Dr. Block is so detail oriented that he, literally, saved my life, and I am forever grateful. He is kind, understanding, a wonderful surgeon and a great professional. His nurse Catherine couldn’t be any better with her professionalism, gentleness and willingness to help. I also had the pleasure of being cared for by Dr. Tarrazzi and Dr. Razi who are wonderful and caring professionals. Their assistant Jan is simply the best. She is prompt, straight forward and she never let me down. Thank you and your staff for just being who you are, and for being there when I needed you the most. Took me a while to write this review on Dr. Block. I went to see him a couple of months again in regards to a nodule on my right lower lung. I brought all my test and images to him. In my appointment with my husband and my sister was on speaker phone (since she’s a nurse) so in case we missed anything she would pick it up. He seemed like he didn’t care at all in regards to this nodule, which I myself was very nervous about. He thought it was nonchalant nodule and nothing to be worried about. I was scheduled to have a test done to see if it was cancer or not and a day before my procedure he canceled suggesting we wait a couple more months. My family discussed it and we thought we should get a second opinion, thank god I did. I got my second opinion and had surgery in July and my test results came back being stage one lung cancer, it was almost at a stage two. So needless to say I would never or refer anyone to Dr Block, if I waited like he wanted me too it could have turned out a lot worse then it was. So in my opinion please always trust your gut and get a second opinion cause there are doctors who take there patients concern seriously. Took me a while to write this review on Dr. Block. I'am almost 3 yrs late! it was a pleasure being a patient of Dr. Block he is a amazing Dr. He knows his stuff!! The staff is amazing too thanks Dr. Block..

Dr Block explained everything that needed to be done with my thoracic condition. He was very caring and assured me that I will get better with my swallowing condition. I would highly recommend him.

I was so comfortable with Dr Block, he put me at ease and explained everything to me So clearly,and gave me my options so I understood everything. I feel. I am in very good hands with Dr Block.

Saved my life! An incredible team that I'll be indebted to forever!!

Without a doubt the best Dr I have ever encountered. He performed lung surgery on me and had me out of the hospital in just a few days. I am cancer free after 2 years. He has been very thorough And consistent from the time I met him until my most recent visit a couple of weeks ago. I might add that his staff is also very professional and courteous.

Dr.Block was very knowledgeable, professional, responsible and nice. I went twice to the ER before he saw me. I had surgery the next day. Really good Dr. and staff.

Very disappointed with Dr. Block! His staff were wonderful, but he was not at ALL... it is impossible that I’m the only one that feels this way and he receives so many high ratings. He left me in the room for 2 hours and then was with me for a total of 5 minutes and then said sorry, nonchalantly like I waited for 15 min. On top of it all, he didn’t explain one thing on my CT Scan of my neck. His bedside manner was absolutely terrible and had no concern for me as a patient. I can’t believe he is the chief Thoracic Sergeant of Memorial. That is terrible.

I am still upset that I allowed Dr Mark Block to operate on my mother. May She rest in peace. I would give him-1 out of 5 stars

Great office and staff! I twisted my ankle, called the office and got an appointment right the way with Dr Block. He is an amazing professional. The staff was very friendly and they followed up with my appointments. I highly recommend them.

There are no words to express our gratitude and thanks to Dr. Block . We have celebrated two extra birthdays with our father whom two years ago he was the only doctor to even consider operating on him due to his condition. His confidence gave dad and us all hope . He looked at us after surgery and said it went better than it could’ve hoped for and dad will be OK. Although you would think would be expected from the Yale graduate top notch surgeon. But his care after and constant checking up and following up and never refusing a question and always there providing answers has made a huge difference in the way I look at the medical field. He is not only a great doctor but he is a great human being and will always and forever be grateful to him.And to be 100% fair and honest his team of nurses at Memorial regional were outstanding. They really were like angels over his head day and night . No way to ever repay all of them back but wish them all . Wish them all the health and happiness in the world for all they do . Dr. Block saved my mother’s life 10 years ago this month! It was a very unique situation and Dr. Block went above and beyond for her and she made a full recovery. We returned to Dr. Block’s office last month for an unrelated issue. He remembered my mom and I after not seeing us for 5 years. While I’m hoping we don’t need his expertise, I know we will be with the best surgeon possible if he is needed at this time.

The office girls are always very helpful. The nurse takes time to answer lots of questions when you call - and I've never felt rushed by her.

Dr. Block is a superb doctor who really cares about the wellness of his patients. It is a very scary situation to have cancer, however Dr. Block put my mind at ease by taking his time to explain the plan of action of what needs to be done. After my operation at Memorial Cancer Center Dr. Block came to my room and pulled up a chair and had a list of questions about how I feel, he also answered an entire list of questions that I had. I'm so glad to be a permanent patient of Dr. Block and staff.

Dr. Block removed a tumor in my chest last June 2015. I was scared beyond words to have this surgery and the uncertainty of a tumor in that location. Dr Block brought me through the surgery with flying colors and I was able to come home in two days. My tumor was a benign thymoma. I cant thank Dr. Block enough for the awesome care he gave me during this trauma in my life. Thank You Dr. Block and God Bless. If you use Dr Block rest assured you are in good hands.

Dr. Block is a real mensch. He has unlimited patience and answers all questions and concerns. He is open to any other inquiries and willing to assist.
