I wish I had read reviews before I had made an appointment here. I would never recommend Geiger Clinic to anyone. You can never talk to anyone. They never return phone calls. When I call for refills, it takes them days to get it done. This the most inept office I have ever dealt with.

I needed psychiatric services because my previous provider retired. I reached out to Dr. Geiger for continuation of services. I was "assigned" to Kelly Stone as my new provider. She has been nothing short of amazing. She is knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate. There seems to be a severe shortage of mental health providers in the Rockford area, so I was lucky to find ANYONE, much less a professional with her skills. I would highly recommend her.

Had an appointment made 2 months ago. Waited for the call and no call came. Told me they sent intake paperwork to the wrong email. There’s a violation! Set up another appointment again waited no call. I called said they couldn’t have phone appt because we live in a different state. They knew this when we talked to them over 3 months ago. There is so may issues that this office has that it take too long to write.

This office has disrespected my time on numerous occasions and made several accounting errors forcing me to go through a years worth of bank statements to prove that I have made payments. Sending me mystery bills from over a year ago. They are very unorganized. I would love to take this review down if they could get it together or even acknowledge their wrongdoings. My Mom saw Dr. Geiger for a few years, it wasn't a positive experience. My Mom ended up in the hospital with serotonin syndrome after she was overprescribed medications (she claimed not to know what that was). Dr. Geiger and her staff refused to speak with my sister and I even though my Mom signed all the forms. She was totally non-communicative and did nothing but keep putting her on different medications. The reason I'm writing this now is that my Mom has recently attempted suicide - which I have no doubt is caused by these psychiatric meds. I say this as a person who myself takes medication and has for the last twenty years. I would not recommend this practice to anyone, but I understand there are few good options in Rockford. Make sure you advocate for yourself because they will push you around and not keep family members in the loop.

I would never recommend this office to anyone. It’s hard to get ahold of anyone or get a call back. The staff is not friendly and doesn’t try to resolve issues. It’s also difficult to get refills on prescriptions. The therapist I had was aggressive and Dr. Geiger made it clear what I had to say didn’t matter.

PLEASE DONT GO HERE. THE PEOPLE R RUDE N MISS APPTS. THE RECEPTIST IS CONDESCENDING.... I CALLED THERE FOR HELP N GOT TREATED TERRIBLY. THESE PEOPLE DONT CARE!!!

Very unprofessional. They never answer the phone, double charge you for your appointments, and only care about your money. If you need serious help with mental health look somewhere else. Horrible experience wouldn’t suggest this place to anyone.

Called off an over the phone visit because she wasnt feeling well then tries to schedule me a month later... this is after they screwed up my first appointment and made me schedule out a month later... after I actively said I really need to get on my depression meds

If you have adolescent who need help please don't take them here unless you want your youngster to get cocktail of prescription drugs like they did mine. She ended up with worst skin rash and psychotic episodes. Funny school nurse was the one who recommended them to us. They just care about pumping more meds. My advice. Do research. Take them also also to behavioral therapy such as DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). An adult relative was refused treatment due to an account their parents held being included in a bankruptcy when they were a minor. Along with other things I personally experienced, such as not being listened to and coldness, this has solidified my decision to never obtain services here again.

Stay away from this practice & find someone who cares about their patients. Had one appointment here after being told that they could potentially diagnose an issue I've been dealing with for awhile. I had an appointment with Kayla Carey who was pretty nice and patient. Sat through a 45 min. long questioning/interview just to find out that I'd actually have to go elsewhere for a diagnosis. I was given a prescription to try anyway and ended up in the hospital for 4 days because I reacted so poorly to the medication. I had difficulty reaching anyone in this office every time I called so I eventually left a message explaining what happened. My reaction to the medication wasn't necessarily something they could have predicted, but I thought it was pretty disappointing that Kayla or one of the other doctors couldn't take 5 minutes out of their day to apologize or follow-up instead of instructing a secretary to call me back. Over prescribes 3mg xanax a day plus ambien at night Best thing she did was drop me as a patient!

I was seeing Eve Zahrndt at The Geiger Clinic for over a year. I had a family emergency and had to cancel and reschedule an appointment the same day I was supposed to be seen. They do have a very strict policy about missed appointments but the receptionist said it was no problem and happily rescheduled me. Four days later I received a letter saying to find another provider and a bill for $80. In one year I missed and rescheduled 2 appointments and I am now terminated as a patient. Eve has a friend named Renee Jones LPC who is now a licensed counselor but needs hours in order to complete another degree. Eve is helping her friend Renee by referring patients to her for counseling. Renee only takes cash or a check made out to her husband which was kind of strange to me. I told Eve from the very beginning of my treatment that I was not interested in counseling, that I only wanted medication management, and she was fine with that. Now that her friend needs hours to complete her degree, Eve suddenly thinks I need counseling. Even though Renee only charges $10 an hour, I am not able to afford it nor am I interested. I am on disability and my income is VERY limited. I think it was very unprofessional to terminate me because I had no interest in seeing her friend. I also had transportation problems to see Renee Jones. I do not drive due to disability. The transportation that I use that is funded by the State of Illinois and will not pay for a ride to a provider who does not bill insurance. I advised Eve of this and she dismissed it saying it was only a "few dollars". It is my understanding that there are counselors on staff at the Geiger Clinic that would accept my insurance but I was not offered that option. I am now terminated as a patient because I cannot afford cash only counseling when there were insurance covered options available. And of course, the few missed but rescheduled appointments to solidify the termination. I am very disappointed in this practice and because of how I was treated, I cannot recommend to others. They have always been very hepful and friendly. I would still go there but I moved to Colorado. The staff has always been corgial and prompt.

