She was great at explaining everything and was on board with my birth plan to not get the epidural or pitocin. When I went into labor her whole attitude changed she demanded that I take them or have a c-section. Baby and I were healthy, all of our vitals were good. She said she wanted to go home and that if I didn't choose one of those options she would relinquish me of her care. I began having a contraction as she said this, my doula calmly asked for a list of other doctors available at the hospital and allowed her to relinquish us from her care. Dr. Velazquez was not only short and rude with me she was also horrible to the nurses. I do not recommend her. You deserve to have a doctor who will treat you and the nurses taking care of you with respect, compassion and kindness especially durring such a special time. It was a very traumatic event in my life.

Amazing staff and Amazing Doctor! She explains everything to you answers all your questions and made me feel very comfortable.

I am so glad to have been referred to Dr. Velasquez. She is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. She was honest with all risks AS WELL as the solutions SHOULD anything happen. I really appreciated the openness and space for questions. Felt very safe being seen by her.

Dr. Maria Velazquez is a gifted, and well respected maternal fetal medicine specialist. I have been an obstetrician for over 25 years and she is one of the best perinatologists I have ever worked with. The patients I refer to her love her and ask to see her with subsequent pregnancies. She is available for consultation to her colleagues 24/7 and I have seen her go to great lengths to save at risk babies no matter how poor the prognosis. She stands at the bedside with each patient while their ultrasound is performed and explains what she sees and answers patient questions. She is direct, yet compassionate and has an unmatched work ethic. She has helped many obstetricians save countless lives of Mothers as well as their babies. We are fortunate to have Dr. Velazquez in our El Paso community.

I can't believe they still let her practice. For being a high risk doctor she is the absolute worst. Find someone else. Like everyone else states her diagnoses are wrong, but she's so assured of them as if her opinion is the only one that matters. She tried to bully me in the hospital into doing what she said. Gratefully I don't take her word for more than that. Everything turned out fine and she was salty that she was wrong. Please do yourself a solid and look elsewhere. Dr. Velazquez is an amazing doctor. I was an extremely at high risk due to my age and hypertension. I delivered a full-term baby boy with no complications. She's caring, kind and encouraging. I was monitored twice a week as I got closer to my due date. I'm so grateful and thankful for her.

Please read this. She almost had me abort my baby. She doesn't value life nor is willing to take a second look. She believes herself to be right no matter what. I can't imagine how many kids she has recommended aborting that turned out to be fine. She's wrong so many times and has a horrible bedside manner. I love Dr. Velazquez! She is so kind and caring. She takes her time and gets to know you personally. She's honest and tell you the truth. And she gives you a hug when you come back to see her! She's fab!

Dr. Velasquez & staff are very attentive & explain in detail. They care about the wellbeing of the patient and babies involved. I would recommend them to anyone. I couldn't ask for a better doctor.

I was so scared going into see Dr. Velazquez due to me being at high risk with my pregnancy. Once I saw her and she explained all the details to me in a way that I understood I felt comfortable and confident continuing to see her. I have to go in weekly to get shots to prevent premature labor and the nurse is always so sweet and caring. She always makes sure I'm feeling ok and not in any pain.
