To place signs of this nature in a public space is both obnoxious and ridiculous. As a Dermatologist it’s all about appearances and if this lawn that you feel needs to be protected from the public is reflective of your practice, good luck. Who places private property signs on a front yard ! This is so absurd and crazy ! GUILTY of INSURANCE FRAUD. I have been going to this DR. since 2005. I was always charged a $45 copay (Aetna). After reviewing my Aetna statement after my last visit in 2021, I realized my copay was only $25 for each visit. When I called the accounts payable department in the office, she actually ADMITTED that Dr. Bernhardt has been fighting Aetna for years over his designation as a PCP, NOT a SPECIALIST. She went back in forth with me saying he was a specialist, etc. etc. She knowingly overcharged me every time I went into the office. I requested that I be reimbursed the overcharge for all of my visits beginning in 2005. She informed me that she does not have any records before 2017. I was issued a $70 credit, as if I want to visit this office again. Off went a letter to the Regulatory Specialist III Division of Consumer Services Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Guess what appeared in the mail - a check for $340. A total of 17 visits, dating back to 2005 - YES from 2005. Hmm, I guess it takes the GOVERNMENT to get involved before they do the right thing!!! I sure hope this woman is no longer working there. She knowing committed INSURANCE FRAUD. So tell me, why would you support a business that commits FRAUD??? Also, Bernhardt is not all that. He had been treating red spots (sun damage) on my forehead for years with a topical creme. They never went away. Finally in 2021, I asked him to freeze them. Voila, they disappeared. Really!!! Super professional and very nice! I left there feeling confident and well taken care of! Thank you! And while you wait he has a lot of very cool metal art in the waiting room. The office staff made me feel welcome and were very friendly!

Dr. Bernhardt was the most delight, knowledgable and greatest diagnostic I've had the pleasure of meeting. His staff was incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond getting my prescriptions authorized. His warm demeanor will keep me coming back - it's truly rare to find a caregiver and staff that are so invested their patients

Terrible experience

My back was itch, so I found him through my insurance company website and took a look the Google reviews. I decided to visit the doctor MB with over 40-year experience. Each visit, he spent a few minutes only. The first time he injected ... (something I don't know) me to treat the itch. Meanwhile, I told him "my left leg has a few red spots". He said it is OK and gave a cream; but the red spots continued spreading on my left leg. Then I visited again. MB said “I give you a cream much stronger”. Unfortunately, it was getting much worse. After two weeks, my left leg was swell; I even hardly walked and couldn't wear shoes. Finally I visited a young dermatologist in Hollywood. My left leg is OK now, although still has scratches. Fantastic Doctor - very positive experiance

I have been going to this doctor since I was a teenager with acne. He has helped me with every skin problem that you can think of. He is the best.

Dr.Bernhardt is the best.Has kept me healthy and removed skin cancer growths during the beginning of the Covid pandemic.He did not close for his own safety but stayed open to take care of his patients.A true old style doctor with old time values.

Dr. Bernhardt seems ok. His staff is an embarrassment and is representative of all that is wrong in the medical world. They are uncaring, unfeeling, do the minimum amount of work necessary and for the first time in my life, I was HUNG UP on by a staff member. Hypocratic oath says "DO NO HARM". Avoid this place like the plague.

His staff is pathetic, non-feeling and completely lacking empathy, professionalism and compassion. Fire them all.

Great! He took me in on time, listened to my concerns and treated them accordingly. Will definitely go back to see him again !