If you are honest and truthful, dont miss your own appointments, and pay your copays as many responsible patients do, you'll be good. Dr. Bruce Person is an excellent therapist, hands down. A friendly and encouraging man with an abundance of compassion. Kayla Carey, NP is an excellent listener and prescribes accordingly and even provides her own talk therapy. Honestly, I'm shocked to see this office has the reviews it does. Though to be fair, who all writes a review for their doctor unless its an astoundingly terrible experience? I was referred by our healthcare provider and have worked with Kayla. She's patient, kind, willing to try new things, and puts in the time to do the research. (How many doctors do you know that are willing to look at your printed internet article and take their spare time to research into it for you?) Since then, I have recommended her to multiple friends and colleagues struggling with mental illness and looking for something to supplement their other treatments. Additionally, after talking with my family a bit - I found out both my mother and sister have gone to the Geiger office for help (good ole genetics). While they both have been treated by different doctors than I, they also have nothing but positive things to say about the office and their treatment plans. So, if you're nervous about taking the plunge and seeking help - don't let the reviews stop you. While what you see in the review section is mainly a smorgasbord of unhappy clients, the happy (and healthy!) patients exist out there as well. I would not recommend this physician if you or a family member is suffering from any sort or serious mental health issues. She is not aggressive in her treatments, she does have comprehensive plans in place to when patients are very sick. She is impossible to get ahold of. She shows no sense of urgency. Her office staff is rude and ignorant. She has a not my problem mentality. She is not progressive in her treatment in the least bit.

She lets her patients actively use drugs. And her patients try to seek help for their friends then tells them not to be friends with them after 411 is told!!!

I made a google account just to warn and tell you ALL about the personal year of hell I've went through with this practice. I am 20 years old. I have gone through a lot of trauma and mental health issues since a very young age. At 19 I was admitted to a psych unit and treated for over a week. I suffer from depression, anxiety and PTSD. Once I got out, I decided I would give this practice a shot. As it was suggested by my therapist. God knows why. I started seeing someone named Eve. Just one of the terrible psychs in this practice (P.S. they are ALL horrific.) but this woman takes the cake. For a YEAR I was put on the highest doses of antidepressant/bipolar medication. I was angry, suicidal, aggressive, thinking of how exactly I was going to kill myself every single waking day. Why? Because I wasn't tested for any of these disorders. And after 3 suicide attempts and EVE experimenting with my medication, we found that I in fact, was NOT any of these. I am ADHD. I was on the highest possible dose of the wrong meds. Because she didn't feel the need to diagnose me. And let me tell you, every single time I would call up and tell them I needed to see the doctor immediately because I was having a mental breakdown. I would get rude, judgemental, completely SICK and unempatetic attitude from the front desk. The first thing I would hear is that I am abusing me medication. When that was never EVER the case. I was on the wrong medication and out of my mind because of it. But no. I was crueley and blatantly accused of being an addict. There was never any concern from these terrible people. And they should be completely and utterly ashamed of themselves. I was never an addict. I was needing further help to maybe talk to somebody. AND I WAS ON THE HIGHEST DOSE OF THE WRONG MEDS. None of these "doctors" or front desk "help" should have a job in this kind of practice. You all ruined my life. No exaggeration. I don't feel like I will ever recover from all the meds that were experimented on me. And I'm only 20. I just wanted to feel normal again. And I don't think I will ever see that again. The entire staff (literally from the front desk to the offices) VERY kind and professional. Clean appropriate waiting area with pleasant calming atmosphere.

Marianne is much easier to talk to and I feel understands me better than my last psychiatrist. I now feel comfortable here.

Jan Benedict is an amazingggg counselor! She is so kind and truly makes a difference in your life. Her office is so cozy and comfortable, she makes you feel like you're in her living room. Many people love her, because she is booked far out for appointments, so set those up ASAP. The psychiatrists/nurse practitioners aren't amazing, but they're alright. Should honestly be receiving no stars. Dear friend of mine was an addict and they were given MAXED OUT DOSES for their antidepressants. This practice is lucky they didn't kill my friend with the amounts they were giving. Disappointing, the practice of medicine and psychiatry especially is supposed to help with chemical imbalances and to treat mental illness, not to give out whatever amount of X drug they like. Not the worst. Not the best. Appointment with doctor who wasnt there.. They pretended like i didnt have the appointment.. Many other times appointments were screwed up. Not accommodating to cancellations.. Just sell you on a med .. Take your money.. Send you out the door. NEXT!!

Both Doctor Geiger and Sharon Hastings are very kind and helpful. They push the diagnosis of "depression" a bit too hard. I've seen other psychs and it was never even brought up. Definitely good people though.

Called her office crying because I was having major anxiety. They got me in that day to see a therapist who was terrible. I needed medicine for anxiety, but couldn't get in to see Dr. Geiger for 2 months and had to wait 2 weeks to see an N.P. instead. I felt like I was dying. Probably a panic attack but they failed big time to treat me.

Don't expect a reminder call for your appt and also dont expect a call back from your dr either. They never answer the phone and usually don't call back, especially not in a timely manner. A wonderful Dr. who has helped me through highs and lows of my issues. Not sure how many years of experience she has, but she clearly is well experienced in her field. Light hearted and down to earth, I feel like I could talk to her about anything. My biggest issue has been it's hard to get in to see her, she has gotten a ton of new patients and not enough office space.

Ive seen Dr.Geiger for over 15 years. She's an excellent and very dedicated Physician. #1 in my book!

Horrible: saw her associate who yawned the whole time and at one point dozed off during the session and then prescribed medication and told me that if I needed to increase dose then I could if I felt like it..
