anything surgical. Said the symptoms were mostly claudication. I know they aren't. Gave me a prescription for pain and a muscle relaxer. I am not a doctor-hopping, drug-seeking work comp or accident patient. I have been an RN for more that 40 years and worked with back pain and spinal patients. What substandard care! Both my wife and I had surgery with the doctor last year. I had an operation on my neck and my wife on her lumbar. Both of us couldn’t be happier ! God bless this great doctor.

I had a bad back with pain and tingling and numbness down my knees to my toes. Unfortunately I am 84 years young. I also had an episode of guillaine barre syndrome one year ago. My cat scan and mri seems to be indicated spinal stenosis at l2-l3 which could be the cause of the pain. Dr was so thought full that he insisted that I go and get a second opinion and a EMG. Which might tell weither is he to spinal stenosis ( which is treated with surgery) or due to the demyelination Any other surgeon. Dr. Eskenazi did my lumbar surgery on February 2011. He used the drug Infuse which is supposed to build bone. This was to replace using a cadaver bone. The infuse kept growing into my spinal column. I am still in pain and and I’m still going to pain management. When asked if he could do anything for me He said he could try more surgery and shave it off and it might work. I certainly wouldn’t go with anything that might work. I went to a doctor in Miami who is one of the top surgeons he said he would never use in fuse, it was the worst thing to use, and Dr. Eskenazi also put the wrong cage in my back. Infuse was taken off the market two years later

I wish we could give 10 stars. My wife sufffered for 4 months with progressively increasing back pain. Three times having to go to ER. After trying all other non surgical procedures & treatments, it was inevitabe that surgeery was the only solution. We spoke with highly respected Boca surgeon who without even speaking to us first, based on MRI, said she needed Spinal Fusion. Someone recommended Dr Eskenazi. He saw my wife late Friday in the hospital. He saw how much discomfort she was in. He explained everything to us, answered all our questions. Said a lamidectomy and micro dischotemy to clean out bone spurs, arthritis and move the hereniated disc off the nerve would alleviate her problem, not the more evasive Fusion. He tried to schedule an immediate surgery following morning (Saturday) but OR had no availability. He saw my wife's condition, and he told us to be ready Sunday morning at 6:30. He arranged it and she was the only surgery that morning. He went out of his way to help.

Dr. Eskenazi performed a fusion surgery called a “lateral fusion” 9 months ago on me. I’ve had a superb recovery and am happy we finally went ahead with surgery.

Dr. Eskenazi performed an operation which had left my husband in excruciating back pain and permanent nerve damage. A much more competent surgeon had to perform an operation which repaird back.

Wonderful experience (if you can describe surgery as wonderful). Thankfully I did well after neck surgery. Not s fan of the neck collar but was definitely worth it to have my life back.

Never again... rude staff, overbooked, impatient doctor.

Had an MRI STAT 2 days ago and despite several calls to the office, still don’t have the results. Yesterday I was told dr was in with a patient and would call back yet today I was told he wasn’t in the office yesterday...total disrespect for patient

Staff: wow! You’d think the doctor would want more professional people representing his office. The office manager sets the tone for the staff. She refuses to return calls, and is rude when you finally get her on the phone. It’s ridiculous to be treated so poorly.

Wait time is ridiculous.!!!!, forever to even check out and leave.!!, not again , we have a choice, plenty of Dr’s in South Florida.!

I only needs his signature for a job, he's too busy, visited at 9am then called 4 times to ask if they had faxed signature office girl hung up on me!

This doctor did a spinal cement surgery for my mother. He never came out to speak to the family afterwards in the waiting room. He left us sitting there waiting and went home. He also had zero explanation for why her one foot was now inwards post surgery. He's NOT what I would call a decent orthopaedic surgeon at all.

Out of every doctor's office I've visited or even worked for - this is by far the worst. The staff is unimaginably rude and displeasing. When I call the office I pray Tensy doesn't answer or I know not only will I not be helped but my day will be drastically affected by the lack of assistance and the absolute rude sarcasm that I have experienced on several occasions. I filed a formal complaint to the office manager Jennifer and requested Dr. Eskenazi be made aware but Jennifer is equally as unhelpful. I requested to speak to my physician (Dr. Eskenazi) on several different occasions. Not once did he call back, but instead my appointment that I waited over a moth for was cancelled by Jennifer and I was told he passed along the message for me to reschedule. My pain level was incredibly high. I expressed this to the office staff several times but they did absolutely nothing to help or accommodate me. Very very disappointing. First question is likelihood of recommending Dr. Eskenazi to family and friends. I would not recommend this doctors office to my family or my friends. The staff is rude incapable uneducated. Calling to make appointments is a nightmare God forbid you’re calling to ask the doctor a question or have an emergency, the staff just simply doesn’t care.. they are the least compassionate people I’ve ever dealt with.

Had 3 cervical fusions done 5 years ago and feel like a million dollars thanks to Mark and his amazing staff.

Trying to be a new patient with the doctor is not good I have blue cross blue shield and next aetna and that is my secondary in a senior development like i live in, I find it hard to believe that your office does not accept either one. I could be your patient but now I cant. This is just my feelings

People in South Florida have zero patience. They all want to get in to see any doc in 5 minutes. Great docs take time with their patients..so relax and read a book. I read some of the reviews on Dr. Eskanazi and had to respond. This is a very busy office so you might have to wait. Bottom line here, the best spinal surgeon in south Florida and beyond. My husband went through a discectomy and spinal fusion with Dr Eskanazi, (9/2016) he was the third and final opinion that we got. This doctor is not only talented but is a real human being. His care, concern, honesty, humor and professionalism is second to none. If you are lucky enough to find a great doctor you usually have to deal with a sub-par staff, not this one. The staff is professional and considerate at every level. From our first appointment to our post surgical appointments this office was amazing. In December I also had the exact procedure with one additional level. This is a very serious surgery, one that could have very serious complications if not done correctly or by the right person. There is no one else I would have trusted but Dr Eskanazi. This was an emergency surgery, so it could have been overwhelming. Dr Eskanazi and his staff, especially Sue, could not have made it easier. I had a follow up with Dan today, Dr. Eskanazi's PA. Dan is both personable and professional, he answered all of our questions and gave us all the time we needed. Dr. Eskenazi operated on my cervical spine 11 years ago. The results are still terrific! If he's late to appointments it's because he isn't giving the bum's rush to the patients before you. Great doctor, great staff (Dan, Susan).

Sent to him for evaluation of back and hip pain after falling. My pain that had started in my hip became progressively worse affecting my back and radiating down my left leg. I also have neuropathy changes and significant weakness in my left leg. Although annoying, the long wait is well worth the evaluation I received. A complete subjective and objective assessment that included my many questions. Looking forward to some answers on my next visit.

Don't ever plan on him being on time. Each visit is at least an hour past the appointment time. Longest I have waited is 90 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous.

Dr was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He explained what I was to expect and what recovery I could expect without surgery. He took his time and explained all my questions to me in detail. I am extremely happy with my outcome.

Dr. Eskenazi is fantastic. He spends the time to explain what is wrong and what the options are. His bedside manner is excellent, and he is extremely professional. Susan in his office is wonderful as well. I would highly recommend them to everyone who has back pain.