PATIENTS BEWARE! I called on behalf of a patient since I work in a pharmacy. When I first called here I thought this wasn't even a real doctors office because as soon as I stated the pharmacy where I work I was greeted with "sorry not interested". First and foremost a fax number is not listed on their website where I could fax over a refill request on behalf of a patient in common. The second time I called I asked why would they have hung up on me without letting me state my purpose which was for either a refill authorization over the phone or a fax number. The receptionist answered in such a rude manner " we don't do refills over the phone you have to fax it to us and then said she was hanging up as she hung up the phone. I called yet again and my interaction with this character only got worse as she recited the fax number very hasty and then hung up. I called another time because in all honestly we care and value our patients so I understand the urgency to get this document through to the doctors office. When I called because I could not understand the last four digits of the fax number this receptions briefly said the last four and repeated "I'm hanging up now!" . Whoever is the receptionist answering the phone should be let go indefinitely what a terrible interaction with this office I will definitely be letting this patient know to go elsewhere where they value his service and our for the patient. I have had very positive experiences in this office from the minute I walk in. The staff and the doctor are wonderful! I highly disagree with any of the nasty reviews I saw from some disgruntled people. Most likely, they are unhappy with everything in their life.

very smart & caring--nice personality too, as has his wonderful wife, who is the office manager. Not the typical "botox"-cosmetics- pushing dermatologist, who is strictly in it for the money, but rather a "medical" professional, who is nice to deal with.

Dr B is the best. I had a planters wart on my foot for fifty years and tried many times to have it removed. Dr Mark got rid of it for me and now I have pain free running. It's gone and he is the best ,! Runs on time and has a great staff. Love the guy !

This doctor should NOT be practicing medicine!!! Went to see him since he is close to my work for a painful bump on my head. The doctor told me it's a hair follicle infection and that with strong antibiotics it should go away in 48 hours. Well 48 hours later I was in so much pain and the bump grew 2 times the size. Went to see another doctor and was very quickly diagnosed the right way this time and felt better almost instantly, not a hair follicle infection at all! To make matters worse I developed a severe complication from the antibiotics. I called the office right away to speak to the doctor and was ignored for 2 days, still waiting for a call back. Oh they also make you pay all your co-pays and deductibles in cash probably to avoid people from stopping payments after bad diagnosis. Big fan of Dr. Bernhardt. Been going to him for years. Very dry sense of humor, extremely intelligent, always available, trustworthy and always on time. Would be 5 stars but I was a little disappointed with the last visit. My son had something on the inside of his fingernail that looked like a small wart so I took him in to get it looked at. Dr. Bernhardt said it was a cut and "trauma to the nail" that would go away in a few weeks. After a few weeks, it had not only gotten worse, but became the size of small pea. We took him to another Doctor to get a 2nd opinion and they immediately recognized it as a planters wart. Dr. Bernhardt is as good as they get but it never hurts to get a 2nd opinion if something doesn't seem right! I do know he saved a friend's life by diagnosing him with a Melanoma after my friend had been to 2 different Dermatologists. Big fan of Dr. Bernhardt. Been going to him for years. Wow Dr. Bernhardt, thank you, thank you a million. In less than a week my "dish hand" condition was gone, it's been over a year and my hand has never looked so good.

I love Dr Bernhardt!! He is the absolute best doctor around. He explains everything so you understand what is going on. Mrs Bernhardt goes out of her way to explain insurance and Medicare. Won’t go anywhere else. Refer friends and neighbors all the time

On 1/30/19, I visited Dr Bernhardt's office and received excellent service and advice from him. However, on the other hand, his receptionist was very rude and really infuriated me. She insulted me in regards to my denomination of my payment method for services received. After reading my remark, I hope that his receptionist learns to always be mindful of what she says to others. Love this place, love this man. The office is very vintage and rustic, really cool. There's so much to look at on the walls IF you somehow do have to wait, its really not bad at all. Brief, flippant and arrogant! Does not spend time answering questions, interrupts before completing a train of thought. He is a clever man but he is not a compassionate or empathetic doctor. His examination is cursory and is a know it all.

Inattentive dermatologist with a poorly run office. I went to him for an annual exam because it was so close to my work. I was dissatisfied and will do my diligence to find a reputable doctor instead of focusing on the location.

BEWARE. I went to Dr. Bernhardt several times for a suspicious sore on my face. He froze it off twice and told me not to worry about it. Twice it came back, was sore and bled. The doctor gets you from the waiting room, so there is no endless waiting once you are called back into the patient room. Dr. Bernhardt is direct and to the point. this office is well run and appointments run on time. Staff is courteous and able. Dr. Bernhardt is competent, personable and friendly. He has always ably solved whatever problem I present and answered my questions. This is the best dermatologist and best run medical office I ever visited.

