About Dr. Margaret A Marcone
Reviews for Dr. Margaret A Marcone
After spending 1 hour waiting for my appointment, dr M walked in looking annoyed. She decided, without giving me any time to voice my concerns about my poor vision, that my glasses didn’t sit correctly in my face. She whisked me off to the optical people speaking curtly to them and left. I need a new eye doctor.
I brought my son to see Dr. Marcone today. He is a type 1 diabetic and needed a diabetic eye exam with his eyes dialated. Her bedside manner was wonderful. She was happy, funny and positive and explained everything well. I would recommend her to anyone. We are very pleased.
I am a long-time patient of Dr. Margaret Marcone and unfortunately, her quality and ethics have dangerously decreased over the years. Most notably, Dr. Marcone was not transparent with a procedure she preformed during my exam. This procedure was one that I had previously denied several times - due to additional medical concerns - to the medical secretaries, technician as well as the doctor herself. I immediately had severe complications from this procedure. I would never recommend Dr. Marcone due to her negligence and malpractice. It is also important to note the lack of compassion and rude behavior by other staff members within their practice. Appointments also take several hours due to overcrowding and slow staff. I have reached out to the Practice Manager at Danbury Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Cassandra Jimenez, and am waiting their response. Additionally, I have reported this incident to the Department of Public Health Practitioner Licensing and Investigations Division. I went there for an eye exam, without purchasing glasses there. I thought I'd use this place because they said they take my insurance. I figured I might save a couple of bucks off of the $120 I would have had to pay to LensCrafters. This place charged my insurance $317!!! Wth?! They also want me to pay a $55 'refraction' fee, that I asked them about it when I saw the sign. (Of course they said my insurance would cover it). Their license should be revoked. Every appointment is at least a 2 hour wait. Be prepared to sit there for several hours for even a 15 minute appointment. Unfortunately have to leave this practice because of these wait times being so unreasonable
She is the ABSOLUTE WORST!!! my appointment was rescheduled 3 times, when we were finally able to see her, she was rude, and unfocused. As we were waiting in the exam room I could hear two women yelling at each other. She was angry and charged up when she entered the exam room for our appointment. She was completely unfocused and I had to repeat myself multiple times because she wasn't listening to anything I said about my son's condition. My son and I were both traumatized by the whole experience. A horrible experience and a waste of my time. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!
Run, run, as fast as you can! Dr. Marcone does not take the time to truly give your child an accurate prescription. My daughter was absolutely traumatized by her experience. We will never return to this doctor or this practice!
Terrible experience today. Waited half an hour with my daughter before we even did the intake. The appointment took over an hour and a half and we were seen by Dr.Marcone/assistants for a total of about 10 minutes. No apology for the wait or any kind of consideration. We're finding another doctor. I don't recommend this place!
If I could give 0 stars I would. Dr. Marcone saw my 2 year old son, and she diagnosed him with a -11 prescription. I voiced my confusion as to how is it possible he is able to identify things at a far distance, and she just sort of brushed it off, and said this was his prescription and to get him glasses. I knew that something seemed wrong with this, so I consulted with TWO more pediatric eye specialists just to make certain that he had such a high prescription. After seeing the first doctor, I was informed that his vision was at a -3 to a -5 prescription, she then recommended another specialist to make certain with her findings. After seeing the second doctor my son was diagnosed with a -3 prescription with certainty. The new doctor even checked him for a -11 to make absolute certain that she did not over look anything. If you value your children's eye sight, DO NOT go and see Dr. Marcone. She could have ruined my sons eyes for the rest of his life if we took her word for it and got him glasses with such a high prescription. I don't know how she is still in practice, but hopefully won't be for much longer with diagnoses that are so preposterously wrong! If I could give 0 stars I would. My overall experiences as a patient under the care of Dr. falkenstein, Dr. Paul, and more recently Dr Altman have all been very positive. As Physicians, they are highly skilled and maintain a high level of professionalism. I have never been rushed through an appointment and they sit to answer any questions I ask. I always feel they care and are continually working to maintain my level of eyesight. In the last several years Dr. Altman has cared for my glaucoma and I would recommend him without question. . The support staff and office workers are also pleasant and skillful in their areas of expertise. All and all I have never had a bad experience with this medical group. Never answer phone calls, it’s hard to make appointment with them, very disappointed
Excellent. Knows her stuff. Believe she is the only one in the office that handles eye muscles.
