Dr. Mark Gerard Doherty

Dr. Doherty performed my hysterectomy due to uterine cancer, which went well. Unfortunately, he failed to give me correct information about alternative treatments that could've preserved my sexual organs as well as full consequences of such a major procedure. I was devastated to know that there was a chance to avoid the surgery. He maybe a good doctor for an older woman, but I would not recommend him for younger patients who still want to enjoy life in all of its aspects.

Dr. Doherty is probably a good surgeon but in a recent laparoscopic hysterectomy, when the uterus was larger than expected, he ran into trouble. That can happen but it took 10 days, two visits and three calls before he realized there was a serious complication. He then referred me to a very good urologist but two months later I am still having serious urological problems due to a damaged ureter. My problem was his delay in recognizing and acting on the problem