Dr. Bernhardt is a fantastic doctor. I've been to a few other dermatologists in Broward County and none compare to Dr. Bernhardt. He is incredibly smart and a wizard at diagnosing my condition. Beyond being such a great doctor, I never have to wait, his front desk is always so accommodating, and he is a pleasure to talk to whenever we meet. Highly recommend Dr. Bernhardt to anyone in need of a skin doctor

5 stars for Dr. B He's the perfect doctor. Hardly ever wait, great conversation, beautiful office, and most importantly I know he'll always fix my issues. I had dermatologists that couldn't figure out what was wrong with me when I came for check-ups. Dr. Bernhardt is different. He is like the Sherlock Holmes of skin. I never have an idea what's wrong with me when I go to him, but a week later I'm back to normal. If you're looking for a doctor in Ft. Lauderdale, definitely check him out

I have been seeing Dr. Bernhardt for twenty years. Of all the doctors I have had in my life, Dr. Bernhardt stands out for his intelligence, compassion, and genuineness. All my friends tell me how their dermatologists are sleezy salesmen who misdiagnose their conditions. I always refer them to Dr. Bernhardt. He's an old school doctor who is focused on the medical conditions. He will 100% get you better. I expect nothing less from someone who trained at both Yale and Harvard. A PLUS PLUS!

Dr. Bernhardt SAVED MY LIFE. I noticed a mole that my other dermatologist told me was nothing and Dr. Bernhardt thought otherwise. It turned out to be a melanoma! Thank god for Dr. B. The guy is so much smarter than my last derm and all of the other doctors I've been to. He trained at Yale and Harvard and lectures others derms. He's like a jedi dermatologist. Came in very concerned about a spot on my nose that other dermatologists had ignored. Dr. Bernhardt correctly diagnosed it as a basal cell and saved my life in my opinion. I will never go to another dermatologist. Going to him is a treat. He runs an efficient office - I hardly have to wait. Plus his office is super cool. I also find him to be super genuine. He just cares about his patients not selling them unnecessary expensive treatments. GREAT DOCTOR!

Dr. Bernhardt is my favorite doctor. Seeing him is always a treat. I never wait and he diagnoses my condition efficiently. He's been practicing so long and trained at Yale and Harvard - I know that I am in great hands when I see him. He's diagnosed several melanomas over the years and has literally saved my life. Dr. Bernhardt is so nice and a fantastic doctor! I had a condition that several doctors could not figure out and I finally was recommended by a friend to visit Dr. B. He had a completely different diagnosis than my other doctors and my condition was fixed within the week. I have finally found my dermatologist!

Dr. B is the man. I've been going to him since I was a kid and had terrible acne. Dr. B helped fix my acne and even though I moved away from Ft. Lauderdale I still make the trip up to see him today. His office is super cool - it's like a museum. Our conversations are always a blast. And most importantly he fixes my problems and I never have to wait

I have been going to dr bernhardt for 20+ years and have always been totally satisfied with his care He takes the time to explain whats going on and always makes me feel that i am part of The Team Plus his office staff always accomodates my crazy schedule!

Dr. Bernhardt is fantastic. His knowledge of dermatology is superb. He's not like other dermatologists that I have been to who are focused on cosmetics and selling some expensive surgery. Dr. Bernhardt is only focused on his patients health, diagnosing their condition, and getting them better. They don't make doctors like this anymore. SIX STARS!!!

I would never recommend this guy. He totally missed a melanoma on my face. Thank heavens I trusted my gut and sought a second opinion. I needed immediate surgery. I'm now praying the results of my biopsy are ok. Avoid him like the plague.