A ripoff. After a bad experience with billing a few years ago, I wasn't going to go back, but I gave them a second chance. My insurance has one free eye exam per year, and I made the appointment specifically saying that was what I wanted, giving them all the insurance info when I made the appointment. I repeated that when I came in for the exam. After I left, they mailed a bill for $45 -- the specialist copay. I was irked, but paid. Now, several weeks later, I find they are billing again, and for more. They lied, and then lied again. Do not believe them when they say what they will charge for your exam. A ripoff. It all depends which Dr. you get. I'm crazy about Dr Marconi, but she wasn't available when I needed to be fitted for prismatic lenses to correct my double vision, so I got an appointment Dr Stanley in the New Milford office, since my eyes were driving me crazy and I could hardly see. The lenses finally came, but driving home, I noticed that, although I no longer saw two images side by side, and vision was clearer prescription wise,. I saw two images of the same thing on top of each other and I was still having trouble reading road signs. At first I thought I just had to get used to the new lenses, but when it just got worse, I called for another appointment and got Dr Marconi this time. She determined that my vision on the vertical axis had not been addressed at all, even though it was on my chart that it needed to be and said it looked like Stanley had not read the whole chart. I have to say that Dr Stanley did not seem remotely interested in what was going on during my appointment. No small talk at all, no effort to connect with me as a person. I help train people in customer service and communications so I really notice these things. His disinterest was clearly reflected in missing a key element of my chart. Dr Marconi corrected the problem and they are remaking my lenses.( It took me forever to type this, because I can't see correctly up close, either.) I'm counting the minutes! Accolades and more accolades. Finally able to purchase my eye glasses from a reputable facility. First time since Opticare was sold that my glasses with a progressive lens prescription are made and fit properly. I chose my glasses from their Danbury store, but was able to pick my glasses up in their New Milford store. Nancy Domoff New Milford, CT Accolades and more accolades. Worst customer service ever, she hung up on me while I was talking to the receptionist. Never going back to that office again. Zero star

Great staff!!
Terribly run office. Over one and a half hours there for about 10 minutes with the doctor/assistants. My daughter and I waited for half an hour before we were seen at all. Doctor didn't apologize or seem to care about our time. We're finding a new place.
No time management. Wait times are intolerable.
Do not go here. Margaret Marcone is the absolute worst. The experience is horrible, the whole staff has an attitude. I would definitely stay away from this establishment.
I have been going to this Ophthalmology for many years. All of their ophthalmology practice is excellent in every type of eye care. My experience in an other facility took me 40 miles away. I i moved away and did become a patient in another facility on the repression of one of their patients. It was a huge mistake. I had a surgical procedure and immediately went back to Danbury, which was 40 miles away to make sure the procedure was done properly. I have had many procedures with this Danbury group and all of them have special interests and you will feel like a very valuable patient at the end of your visit. They have every modern piece of equipment so you know you are getting the best of the best. You will find the office is extremely professional and comfortable. I arrived on time for my appointment for a procedure that had been cancelled twice before by the doctor's office. I was then informed that the procedures that I needed done couldn't be done because "the person that booked my appointment didn't put down the procedures that needed to be done." If the doctor was there, why couldn't the procedure be done?? No explanation. A complete waste of my time.
I normally see Dr Altman for glaucoma - he is a wonderful doctor - very caring and informative and I've gone to him for several years with no complaints. 5 Starts for Dr Altman This past week I went to a different doctor in the practice for a minor eye issue, who was also very nice and informative, however, when he told me to come back in 10 days if a clogged pore on my eyelid did not clear up so a procedure could be done, I assumed he meant come back and I'll do the procedure. I went back thinking this is what was going to happen to be told the same thing he told me the first visit - that a procedure needed to be done except he isn't the one doing them - I could have saved a $60 co pay, which is to me a lot of money, and made an apt directly with the person he now told me to get a consultation with - this whole thing could have been done for $120 in visits instead of $240 - it seems like not only a waste of money but a total waste of time - doctors need to be aware that copays today are high and they should minimize the amount of visits a patient needs - no one needs to be told the same information twice - very aggravating - this was not Dr Altman - I normally see Dr Altman for glaucoma - he is a wonderful doctor - very caring and informative and I've gone to him for several years with no complaints. 5 Starts for Dr Altman … More
