Good for a doctor

I made an appointment back in May, Provided all my information to get an appointment for June 22 and when I called to confirm, 1. they did not have me in their system 2. the lady blamed me asking if I was calling the right office, 3. apparently it has never happened before. Based on the staff response I say stay far far away.

They really doesn't deserve even 1 star... I was a new patient before first appt she cancelled stating they dont take the insurance anymore but the insurance says they do and the Partnered network of this office says they take it. Dr. Torres is the best physician in town. She gave me her time and attention generously. She went over all of my records and all of my issues offering advise, prescriptions, testing, and follow up appt. She is intelligent, empathetic and highly educated. She also has a friendly and welcoming personality.

I am not a patient of this Doctor but I have had a sister and now my mother is dying from liver and pancreatic cancer we had to fly her away from there to get help and information on her situation just kelp filling her with (Tons) of medications treating everything but the real issue. Please keep your Love ones away from this Office!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Torres for several years. Yes, one has to wait which is sometimes a long time, however once you are in the exam room she takes all the time you need to discuss your illness or concerns. She always asks if there is anything else I may need. I have found her competent and a pleasant doctor to speak with. Again, the wait may be long so take a book or knitting or whatever to occupy your time. The staff has always been pleasant to me. Great ladies.

Not a good experience from the start. Staff is incompetent. Do not send referrals. Records filled out incorrectly. Mix up patients. Don't answer phone, get message the number is not in service. Would not recommend, nor will I return. Irresponsible and uncaring

Dr is great. It's the staff, it seem as they have no clue of working in a Dr's office now the off put the to go to the answer service half hour early at lunch and closing beside

Dr. Torres is an excellent physician who takes time with every patient. That being said, because they are part of an HMO, their patient load is rather large, and wait times can be long. But every patient gets time with her. She will listen.And the office staff is always kind, courteous and professional.

Dr Torres does not come into the office until the afternoon. My first visit was 3hours (not a good first impression) When questioned her about the wait she said she takes her time with each patient. Her staff are rude and incompetent. I asked for a referral and was assured they sent it but when I got to the appointment no referral and Dr Torres's office closed for their two hour lunch had to reschedule my appointment. Worse experience ever. I have since changed insurance all new Doctors what a difference.

Hours of operation are 8:30-5:00 M-F but you can’t get thru by phone because they forward the phone to the answering service and regularly won’t pick up until after 10 am, sometimes later. This is egregious. I had a gallbladder attack last Wednesday night, called Thursday morning for a GI referral which I should have received within 24 hours, certainly no later than Friday. Here it is Monday 11 am and I now can’t get thru to the office as the line has been busy for over an hour. Once I get my gallbladder been taken out, I am moving on to another doctor and intend to file a complaint against Dr Torres with my insurance company. This is unacceptable as it prescriptions not being called into a pharmacy in a timely manner etc! It will be difficult finding another doctor as I live on a barrier island and will have to travel at least 20 miles, not ideal for a single female senior but surely there is better service out there than what is offered by Dr Torres and her office. DON’T GO HERE!

My wife had an appointment for Friday. She was called by office on Tuesday asking if my wife could come Wednesday instead. When we showed for "appointment " my wife was told she did not have an appointment and wait would be 2 hours. Staff was rude and clueless as to what an appointment meant. I wouldn't stop foot in this office again if she was the last doctor in Fort Pierce. I would give 0 stars but I cant. My wife had an appointment for Friday. This doctor does not call in refills of prescriptions. She also has no sense of urgency. I have been calling AND faxing to request refills on prescriptions for over 2 weeks now and NO RESPONSE!! So one question....how am I supposed to give myself an insulin injection without syringes? How do I maintain my medicines if she suddenly will not call in a refill? I was also supposed to be referred to a neurosurgeon 2 months ago...THAT NEVER HAPPENED. I was supposed to be referred to a general surgeon for a different issue 4 months ago and THAT NEVER HAPPENED. This doctor put me on insulin, gave me instructions on how many units to use according to my blood sugar and she never wrote it in my chart. Thank God my prescription had the info. NOW I am out of celebrex and cannot get her to respond. I have requested it now for over 2 months with no response. My pharmacy sent in a request which was denied. The office NOW tells me she is on vacation in the Philippines and can only respond at night. THAT NEVER HAPPENS EITHER. New doctor as of tomorrow thank God! One of the worst doctors I’ve ever seen she tells you she can’t give you referrals when she can she has no respect for her patients & I went to the doctor to get treated but nothing has been done and her office staff are rude and don’t care. They blame you & tell you that you can’t get but one or two referrals but yet when you call the health insurance plan they tell you that the doctor can give you as many referrals as you need. I had a doctors visit on February 15 & I will never visit again.

She is a very good doctor but it is very hard to communicate with the staff. I don't know if they are understaffed or what the problem is. Never hear back about messages left as to what action has been taken or should be taken.

I took my father and grandmother from this facility. Dr Torres seems to cater to the 'brighter complexion' and I don't deal well with ignorance. Dr.Silverstein is the place to be

I am new to the area and need a PCP right away after researching the internet and speaking with my insurance company I decided to try Dr Torres. I'm sorry to say I was so dissipointed. After my initial visit which was ok and Dr Torres was pleasant, my examination was not that of a first time patient. Two weeks later I was expierencing some medical issues which needed attention. I contacted Dr Torres and has not to date heard from her

A lot of patients prefer Dr. Torres because she does in fact speaks with each patient as if they were best friends. Her rates are great and the office is easily accessible. My frustrations are the same frustrations as MANY other patients of hers: She takes WAYYY too long to see you. I've had appointments where I'm scheduled at 1 and will not be seen until 5! That is 4 HOURS OF WAITING! Sometimes, even longer! It is absolutely terrible and EXTREMELY inconsiderate. I've witnessed (while waiting SO LONG) other patients asking each other when their appointments are only to find out 4 PATIENTS were booked for the SAME exact time. It's unacceptable. Going in there myself for various family members is always a task and ALL DAY AFFAIR. Getting Dr. Torres to get to the point and give her professional advice is like pulling teeth. It's like she wants to socialize instead of giving a diagnosis and move on to the next person. It's extremely aggravating. If it weren't because my whole family goes to her, I would find someone else who is more considerate of my time and concerns. Dr. Torres might be an excellent internist, but a lesson in time management, and customer service is a DEFINITE. I have no idea how she still has patients. Initially I thought Dr Torres might be a good internist.Instead I have found an over worked doctor with an antiquated office system,indifferent staff and no sense of responsibility to me as a patient. twice I have been in need of medical care and advice and have been left to wait for over two hours (finally left without seeing her) and then again getting to her office only to find she has left the country for a family death,with no medical back up for her patients.

I highly recommend Dr. Torres she actually takes time to talk to you. Very knowledgeable staff also. Hint - stop by and sign in early the day of your appointment.