I went to this office in 2007 with comment pimples issues . Those pimples that come before your period. The doctor prescribed me a very strong antibiotic 500mml 2 times a days after 2 weeks the pimples went away. And so I stop taking the antibiotics. 4 days later I had double of theme. I called the office and schedule an appointed. When I saw him ,he told me to not stop the treatmen . He said that I needed to take the pills for one year. Iike an idiot I listen to him. My skin got clean but I stared to get extrimilly sick. I had horrible stomach pain. I end up to the hospital. With chest pain and Irregular heartbeat . They kept me for 3 days they thought that i had a stoke. The doctor count figure out what happenes to me. I got an engoscopy and a colonoscopy done . Result I got a severe gastities . The doctor couldn't tell me why. It took me 2 year of research on my own and nigth after night with IV in the hospital. To reach the conclusion that the antibiotic diastoyed the flora of my low intestin . The damage of the antibiotic Where irreversible. No only he distroyed my intestine but he distroyed my social and personal life. I needed to stop working for a long time and rest . I losted 25 pounds I couldn't workout I could travel for 5 years my life was a nightmare every night I pay God to don't take my soul. I divolpe food intolerance I got dots in my vision rings in my ears titanos. Over grow yest. I do not wish that to my worse enemy.. It's 3 years now that I found a little peace but I need to be very carful if I mess up my diet I get extremely sick like tonight. I have chest pain and I don't feel well. Because I had chicken for lunch and my body can not tolerated. Everything must to be watched on what I eat and my workout. The ammont of stress . I Never smoke drink or did any drugs . Very active and I love workout .Love life. But now because of this doctor I need to becaruful .I need to sleep with special pillows. Dr. Bernhardt is a funny guy, but his jokes don't make up for his utter lack of focus on his patients' needs. I have been seeing Dr. Bernhardt for roughly three years but no longer. I have seen him for two issues - one cosmetic and one health - he has not improved either. He spends very little time listening to his patients and very little time thinking about the best solution for the problem. He'd rather you be impressed by his quick thinking than leave with a solution that will work.

Dr. Bernhardt is extremely unethical. I was referenced to a plastic surgeon for an in-office procedure. I am still waiting for confirmation that all of the in-situ melanoma has been removed. I certainly hope it has with the 4 inch scar i now have on my shoulder, and debt of over $2,000.00 in hospital bills.

As a result of Dr. Bernhardt's simultaneous thorough, expert quarterly examinations and calm, jovial demeanor, I successfully and confidently addressed several types of skin cancer over the past two decades. I never doubt him, and I genuinely appreciate the way he engages in small talk while scanning my entire body with what I can only describe as microscopic goggles. He once rightfully insisted I have Mohs surgery on my face, and I will be forever grateful for his expertise and his advice.

September 14th 2015 I came to Dr. Bernhardt. He misdiagnose me. I came in twice in a month and was charged for incorrect treatment. Dr. Bernhardt prescribed me cream and even gave me a shot that did not help me. The woman at the front desk was very rude and unhelpful and told me to come in for another office visit to cut off my skin ( biopsy ) so the Dr. can send it to a lab and not get back to me for another week and leave me with a scar. It has been over a month now and I still have the same issue. I have been so trusting and patient with Dr. Bernhardt and it's very upsetting to have to go somewhere else after this dermatology issue could have been resolved over a month ago. I will never go to this office again. If you want a doctor and staff that will listen to and take the time to evaluate your problem the first time to ensure your dermatology issue will be diagnosed correctly I would NOT suggest going to this office. Loved him. Very caring and thoughtful. Not a long wait to see him. I really don't have any major problems but that is good to know. He removed a small cancer from my back painlessly. What more can I say!

I am a lifetime resident of Fort Lauderdale and am willing to spend the money to get the best doctors I can find. I have been going to Dr. Bernhardt's office for what seems like more than 20 years. I haven't met Mr. Bernhardt as I was unable to make an appointment. The receptionist was very rude making false accusations. I didn't even want to make an appointment after our conversation. However, I was referred to Dr. Bernhardt and I tried calling back to speak to someone else and then was told there was no one else. I was hung up on 3 times. I'm sharing this experience because I think it is important for Mr. Dr. Bernhardt to know how his receptionist treats new patients.

Did not thoroughly investigate problem areas. Refused to consider other alternatives. Turns out he misdiagnosed and had to go to another dermatologist to find that out.
